"Oh my lord!" exclaimed Devika. This tree is bewitched. Whoever climbs it sees some lovemaking in progress.
"All right, said her husband, you climb and see." And, going up the tree, she said wickedly: "After a long time I see you lying with another woman."
"This must be true!" the fool then concluded, and he pacified his wife and took her home.
Devika came outside, muttering meaningless words. The foolish leathersmith was scared and rushed to the village to fetch an exorcist. Meanwhile she got her lover out and he went home.
