Derek's pack are making a comfortable new home in a small town that has the misfortune to be too close to the Brighton Pack. Clark rules the Brighton pack with an iron fist and jealously guards his fiefdom by destroying and assimilating all shifters anywhere close.
Clark sends his 'son' Troy to get intelligence on and learn the weaknesses of the new Moonlight pack. But there he meets Bel and they realize they are mates.
I really liked both their characters. Bell is an Omega and as such she is kinda like an empath. If Clark got hold of her he could use her to mess with other's emotions.
Troy is a Beta, so he can't defeat Clark on his own, but he's willing to try to save Bel. I thought that although Troy is a Beta he comes across as pretty Alpha.
Both sides make plans and then it all goes nuts at the end. I loved the surprise twist at the end. It was an original way to deal with evil shifter Alphas!
Safety is good.

Clark is the megalomaniacal Alpha of the Brighton Pack. He doesn't tolerate any other wolf packs in his territory...which he considers to be all of Florida. When he learns about the Moonlight Pack, he sends his emissary (and son), Troy, to gather details on the best way to take over the town. Troy hates his dad, or rather, adoptive father since he killed Clark's family when he took over their pack, but since he is alpha he must obey him. Little did he know when he arrived in Moonlight, he would meet his mate there.
Bel is pack Omega. With her gifts of knowing, and controlling if needed, the packs feelings, she thought she would never find a mate...until the strange wolf, Troy, comes to town. Even knowing he has an ulterior motive for being there she still can't resist him...and he her. What's Troy supposed to do now? He needs Bel but how can he go against his Alpha?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so interesting and I really felt the heat an chemistry between Troy and Bel. And I loved all the other characters as well. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Merryn Dexter’s Hunger Moon is outstanding! Book #7 in the Hot Moon Rising series, it follows directly on the heels of Silver Moon, her first fabulous contribution to this wolf shifter series. Do you need to read the books in order? No, however, I guarantee you’ll want to read Silver Moon asap. Because, as I’ve said many times, this author is a master at the 5-star novella. She is a genius when it comes to penning the perfect story; a well-balanced combination of suspense, action, and danger, all sprinkled with smoking hot chemistry between the main characters. And let’s not forget the witty dialogue and fab secondary characters who add even more depth and interest to the story.
When the small, tight-knit Moonlight pack settled near Sarasota they’d been running for their lives. They had no idea that all packs in Florida and surrounding states fall under the rule of the Brighton pack. Their existence has suddenly come to the attention of the Brighton alpha and he’s not happy. To say Clark Lansing is a cruel and demanding alpha is putting it mildly. He is evil incarnate! His legendary temper is usually directed at his sons and daughter, all strays he adopted as young pups after their parents were brutally murdered during Clark’s merciless raids to take over every pack in his region. Now, adults, the “siblings” serve Clark in various capacities. Clark orders Troy to travel, under the guise of an emissary, to the Moonlight pack to scope out the best way to attack and conquer them. It’s also the perfect opportunity for Troy to find a way to break free from the gruesome life he’s been forced to live for too long.
As pack omega, Belinda Thomas has insights into her fellow pack members that go beyond the range of normal. She has the ability to delve deep into the mind and soul, using her talent to heal and comfort. Not many males are comfortable being under such scrutiny. For that reason, Bel has resigned herself to the fact she’ll never find her mate. Until Troy Lansing shows up and Bel’s wolf sits up and takes notice. Whoo Boy! These two are howling-at-the-moon attracted to each other, and Ms. Dexter writes the hell out it! However, Bel and her wolf are in conflict. What she feels is a man who is honorable, a man who wants to live in peace. What she knows is that Troy has the power to destroy their pack if he indeed follows his father’s orders.
I am always in awe of Ms. Dexter’s beautiful writer’s voice. Her words are crafted to deliver enormous impact. Her descriptive storytelling puts the reader smack in the middle of the action, as well as inside the characters themselves. I always fall for her main characters, male and female! They are multi-layered, well-developed, and have me believing that wolf shifters actually exist. Hunger Moon is exciting, sexy, and races along at a heart-pounding pace. Even though I’m loving the shifter and paranormal stories, at this point I’d read anything this author decides to write.

Hunger Moon is the seventh book in an exciting multi-author series called the Hot Moon Rising series. Nevertheless, it can be read as a standalone. The author tell us a story about two wolfs from packs with different views and ideals. He was supposed to recover data from her pack to help his alfa crush hers and take over the pack. Her task was to uncover his secrets but…she ended up uncovering something much more dangerous, a love that would push the boundaries of everything and anything in order to stay alive. The characters were very well developed for a short and fast paced novel. In fact, I already hated Clark, evil alfa of Brighton Pack, from the very first pages and I could feel a spark of good fighting hard to stay alive in Troy, one of the adoptive sons of Clark. I have read about cruel alfas before, but this is the first time I read about one that kills alfas and any strong member of other packs and takes the rest into his by force. I just couldn’t understand the loyalty of Troy and his siblings to such a monster, adoptive father or not. Troy was constantly thinking about protecting the pack and it was his beta nature to keep it together by not challenging the alfa, cruel as he was. I guess politics, even in the werewolf world, are quite complicated. On the other hand, Belinda´s pack was the polar opposite from Troy’s. In hers humans and shifters bonded to them lived in harmony. I liked Belinda’s attitude but I must admit even I thought it was dangerous to trust a stranger with my heart, especially when something didn’t seem right about him even when my feeling told me he was the one for me. Nevertheless, the passion and devotion was there and cherishing it could cost them everything they hold dear and more.

The character development was quite good and there are action and romantic scenes that will steal your heart and breathe away. You will be left shouting at the characters when they make a stupid choice or praying they can get over the mess they are into. I highly recommend this novel to any paranormal romance lovers that love a touch of drama, action, and romance packed together in a fast-paced and breathe catching novel.

or become one of its greatest assets. WHOA BABY!! Now THIS is one hot, SHIFTASTIC, HUNGERRIFIC BOOK! There are so FURRY many bits, nips and barks that make this one HOWLING PAWESOME story that I couldn't even begin to list them all, never mind that I wouldn't BECLAWS I don't want to spoil it for you, but here a few to tease you with - humor, lust, fear, love, friends, mates, pack life, family, friends, shifters, humans, conflict and more! I LOVE the all but instant full-blown HUNGER between Troy & Bel! “What’s the matter, ma belle? Do you ache for me? Do you hunger for my touch the way I hunger for yours? Yes. Yes. So hungry.” It adds so much power to the story, so much intensity, amping up every other aspect & feelings along with it! And Bel? WOW!! I can honestly say that I have NEVER known another character like her! What she can do, the abilities she has, how she helps her pack with them, what she does with those abilities at the end, well, it is all BEYOND WOLFDERFUL & PAWMAZING! It truly is something you need to read and experience for yourself! So powerfull and so emotionally tight its an amazing rollercoaster!!!
I haven't read the previous books in this series but i had no problem with the story at all!
From the first page till the last this book had me hooked in its pages and almost couldn't breathe .
The plot was amazing with lots of twists and turns and some really strong characters!
Fast paced and fun this book promises some real wonderful time!
I really liked how the Omega status was used in this book and i really liked the world building the author has made.

Troy Lansing becomes an envoy to find our more about the wolf pack that has found themselves in what his father considers Brighton Pack territory. With many plans swirling in his head the last thing he expects is to find his mate who just happens to be an omega for the Moonlight Pack. Finding love can only mean more danger. Belinda Thomas has been asked by her alpha to find out what Troy wants. Her skills as an omega allows her to see into the heart of other wolves ... with Troy it is her wolf who sees him clearly. Is there any way possible for their love to survive the danger that is coming their way.
I have to say that if evil had a face it would be that of Clark Lansing, Troy's “father” and alpha of the Brighton pack. I did like his other “family” members and how they did what they could to protect the “daughter” of the family. You will have to read HUNGER MOON to understand the dynamics of this pack. This is one totally unpack like pack when compared to the Moonlight Pack
HUNGER MOON is a gripping tale that will have you rooting for Troy and Belinda from the very first word. I will warn you that you will be wanting more even as the last words come up. I hope author Merryn Dexter has a few more of these up her sleeve. This book is a really good read that has a sexy but troubled wolf, a sweet natured, but feisty heroine, evil vs. good, love vs. hate and a number of characters that I would love to see get their own story. Keep them coming and we will keep reading!

Holy Hotness Batman!! Ms. Dexter has another hit that could melt your e-reader, so make sure you have the A/C on full blast & a fire extinguisher handy ;) lol ... This novella is #7 from the Hot Moon Rising series comprised of various cool authors! "Hunger Moon" is a fast-paced, fun read that will hook the reader from the start & hold on tight through the very end! ... As with all shorter reads, the relationships usually come together much faster than in real life, but hey- that's why I read fiction ;) ... This unique story is no different so get ready, coz the sparks are flying right off the bat for the H/h :D ... Great dialogue & characters you'll love or hate, but just make sure you have plenty of time to read, coz once you start, you won't want to put it down! Since I am an avid fan of this author's work (plus I'd like to thank social media,) I was fortunate to receive an e-copy in exchange for an honest review. I truly loved this & highly recommend that all fans of fiction, especially those who love PNR, shifter or fantasy reads like I do, get this book, get reading and enjoy :)

Having read a couple from this series but not all was pleased to be able to read this one. I especially am glad it is this author also because I like her style of writing. Her characters are what pull you in to a story. That goes for this one also. Troy will have you be so emotionally involved by the time he leaves to go to his destination that you will have a bleeding heart for him. Belinda is the type of wolf shifter that has always intrigued me with the part she plays in a pack with how important also a omega is. So when she came into the picture I knew this would be special and curious I was.Troy will be in trouble now with how important she will be for him also. So she takes these two with others to tell the story thus far with also wanting by now someone to take care of the trash in this one. The heat will be off the charts with burnt fingers guaranteed. So very interesting also how she wraps this one up too.

Troy and Belinda are a great romance story between two packs. I love the connection they instantly feel. Troy’s job is to charm the new pack; force them to answer to his father, the alpha, and even though he is a beta, he wants to right the wrongs for his pack. When Troy meets with the Moonlight pack, he see so many possibilities for his and his sister’s future, but can he survive what he must do? Belinda, or Bel, is the Omega of the Moonlight Pack; she has special abilities, as omega she can see if a person is truthful or deceitful. When she meets Troy, she doesn’t know what to think of him. One thing for sure, her wolf has other things on her mind.
I loved how Moonlight Pack is so protective of all the wolves and humans within the pack. I have already recommended this story to a few fellow PNR lovers.

The Moonlight Pack is a fully integrated pack. They have humans as well as shifters and they each work together to make their community safe. The humans are mated to pack members. It is a peaceful cohesive place with caring people. The Brighton Pack has a arrogant and cruel alpha. He has made his pack out of absorbing smaller packs. He kills all of the strong shifters and takes their children. He sends his son, Troy to investigate and find information on the Moonlight pack. Troy is a beta who hates his adopted father and the job he was assigned to do.
Meeting with the Moonlight pack Alpha he finds a caring and committed alpha and his mate. Belinda (Bel) has unique omega skills. He cannot resist the lure of his true mate. He knows his father will destroy this pack and use Bel and her unique talent as an omega.
I liked this book and could not put it down. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Troy is a beta wolf sent from his father Alpha Clark from the Brighton pack to get information about the Moonlight pack in order to dminate and take over. Troy meets with Derek alpha of the Moonlight pack in the cafe where Belinda (Bel) has been sent to discover Troy's true intentions. Bel is an omega unnerved by Troy as she reacts immediately to his presence. Troy to is attracted to Bel but doesn't know of her omega status.
This story is a powerful romance with very naughty interludes. I loved unveiling this story. I love Ms. Dexter's talent with stories. This one left me feeling raw and exposed while Troy and Bel assimilated to one another. I wholeheartedly recommend this story to anyone who loves shifter romances with heady emotions, drama and plenty of action.

It is a given in most packs that the Omega is the lowest in the order, but are they really? Why then would they have the power to calm, compel, or see into the hearts of others?
Belinda Thomas is the Omega of the Moonlight pack. She has no illusions of ever finding a mate, given the abilities she has. But when she is tasked with feeling out the newcomer, her feelings go all out of whack!
Troy Lansing is tasked with finding out who the new Moonlight pack is and what their intentions are, but when he sees Bela, all his previous intentions go out the window and he can't control the passionate urges of his wolf and human. He has very deep and disturbung secrets and this development may just push him to doing what should have been done years ago..
Will their strong uncontrolable passion be their undoing, or will it be the beginning of a new life.

Hunger Moon will suck you in and tear you up. Troy is the adopted son of an asshole of an Alpha. He uses Troy’s sister Quinn to keep him in line. When he sends Troy to scope out the Moonlight Pack the last thing he expects is to find his mate and now he is torn between duty and love. Hunger Moon will keep you turning pages between the super hot chemistry between Troy & Bel and watching what the alphas will do next makes this a very quick intense read.

This was the first book I have read by Merryn Dexter and the first book in the Hot Moon Rising series. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The book flowed really well, the characters were likable and it was easy to get immersed in their world. I finished the book in one sitting and I really didn't want it to end. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and I will be reading more of Merryn Dexter's book.

I super enjoyed reading this story. I'm a huge fan of Merryn Dexter and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one :)
I was not disappointed. So good!!! Omg all the feels!
Belinda is the Omega of the Moonlight pack and she's asked to check out the new guy Troy and when she meets him she's all over the place with how she feels about him.
Their journey was so much fun it took me no time to finish it.

The story is about Troy and Belinda. Troy (Beta) has been ordered to find out what he can about the Moonlight Pack near his father Clark's territory and there he meets Belinda (Omega). Sparks begin to fly! The chemistry was great between the characters and my heart broke for Troy and the life he had. Fantastic read.

Fantastic read! I loved this book. It kept me on my toes and I found it hard to put down. I found myself easily slipping into the heroines shoes (even to the point of changing her appearance in my minds eye to look like me). A very addicting read!
