Silas Hart takes what he wants. Everything he wants. He’s a thief. Always has been, always will be. When we were kids, he taught me how to pick locks and pockets.
And then we got older, and we learned to open doors to places we never should have gone.
Eight years ago, he stole the kisses from my lips, and I gave him everything. And then my thief stole my heart.
But he also stole a lot of money for some very bad people, and then the boy I knew disappeared.
But now we’re both back in Shelter Harbor, and Silas is no boy.
He’s a man. A hardened, cocky, demanding, very grown-up man.
A man who looks at me like he wants to steal me away again. Like he wants to take me, like he wants to make me lose my mind and scream his name. Just like I used to.
But I’m not that wide-eyed little girl anymore. He left nearly a decade ago, and I don’t give a damn what Silas Hart thinks.
There’s just one problem...
Did I mention we’re still married?
**This book is "book one" in a series, but it is a completely standalone book (approx. 65,000 words) with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER!**
For a very limited time, this new release edition of THIEF comes with THREE other books as a thank you bonus. Happy reading!
Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Aubrey Irons enjoys writing about bold, sassy, and intelligent women and the hot, cocky, and quite typically forbidden bad boys who love and lust for them. Gripping stories, guaranteed happy ever afters, and LOTS of heat.
In the real world, Aubrey is kept plenty entertained by her own favorite bad boy husband, their two adorable kiddos, and the world's most ill-behaved puppy.

Intensely romantic and emotional. I'm so satisfied with this story. From the very start, the emotions run high.
Silas breaks his woman's heart when he has to run to Ireland to avoid all the terrible consequences of his actions of one night. I loved the fact that they are both shattered by that decision. Their deep bond is trembling with pain and distrust, but it's not severed.
The author crisscrosses their points of view to show the changes during eight years of separation. All the memories from the past pinpoint their present situation with bittersweet feelings.
I liked both characters. Silas is a bad boy who misses the family he unwillingly betrayed. Ivy is an Instagram star whose public life is more artificial than she needs. Things start to heat up when time and anger start to make way to all the passion that still burns under their skin.
I think the author is writing better every time she gifts her readers with a new poignant romance. This new bunch of characters is going to be very interesting to know as well as the very real, quaint hometown Shelter Harbor.
I really felt the intensity of some parts where the characters fought with their own demons of regret. The story ends with a lot of meaning, family, second chances, and finding out who you are despite all the things you've been. Very good!
I'm not sure who the audience is supposed to be for this story. The characters are mid-twenties who act like teenagers. They make dumb decisions in this far-fetched plot that feels rather juvenile for people that age.
And the writing style? Another one-sentence-per-paragraph writer who doesn't know the proper uses of objecective cases of pronouns, especially after prepositions. And the paragraphing within the dialogue became confusing as to whom was speaking.
It's not that the story was horrible, but I am very obviously not the audience for a book like this. Maybe college students on summer break should read it?
I'll only read this if the hero was celibate during their separation. It says they were still married that entire time so if he left and was fucking whores left and right while still married he can go die. Hope fully someone can provide some details.
I like these two characters and it could have been a little longer but ties that bind and family always make a good bad boy story. I needed more about what happened in Ireland and about the family dynamics before it all
If you believe in 2nd chances with an old flame, then this book is for you based in Boston. The writer made sure when people spoke in the story that they rolled their "R" like they do in Boston. This was such a cute book with a lot of heat & steam! Lol :-)
A fabulous fast-paced well written read with a bit of reality and fantasy make this a most intriguing read. Powerful vivid scene descriptions, suspense, action, witty dialogue, sensuous passionate romance keep you hooked until the end. Silas and Ivy's journey to their happy ending is mixed with heart-rending emotions, confusion, and dangerous threats; but a sweet ending it is.
Second chances don’t always come around often but when they happen you grab onto them and hope with all your heart you get it right and are forgiven for past mistakes. Eight years ago Silas had to leave Shelter Harbor due to a robbery gone bad. He also left behind Ivy the one who holds his heart captive. Dublin was to be his home instead of going to jail for years and each year away from Ivy left him aching for her. Now back in Shelter Harbor he is determined to prove to Ivy and her family that he is worthy of keeping Ivy forever.
The chemistry between Ivy and Silas shine in this story; their romance sets the pages ablaze with much passion and adoration making them a fantastic couple. The author does a wonderful job showing that people can change, and when a second chance comes along forgetting the past truly should stay in the past. If you treasure bad boy romances this is a terrific book for your library. {I found this to be a most gratifying read so I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
What a great book from Aubrey Irons! Ivy Hammond and Silas Hart have a history that very few know and a secret that Silas took with him when he ran away after the night that changed everything. 8 years ago they were married and then Silas left for Ireland after a job with his mobster uncle went very wrong and his best friend Rowan Hammond end up in the hospital with a shattered leg. Now he's back in Shelter Harbor and so is Ivy Hammond. The night Silas left broke Ivy's heart, but she thinks she has moved on. With a new boyfriend, a great career as a internet sensation her life looks good on the outside, but with a return home and the return of her husband it's clear to see neither moved on. While Silas and Ivy try to reconnect everything seems stacked against them and both have to figure out if what they had is what they still want and if it's worth it. I loved Silas and Ivy's story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Second Chance romances are always a favorite of mine and the story of Silas & Ivy was one that had me from the first page to the last. After being apart for 8 years (yes that's right, 8 long years, even though they were legally married), will have your heart aching for a HEA. Their chemistry and love for each other is intense and hot! No matter what they had to go through (bums, challenges, struggles, self doubt, envious outsides, etc.) they managed to fight through it all and found their way to each other and together. Silas is a thief, in that he stole me heart. If you enjoy second chance romances then read Thief - I will definitely look into this author for further reading. Happy Reading!
Another wonderful hit by Aubrey Irons. This one really tugged at me. Loved how Silas was a boy from the other side of town but had a good heart and truly loved Ivy. His uncle manipulated him and took advantage of him, and through all this Silas ended up losing Ivy before their lives could begin with each other. The way they reconnected was awesome, love, danger, and intrigue, and I loved how they found their way back together and ended with a great HEA. Well done!

Another fantastic book by Amelia! Great storyline and characters are brilliant too. Silas and Ivy are young lovers until tragedy strike in the way of a car accident involving Silas and Ivy's brother, Silas is blamed and goes on the run to Ireland. 8 years later and Silas is back..... what going to happen with Ivy..... is she still holding out for Silas or has she moved on with her life. Read and find out. Great book and highly recommended. I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Silas & Ivy were an enjoyable couple to read about especially after being apart for eight years (even though they are legally married). This book was about second chances and true love with a dash of intensity and steaminess. Despite the challenges, inner struggles and other people that tried to keep them away from each other - it was great to see that they found their way back to love. I will be reading more books by this author. Happy Reading!
This was a pretty good storyline, but there are dozens of typos throughout the book. Multiple paragraphs I had to read 3-4 times to make sense of.
And one thing that really irks me is when people misquote famous sayings. Einstein's quote is wrong. Insanity (not stupidity) is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
This is an okay story but just seemed very long winded and slightly immature in the way the heroine behaves. Not sure why Silas didn't just have nothing to do with his crooked uncle Declan. Youth and stupidity explain some of it but he is now older. He cannot change his life if he keeps contact with a criminal.
The summary had me intrigued. The grammar and spelling errors made this very hard to read. I felt awful for Silas who had to deal with these people and their scorched-earth attitude of him when all he was trying to do was right a wrong. I never did like Ivy, it seemed she just made one stupid decision after another with a woe-is-me attitude and never really grew up.
Wow.. This was such a great book. The storyline was a second chance romance. Long lost lovers Silas and Ivy were torn apart by bad choices and decisions. But after 8 years, they are brought together, two different people but the love is still there.
Sappy, saccharine plot. Pretty good for the super sweet M/F read that this was. No cheating by MMC/FMC during present time. They were with other people during their 8 year separation, but I never felt MMC was a manwhore.
Second chance romance. The story was good it did jump back into the past a little. Told in dual povs which I like. Bit repetitive with their thoughts and feelings but I did like the characters, however they made bad choices. Loads of mistakes which was disappointing
Interesting story where boy gets girl but loses her by doing something brave that looks stupid to everyone else. When he resurfaces years, it's as if girl is drawn to him and maybe it's because they are married after all.

One of my favourite tropes is second chance romance. Especially when the couple have known each other since they were kids. I dunno why, it just gets me.
I hear this is a series and I really wanna read more.
