Go Google Ghost: A Cole & Manny Mystery

Rate this book
Cole Hayden and Manny Almeida, who are 12 years old think they may have encountered evidence that ghosts haunt the old Monastery Grounds. With the help of Cole's beautiful Golden Retriever, Kobe they attempt to find an explanation for the strange happenings. They have heard of Nine Men’s Misery which is the story of nine colonists who were killed in 1676 during King Philip’s War and buried deep in the woods that are now part of the grounds. They have heard that ever since the graves were disturbed there have been unusual sightings in the area.

The Monastery Grounds are also thought to be haunted by the ghosts of the monks who lived in the monastery many years ago.

While seeking answers about the “ghosts” they may have encountered, they learn about the history of the Monastery Grounds, King Philip's War and the monks who inhabited the monastery and while doing that they also help solve a modern day mystery.

Clever multigenerational historical tale with a contemporary twist.

This fact based story will provide the reader with a glimpse of American civics and Cumberland, RI history.
The reader will be introduced to two twelve year old boys from Cumberland. Who with the help of "Gramps" will learn much about the old Monastery and many of it's mysteries, where many an adventure is had to this day by many residents.
Apparitions, Indians, monks, a high school baseball star, police and a reporter all help to resolve yet one more mystery-a crime being planned and played out in front of the two young boys.
I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in Cumberland history, who might also like to do a little detective work. A few familiar characters referenced, brought a smile to my face. Appropriate for ages 8-99. Fun Read.
