Ryan Lockwood, a young man with a charmed life, goes fishing late one night at Trouble Lake. However, two men are already there, tossing something into the water that looks suspiciously like a body. Ryan tries to lay low to avoid being seen, but his cell phone rings loudly, possibly for the last time. Holly Martin, a wanna-be psychic and ghost whisperer, is enjoying Halloween candy when something...or someone...starts leaving wet footprints on her floors. The problem is, there's no one there. Both Holly and Ryan seek out Mary O'Reilly, who must use her ability to communicate with ghosts to help Ryan figure out who the men are and why they went after him. However, when the men identify Mary as a paranormal expert, it's not just Ryan who needs help; Mary needs some supernatural assistance of her own.
This book took an interesting turn from the very beginning and kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. Mrs. Cacciatore seems to always have great characters because she develops them so well that you feel like you know them - and her. This was a wonderful book.
Excellent! Christine Cacciatore has captured the essence of a true Mary O'Reilly story! I forgot that I wasn't reading a Terri Reid book! It caught my attention from the word, "Go!" Fans of the Mary O'Reilly series will not be disappointed!
