அர்த்தமுள்ள அந்தரங்கம்

சூரியனைச் சுற்றிவரும் கோள்களில் பூமி மட்டும்தான் இயற்கையால் ஆசிர்வதிக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. மற்ற கோள்கள் எல்லாம் உயிர்ப்பு சக்தி அற்று மருகி நிற்க, பூமி மட்டும் உயிரினங்களைப் பிரசவித்து தாய்மைக்குரிய பூரிப்போடு தழைத்துச் செழித்திருக்கிறது. அந்த உயிரினங்களில் தனித்துவமுடையதாக, மற்ற எல்லா உயிரினங்களுக்கும் தலைமை தாங்கக்கூடிய ஆற்றலும் அறிவும் பெற்றதாக இருப்பதுதான் மனித இனத்தின் சிறப்பு. இந்த ஆற்றலையும் அறிவையும் மனிதனுக்கு அவன் நினைத்த மாத்திரத்திலேயே இயற்கை வழங்கிவிடவில்லை. டிஎன்ஏ என்ற புரதச் சுருளில் தோன்றிய உயிரின் தொடக்கம், மனிதன் என்ற உன்னத நிலை வரை பரிணாம வளர்ச்சி அடைந்திருக்கிறது. அப்படிப்பட்ட உயிரைத் தாங்கி இருக்கும் உயிரினங்களின் தலையான பணியே இனப்பெருக்கம்தான். இனப்பெருக்கத்தை ஊக்குவிப்பதையே குறியாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படுபவை ஜீன்கள்.

இந்தியா போன்ற வளரும் நாடுகளில் மிகவும் பேசக் கூச்சப்படுகிற விடயம் பாலியல் (அ) கலவியியல் ஆகும்.ஏனோ சொல்ல கூச்சப்படுகின்ற பொருள் என்பதால் காலம் காலமாக அவற்றைப் பற்றி விரியும் தவறான புரிதல்கள் மற்றும் வதந்திகள் ஏராளம்.
மருத்துவர்.ஷாலினியின் "அர்த்தமுள்ள அந்தரங்கம்" நமக்கு அரைகுறையாக(அ) தவறாக ப் புரிந்து கொண்ட பாலியல் குறித்தான நம் பார்வையின் விசாலமாக மாற்றும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை.

I am an adult and I am ashamed to say this, but let me be honest. While going to the Chennai Annual Book Exhibitions, many a times I skipped buying this book from Vikatan stall as I had that fear of being judged if I bought/read this title which is still seen as taboo. I read it on kindle recently and I repented not reading it earlier. The book talks a lot about 12 types of sexual needs and briefly talks about evolution of species.

This book anyone gets it after looking at the title. but it really had great insight on Darwin theories and Richard Dawkins selfish gene. It really had many facts which made my jaw drop on the floor. nice book and lots of awareness
