About the author

The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.

His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.

Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.

He also has works published under his real name.

I think the most interesting thing about this book was to see the origins of so many of our favorite Disney moments. I honestly wasn't completely impressed by his poems, but I enjoyed the tales of Sylvie and Bruno as well as Alice. His poems left much for me to be desired. They often suddenly changed meter and rhythm without so much as a by your leave. One moment, you cruising right along, and then suddenly--WHAM---you find the sentence too long for the verse and stutter a bit until you find your place again. A couple of poems were cute or nice, but not my type.
