This is the second book in the Boys of RDA series.
Simone Stevens is on a much needed vacation in the Bahamas with her family. She needed to recharge from the daily hustle and bustle of life in New York City. However, on her vacation there isn't much relaxation to be had because her mother and sister insist on scoping out men for her to meet. Needing a break from their incessant pestering, she heads to the bar to grab them drinks. There, she literally bumps into a very gorgeous man. They converse a little but she ultimately has to get back to her family so she reluctantly says her goodbyes.
That evening, her sister decides she wants to go to a club, and being the protective sister that she is, Simone escorts her to the club but doesn't feel like clubbing so she hangs back at the bar to make sure her sister is ok. And who just happens to be there but the gorgeous man she bumped into earlier. They end up hanging out and getting to know each other all night. It was the best day Simone has had in quite some time and she was reluctant again to say her goodbyes to him.
Trey Good is the CEO of a gaming company in San Francisco and is forced to take a vacation to the Bahamas by his friend and business partner, Finn, in hopes that it will lighten Trey up. He is always so wound up and honestly sometimes hard to get along with. So while on vacation, he is bumped into by a beautiful woman. They do not get much time to get to know each other until they run into each, not literally this time, that evening. They talk and laugh the night away. Trey isn't ready to say goodbye to Simone that evening, so they make plans to spend the next day together. They spend all day together and their plans have them still together well into the evening. The two of them feel as if they have known each other for years. There is just such an easy camaraderie between them and it is just so comfortable.
Simone hasn't felt this attracted to or connection with anyone ever, even men she dated in the past. She has just known Trey for a couple days, but she is already attached to him. Trey is set to leave soon and she doesn't want things to end, so she makes the most of their time together and they agree to have a vacation fling. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they get to take things as far as they would have liked.
Once back in New York, Simone is ready to get back to work. However, an unexpected opportunity arises and she finds herself living in San Francisco. She dares not hope that now that she and Trey are in the same city, they will be able to pick up where they left off. Simone is faced with other challenges and heart ache as well, so things may not go according to her desires.
I enjoyed reading the story of Simone and Trey. The way they were so easily comfortable with each other, to me, are always the best relationships and ones I love to read about. Simone was a wonderfully written character. Her strength and intelligence made her so likeable. Most female characters I read usually annoy me, and make the book less enjoyable to me, but I was so thankful that Simone was not that character. Trey I absolutely loved. Even though he had a tendency to be a jerk, there was a kindness to him that I got to see and, as a whole, made me adore his character. I would have to say my only criticism of the book was how it ended abpruptly. I was looking forward to reading more about Simone and Trey's relationship. Other than that, I loved the book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
