We all have that one person who we know are meant just for us. The one who we tell our inner most secrets to, share our joy, every triumph, every loss, every fail, with. That doesn’t always mean that we get to be with them, but it is a driving force that keeps us pressing forward, trying to conquer the unconquerable, always searching for ways to beat the odds. For Braxton Caulder, that person is Allie Johnson. Growing up as best friends, Braxton never thought they would find themselves so far apart, but that’s exactly what happens when Allie decides to go to college in California, leaving Alabama and Braxton behind. Two young adults trying to find their way in life. Braxton knows what he wants, to be an architect like his dad, and Allie. Allie has no idea of how Braxton feels about her, he knows she wants more out of life in bigger and better places than their small town. He doesn’t want to risk their friendship and so he clings to the hope that one day she’ll realize how deep his feelings run. Until then, he can only be there for her. Allie Johnson has been dreaming of getting her Biomedical Engineer degree with a focus on Chemistry Research, so that she can work on finding a cure for Lupus. Her best friend, Braxton, lost his mother due to complications when he was ten. Allie wants to make a difference and she knows that for her, Gardendale, Alabama isn’t where she needs to be. She attends college in California at USC, two thousand miles away from home. When trouble finds her, beats her down, and threatens to ruin everything she has worked for, she realizes the one person who she has pushed away is the one she needs the most. Time and distance separate the two friends, but can it separate two hearts?
Absolutely amazing as always with Shevawns books. I highly recommend this story to anyone who has read finding strength this is the perfect ending to a very sad beginning. Tissues are needed while reading this!!!!
The one biggest reason I love this author's books, is....she draws you in with her writing. You become a member of the family, you feel their ups and downs, you hold your breath and pray where its needed. And if you read her Finding Strength, you need to read this one!! This is our closure after all of the tears shed, not that there wont be more.
Years later, Braxton and Allie are ready for college. Where Braxton is staying local, Allie wants to spread her wings, so shes off to California. Best friends they have been together forever, but now saying goodbye is very hard. Especially when you are in love with your best friend. With promises to talk every day, the pair head their separate ways. But when Allie starts not answering texts and pushing Braxton away, he knows something isnt right. Now he has to figure out does he fight for his forever love or walk away. What is Allie hiding? Is it enough to destroy their relationship or bring them closer together??
Allie and Braxton have been best friends ever since childhood. Braxton has always wanted more, but he is afraid to lose her. He knew when she left for college in California, their their lives would be changing. He let her know that he would always be there for her. She was changing, becoming silent, depressed, their daily conversation changed to I'm fine. This story is emtional. , showing a forever love and the love and support of family. Giselle Lumas narration is very emotional. I enjoyed lIstening to this wonderful story.
If you read Finding Strength, you could understand why this story tugged at my heart strings. Braxton's life has not been a bed of Roses. Losing both parents at a young age could have turned him out differently. Thanks to his step dad raising him in a way his parents would be proud of, he is the man he is. His life long love, Allie, has hit a rough patch and Braxton never gives up. I loved reading Braxton's story.
Finding My Forever is a sequel to Finding Strength and is equally good. The author, Shevawn Michelle, has a way of making her books believable and heart-wrenching. She has really down a great job of developing her characters and I look forward to reading more of her books.
"Zak stood and placed a firm hand on Braxton's shoulder before leaning down to him. "Sometimes you have to go through a valley to get to the mountain. Live your life for you now. Keep her close, but give her the space she needs. If she loves you in return, she'll find her way back to you."....
The kids from "Finding Strength" are grown now. Their past has shaped their future. Braxton has lost his mom and his dad. Allie has been his best friend forever. He's madly in love with her, but she's left for college and he hasn't told her how he feels. He's also in college and just as busy, but she's never far from his thoughts.
At least Braxton has his step dad, Zak, who stayed close through the death of his mother, Anna. They each have their own dreams, and they're taking them to other places, and opposite directions. Braxton hopes one day Allie will realize he's always been the one for her.
A sweet story. Impossible to put down. When Braxton can't take the silence, and lack of contact, he goes to see if she's alright. Disappointed at every turn though. So heartbreaking to watch the love he has for her rejected.
Is everything about to change? When things interfere in her life plans, Allie may have a change of heart. Will she realize Braxton has always loved her? Does she feel the same? Will they reach their goals, together or apart? Does distance make the heart grow fonder? Thank goodness for family and friends.
Such greatly written characters you will love. You feel so close to them, and they draw you in so easily. There are times you want to reach in and give a hug, and tell them everything is going to be alright. If you haven't read "Finding Strength" I suggest you pick that up. They are stand alone reads, but you'll want the back ground anyway.
Thank you Shevawn Michelle for another amazing story.

REVIEW
Story "Now they are grown.."
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not? Yes for me because I read book one and just had to know what happened after it.
Would you recommend Finding My Forever to your friends? Why or why not? Yes I would because most that I know are like me and love a good romance.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike? The narration was a bit odd. I listen to a lot of audible and this is the first where there was like a pause? Often and it seemed like the chapter or paragraph was over but it was just a pause. There was also some static noise in the background I thought was my device but I tried 3 different ones. There was also a few mishaps so I want to assume it was the book needing editing maybe?
Was Finding My Forever worth the listening time? Again yes for me as I wanted to know what happened after book one and this book didn't disappoint. We get a strong story.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this story for review. I read Shevawn Michelle's book, Finding Strength and it is an openly painful-beautiful tissue box story. Finding My Forever is a companion to the first story where you get to read about Anna's son, Braxton and his journey to securing the love of his life. Allie and Braxton have been friends since they were children. Now they have graduated high school and are moving on to college in different states. The distance is disturbing for Braxton, but Allie feels a sense of freedom to be anything she wishes. Trouble can follow the young and recently liberated from a family nest. Allie knows this to be true. Braxton is the only one who can save her. He's the only one who can pull her into a future she never envisioned for herself. You won't want to miss this story of pain, loss, redemption and love...Finding My Forever.
This was a first time listen to this author. The characters were believable and fairly well fleshed out in this coming of age romance. The storyline followed what I expected to happen with a minor exception that I thought would happen but didn't. It was a decent story told from the male protagonist point of view.
The narration was well done for a book being read. Giselle Lumas has a pleasant voice, but there was no differential between characters. It's my personal preference to hear differences in characters, but it was listenable.

I have yet to read a book by this author that hasn't made me cry.
This YA book is a great read if you're in the mood for a good, clean, wholesome, romance. It's a story about children who have been friends all their lives and grow up realizing their feeling for one another. But possibly they realized it too late, after too many mistakes were made.
This can be read as a standalone, but I believe to truly understand the characters, you should definitely read the first book Finding Strength. It will make a lot of things make more sense.
This book was WONDERFUL! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and definitely took a turn I wasn't expecting. This book goes to show you that with true love, anything is possible. I can't wait for more from Shevawn Michelle, she definitely has a way of pulling you in!
3.5stars. It was kind of slow journey. Hero was definitely admirable, but heroine...meh- If narration focused on more heroine instead of hero, it would be more appealing to me. Half of the read, I just detested heroine.
