This is a great heart warming story. You cant help but fall in love with Katerina and Mason. The secondary characters help develop the story and really draw you into their world. I love the fact that the Author touches on a subject matter (dont want to give anything away) that not many author have been willing to write about. The storyline is fast pace and keeps you engaged throughout the book. Well done Ms. Hayden, great first book and I'm looking forward to many more.

Slick's review posted on Guilty Pleasures

I’m very excited to share with you a brand new author! It’s always a pleasure to discover someone new and who shows a lot of promise in her writing. Dance With Me is the debut novella by Hayden Braeburn. Remember her name because you’ll want to find her on Facebook and visit her website to sign up for her newsletter. Hayden is a self published author and as I’ve found with many self published authors, you’ll want to be notified when they have something new out so you don’t miss a thing. Oh and as soon as you finish reading this review, head over to Amazon, B&N or Smashwords and download it for the bargain price of $1.99. Really, you can’t miss!

A suspenseful romance with a champion ballroom dance for a heroine…yep, as soon as I read the synopsis for this book, I was sold. Now, I’ll admit I was a tad (only a tad) disappointed there weren’t more scenes that involved ballroom dancing BUT this was a very good story so I got over it quickly.

Katerina Nemecek is a champion ballroom dancer, she owns a failing dance studio, her mother is in prison for embezzlement and fraud, her father is MIA, and she thinks her ex-lover is ashamed of her and that’s just one of the reason’s she broke up with him.

Mason Everett comes from one of the richest families in town. His family recently sold their bank to a conglomerate who now intends to foreclose on Kat’s studio. He’s the oldest of four, dedicated to his job and his family, and desperately in love with Kat.

Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Mason just has to convince Kat he loves her and all is right with the world. Only, that’s far from the truth. Mason’s high school girlfriend has been carrying a torch for 16 years, years that she’s spent waiting for him and running off every girlfriend he’s every had including poisoning the last one. To top it off, Mason’s sister is friends with the ex-girlfriend and has “issues” with Kat. The rest of his family is fairly welcoming and puts her at ease. Soon though, Kat finds herself framed for a crime she doesn’t commit and things really start to get interesting.

For being a short story, this book has a fairly complicated plot and there are a lot of characters introduced. I absolutely adore Mason’s family; all of them even his sister Cassidy (friend to the psycho ex-girlfriend). Others were members of a security team, a couple of attorneys, and several law enforcement people from various cities and counties. I actually got a little frustrated at times because they were all introduced very quickly and it was kind of hard to keep them straight. There was mention of cases that went nowhere and a few other things that had me confused, but in reality it didn’t really change the outcome of the story so I let it go.

Overall, this is a very good first effort from Hayden. It was entertaining, suspenseful, and had enough of a love story to keep it interesting. I have no doubt you’ll enjoy this new author as much as I have. I’m excited about her next release because I already feel connected to the characters and am looking forward to how their relationship plays out. Once you’ve read Dance With Me, come back and tell me what you think of this bright and shiny new author!!

I had a revelation when I was reading this self-published e-book. I fought getting a Kindle for a long, long time. I love my books. The covers, the feel of them in my hands, the worn pages of scenes I have read over and over, the pretty colors all lined up in my bookcases. But publishing has changed dramatically. I realized that just 5 years ago I might never have gotten a chance to read this book. And boy would I have missed a great story!

Dance With Me is the first book in the Everetts of Tyler series. Mason is the oldest of four siblings, helping to run the bank started by his family. Kat is the woman he loves but has been keeping a secret for her own safety. His ex doesn’t want to let go and will do anything she can to ruin their relationship. From the beginning of the book Mason and Kat acknowledge that they are in love with each other. The tension in their relationship comes from outside pressures and not so much because they are struggling with their feelings for each other, which I found refreshing. Their relationship is sweet and sexy and real and you like them together. This contemporary has suspense, action, and even some humor. I didn’t want to put the book down as the danger to our couple intensified. And you get enough of a glimpse into the three other Everett siblings’ lives to start to wonder about their stories too.

This author has lots of goodies down the road for us. Books for the other Everett’s and a few other stories about the next town over, Aylesford. You cannot beat the price and I promise you will enjoy this book and want to read about the next Everett, sister Cassidy. So, at the end of this story, I was very glad to be able to download this book onto my Kindle. Hayden Braeburn is a great new talent and I look forward to reading more from her.

Dance With Me was such an enjoyable read. I really liked Mason and Katerina and I loved how he protected her and tried to keep her safe and was also willing to help her with her studio. But even though I liked them, I had trouble connecting with them individually and as a couple. They just didn't draw me into their story. I think that I would have been able to connect with them more if the story started out a little earlier in their relationship. I did feel bad for what happened to Mason and I loved the way Hayden wrote how affected he was by it.

I liked Cassidy and Dylan and I can't wait for their book. There were a lot of secondary characters that were involved in the story and I felt like I was missing out on the importance of them~like they already had their story told in a previous book.

Dance With Me was a short, fun, easy read with likable characters and sex scenes that were pretty hot. And I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED the ending. The whole last chapter was so good!! I will definitely be looking for more from Hayden. I think that I am going to have to reread this book again at some point and see if my opinion changes.

3 out of 5 rating!!

Entertaining, reads like a TV series. This series jumps right in without a lot of lengthy dialogue or background. Because this series reads like a TV series without all the pesky commercials, it’s helpful to read "Speeding" first. Speeding is an approximately 85 pg freebie bk on the author’s website. This series takes place in two towns; Tyler and Aylesford – the characters from both towns are involved and overlap from time to time. The author’s website also provides a helpful index of who’s who explaining a lot of the characters in this series from both towns. Bk 1 Dance with Me begins more or less where Speeding left off. So much like a TV show I expected to hear “previously on the Everett’s of Tyler” at the beginning of each bk to give background on what happened before. The ending of Dance with Me ends with a small amount of the same dialogue as Fight for me bk 2 begins. Bit of an overlap there, but it’s not overly distracting. This is an entertaining easy read, each bk not overly lengthy and all contain a bit of suspense along with the main romance. I give it a 3.5 stars, it’s not edge of your seat gripping but I got caught up in it (like a TV show) and I want to read the next episode, oops I mean bk -Live for Me to see what happens next.

Great book from a new author. The main characters were well developed and likeable. There was a good amount of suspense that kept the pages turning. The only thing I could find issue with is that about 2/3 into the novel there is a lot of scene changes and information/dialogue between some tertiary characters (police force) that caused the story to lose steam for a short while. I am not sure how their parts were supposed to tie into the story as a whole and would rather read more about the very likeable main characters. However the story did pick back up and get back to the main characters overcoming their struggles to ultimately unite in their very happy ever after. It was overall a great afternoon read and I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Where do I start in a review I’m so conflicted about? Dance With Me is Braeburn’s debut novel and while I found the story line to have lots of potential I just can’t say I loved it and thought the execution needed something more.

The book opens with the knowledge that Kat and Mason have been seeing each other nearly a year but have recently broken up due to a fight over whether Mason should help Kat save her beloved dance studio that is in foreclosure. Mason is from an extremely wealthy family and has plenty of funds to help Kat out but her pride won’t allow her to accept his help. Especially when he offers while still naked in her bed. Kat justifiably feels like the hooker in the deal and since Mason has neglected to bring their relationship to light after almost a year, they break up.

When Mason shows up a few weeks later to bring the foreclosure paperwork to Kat they immediately make up in light of the revelation that Mason was simply trying to shield Kat from his crazy ex, Priscilla and wasn’t ashamed of her in any way. Priscilla has carried a torch for Mason since high school and has managed to run off every girl he’s dated since. She has steadily become unstable and when news hits her of Mason proposing to Kat she has a psychotic break.

Framing Kat for drug possession and kidnapping Mason with the intent to rape him are all in a days work for Priscilla and her spoiled psychotic mind. The chick definitely had a screw loose and while I wasn’t necessarily scared of her, I thought she had a well wrote personality.

The story line had great promise and I thought overall it was decently done, though it was easy to tell this was a debut novel. The biggest issue I had were the constant perspective changes. Everyone and their grandma had perspective in this book and as a reader I found it overwhelming and annoying. I don’t want or need to know what every single secondary character is thinking. There were times perspective changed with zero warning and even in the same paragraph. I have to wonder who edited this and didn’t catch that. It was simply too much. Way overdone.

I took issue with Mason as well. I had a hard time with him being so easily subdued by Priscilla. Drugs or not I wanted him to put up more of a fight then he did. She sticks him in his office, in the ass no less, and instead of putting up a fight…anything….he meekly leaves with her. No no no. I want my male characters to fight back. The woman weighed 100 lbs wet…knock her over…do something…ANYTHING. Then there was the whole man rape thing which felt way to much. Mason was so traumatized that he then proceeded to talk about how she almost raped him so she could have his babies constantly for a few chapters after the attack. You know…real life, ok. Book men? Man up.

I should also mention that the big abduction/chase scene, which you would normally put at the end of the book, happened at around 60% in. Which meant after the big event you still had 20% or so of the book where Mason is flipping out after almost getting raped, and there is commentary about how everything went down from the view of 10 or so people, a lot of talking about what happened to Priscilla….ect ect. I could have done with way less of that. I want the story to lead up to the climax at the end and then tidy everything up in the last 10% or so. It felt like a whole lot of filler that’s didn’t need to be there.

While I loved the premise of Dance With Me I thought the actual story was lacking and in need of a fresh set of eyes before publication.

I give Dance With Me by Hayden Braeburn 2.75 stars

Katerina “Kat” Nemecek is a champion ballroom dancer and she owns Dance With Me a small dance studio. A dance studio she is about to lose because of failure to make loan payments to the bank. Mason Everett is there to tell her about the proceedings and pledge his love to her. Kat has recently broken up with Mason because she felt he was embarrassed of their relationship, in the year they were dating she had yet to meet his family or any of his friends. Mason confesses it is not his family or friends he feared but a girlfriend from high school that he suspects to have caused harm to Mason’s past love interests; his reluctance to publically claim Kat has been to protect her and tells Kat he was going to propose the night they broke up. Convinced of his love Kat accepts Mason’s proposal. The suspense filled story that unfolds details the happenings when Mason’s fears are confirmed and the former girlfriend becomes enraged with Mason’s engagement announcement.

This is the first of definitely three if not four books about the Everett siblings, these books are closely related. The suspenseful conflict is not a tired expected “old girlfriend gets even” formula; which I enjoyed immensely. There are plenty of pages dedicated to the couple’s happy ending; for once a romance book did not tie everything up in a bow in fewer than five pages.

I would have loved to read more about Kat and Mason falling in love, and not just a quick description from Kat on how they met. To me when I read a romance I look forward to reading the moment when each character realizes they love the other and that did not happen in this book. I never doubted they were deeply in love, but I would have liked to read more about the challenges and emotions of keeping their relationship hidden. Maybe that would be perfect for a prequel novella!

I received a copy of Dance With Me from the author for my honest review.

I have to start out by saying, “I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book!” I have had this on my TBR pile for a long while. Given the opportunity to review it, I jumped at it. And boy, am I glad I did. Once I started reading I didn’t stop until the end.
I liked the fact it started out with them already in love. Kat and Mason are perfect for each other. The problems that arise from their engagement keeps you turning the pages wanting to know what is going to happen next.
Dance for me is the first book in the series, The Everett’s of Tyler, and also the first book by Hayden.
Hayden packs a whole novel in the size of a novella. It has a strong, sweet love story with just the right amount of suspense. Enough to keep you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next.
If you need a quickie read, enjoy a fast paced suspense, then this is just the book for you.

I didn't know what to expect from this book, it was a free download but regardless, there was a good storyline, plot, romance and more to come in following books. The love story is very plausible and its nice to see 2 people from very different backgrounds come together regardless of circumstances. The plot of the story does make you angry as a total lune seems to have every intention of ruining everybody's happiness but this brings other heroes into the mix, allowing for Mason and Kat to get their happy, but also for other Everett love connections to be made. I would defiantly continue to read this series.

Enjoyed this. Kat is afraid that people will think she is with Mason because of his money. But that's not the case. But she does think that he is keeping her a secret from his family. Mason knows that Kat is not with him because of his money but he is trying to protect her from a nasty ex-girlfriend who will stop at nothing to scare away Mason's current girlfriends. So when the ex finds out - watch out. She goes off the deep end in a bad way. Mason will do whatever he can to protect Kat. We also get introduced to the other Everett siblings. Look forward to reading their stories.

Dance with Me is a romance but there is also a lot of suspense. This is a great book and I desperately wanted to see what was going to happen. I finished the book in one day. I found that each character was well-developed, even the mental ones.I loved getting to know Kat and Mason and even the rest of the family. I loved their relationship and how they stood by each other.I found it to be refreshing and I am looking forward to the next installments with the rest of the Everett siblings. I am definitely looking forward to Caleb`s book.

DANCE WITH ME was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon reading. Kat and Mason were likeable and the plot is intriguing. The story could have been a lot “more” though – more intense, more suspenseful, more complex. Braeburn’s writing style was very good and with another hundred pages or so she could have had a really gripping novel.

Rating: 3

Heat Rating: Mild: Mild detailed scenes of intimacy, mild violence or profanity.

Weird that I thought this was on my read list and that my review was here too! I don't leave many reviews. I love to read them but I always feel my reviews would hurt rather than help because I am a "gusher"! :) I found Hayden Braeburn by happy accident on Facebook. Readers, I must say that this book was amazing. I love the story, the fast paced drama and the characters that really sucked me in from the beginning. I highly recommend this book! I also recommend that you find Hayden on-line and stalk her to write faster so that we can see what is happening with The Everetts of Tyler!

I love when a beautiful woman is unsure about herself. Katerina is the epitome of that. Mason, once he figured out why Katerina left him, sets out to get her back and not let her go. He does so and they get engaged very quickly. His sister’s best friend is also an ex and has tried to hurt some of his ex-girlfriends so they are waiting to see what she’ll do. They never imagined the lengths this crazy woman would reach. She is obsessed and I hope she gets what she deserves, although I suspect we haven’t heard the last from her. `

DANCE WITH ME is the kind of book I love. Well written, nice flow, well-developed characters, wonderful plot, a little suspense, sweet romance, steamy sex and best of all it’s the first in a series. DANCE WITH ME is a novella but the author packs a lot into it. I didn’t feel like part of the story was missing like I have with some novellas. Kat and Mason are a great start to what I’m sure will be a great series. I look forward to reading more from this author. Well done Hayden!

I really liked this story. It was sweet and I always love a good "Happily Ever After"... The characters, especially Mason and Kat, were fun and believable. There was some drama, but not a lot where you had to try to keep score on who was doing what.... For a first book, the plot was well thought out and the story was well-written... I finished it in an afternoon and am looking forward to the next book in the series. Good job Hayden- keep up the good writing!

I loved this short and sweet opening novella for this series. It isnt "important" to read the first book but I would recommend because it sets up book 2. This book also introduces you to all the chracters in the series. I will say I loved the Prissy character (yep I said it cuz she hates being called that). She is suck a crazy lady but you gotta give it to her for her determination to get Mason from Kat. All in all I loved this fast read and so will you!!!

A fantastic debut. The story is great. Mason is hot, Kat is strong as they come and together they make for an explosively hot pair. The villain is the most crazy I've ever read which draws you in because you just need to know what's next. All the pov's come together seamlessly, I can't remember a debut romance better written.

When Mason was scared for Kat's life, he never thought he would become the target.
The way she got him out of the bank was genius.
I thought he was gonna die after the shots started.
Glad things turned out ok.

The story starts out with Katerina Nemecek stressing over the impending foreclosure of her dance studio when in walks Mason Everett, handsome banker from the wealthiest family in town. He's come to serve her with eviction papers, but instead, we discover that the two have some kind of romantic past together. Rather than evict her, Mason offers to pay off the mortgage and asks Kat to marry him. She says yes. Of course this all seems a bit rushed since the readers really don't know these two yet, but still I decided to read on.
Now, it's time to meet Mason's family. Yes, you read correctly. Mason's fiancé is going to meet his family for the very first time because however close they were before, I guess it wasn't close enough to meet the rest of the Everett's....
Despite the lack of intimacy with these characters, my biggest issue was the way the point of view jumps from one head to another. Isn't it like writing 101 not to change POV's until you start a new chapter? At the very least, add the three asterisk's. Changing the POV every other paragraph was very confusing.
Now, even with all of the above mentioned, there were still some things I enjoyed with the story. I loved that the characters were adults in their thirties, rather than obnoxious teens. (Even though Mason's ex girlfriend, Priscilla was super obnoxious and displayed the mentality of a sixteen year old.) Speaking of Priscilla and Mason, what kind of schmuck just sits back and let's his high school girlfriend sabotage all of his relationships for the next fifteen years? How can anyone find that sexy? No way, Mason was a doozy.
Overall, I just felt that there just wasn't enough depth to any of these characters. I couldn't really care less what happened to any of them. Priscilla McLaren was by far my favorite and that's not saying much because other than stomping her foot in anger and shrieking out orders at everyone, what does she do? There are no intimate details that allow a reader to connect to anyone. This is probably due to the POV changing every other paragraph. If the author stayed inside of the mind of only one character, I think I would have been able to connect better.
I gave it three stars because I did enjoy reading it. I just wasn't attached to any character which gave me no desire to continue the series.

For a short quick read, this was nothing like I expected. The characters were great and there was a lot going on. I think that Hayden Braeburn did an excellent job of making something that could have been boring into so much more.

I loved Katerina and really I loved all of the characters. I do feel that there was a little bit of confusion because there were times it felt like there were 5 different stories going on in one book. That is my only feedback and it is not really negative but the only reason this was not a five star read for me.

P.S. Although Priscilla was crazy she made the story!

Man meets woman falls in love. Woman Loveland in return but thinks he's ashamed of her. They break up. A little time passes and man tried again. Little do they know there's a crazy ex out to keep him for herself. Great love story. Would love to see this villain get her due.
