Rookies

Rate this book
Rookie cops are irresistible—a little "wet behind the ears," still a little innocent and oh-so eager! These hot young copes are fresh out of the police academy and ready to learn the ropes. Between the buzz cut and chiseled jaw, those bulging thighs under tight blue serge, the cool mirrored glasses that reflect unbridled lust in the eyes (and other body parts), they are the sexiest thing on wheels. Maybe it’s the promise of punishment at the end of a nightstick or perhaps it’s the sheer pleasure of transgression, of getting down and dirty with a man who’s supposed to enforce the law but seems more interested in the perp than in his crime. Rookies explores the sexier, sleazier side of these masculine icons and working-class heroes from park rangers and policemen to MPs, security guards, and private dicks.

I was inspired by Rosa's review of A Taste of Honey (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) where she did a quick recap of each story. I thought I would do the same the next time I read an anthology. As it turns out, doing this was a supreme pain in the ass. Especially if you are using an e-reader. I kept losing track of which story I was reading. And you really have to keep copious notes as you read. Like, what is this, college? Honestly, I really should know better than to try and keep up with Rosa, really! Never again will you see me doing a recap review.

The theme of this anthology is rookie cops, gay rookies to be exact. You get rookies in just about every law enforcement scenario - patrol, detectives, campus, undercover, and even air marshals. I spent more than a month reading the stories, nothing compelled me to frantically turn pages. Overall it was pretty meh.

Cocks and Robbers • ROB ROSEN. While assigned to menial errands, a rookie finds himself at the scene of a robbery and ends up pursuing the perp. The rookie gets his perp and there is a HJ and spanking. 2 stars.

Busted • JOHNNY MURDOC. Stoner gets busted in the park and the rookie cop takes him to a better place to smoke. They share a blunt and a buddy wank. 3 stars.

Officer Jim • BEARMUFFIN. Campus cop decides to join in on the fun instead of busting naughty boys. 3 stars.

He Could Stop Traffic • GAVIN ATLAS. This was kind of serious, and honestly I skimmed it.

Bulletproof • LOGAN ZACHARY. Rookie accidentally shoots his partner, so he take extra special care of him. 3 stars.

Roadwork • GREGORY L. NORRIS. I zoned out on this one. It was boring.

The Night I Blew the New Blue • ERIC DEL CARLO. The title says it all. 3 stars.

Burnout • D. FOSTALOVE. Way too much by the book police procedural. Zzzz. 2 stars.

New Dick • SALOME WILDE. Another serious story, this time with a detective. I am not reading this for serious. 2 stars.

The Horniness Test • MARTHA DAVIS. This was all kinds of cute. An established couple celebrates graduation from the police academy with a little role play. You know the old game where the man It's like that. 4 stars.

The Initiation of Nick Vos • ANDY McGREGGOR. This was a horrible bleach my eyeballs story about an imprisoned mafia-boss who adopts the new rookie for some nookie. This mafia-boss has a 15 in cock and the phrase nibbling boy hymen is used. I urge you not to read it. 1 star.

Criminal Injustice • T. HITMAN. Nice start, but turned out to be half a story. 2 stars.

Homecoming • MICHAEL BRACKEN. Cute story and had a dog name Rookie. 2 stars.

Open-Minded • D. K. JERNIGAN. A rookie with an open minded partner who likes to play certain games when the mood his him. 2 stars.

Dick • LANDON DIXON. Rookie detective investigates convenience store robberies. Boring. 2 stars.

Broken In at the Big House • K. VALE. Rookie gets caught sleeping on the job and his supervisor opts for non-standard 'teach him a lesson' tactics in cell block F. 2 stars.

Flight 1769 • MAX VOS. Air Marshals! That was hot and sweet. 3 stars.

This Charming Man • SHANE ALLISON. Rookie cops pulls over high school fuck-buddy over, romance is rekindled and they both have a date for the 20 year reunion. 2 stars.

My fiance bought this after we explored the sadly tiny-as-fuck LGBT section together at the local Barnes & Noble. We probably won't move in together until later in the year, but I'll probably steal it and read it as soon as I get a hold of it from him.

,This was a fun read and very sexy. I don't usually like short stories, but I have to admit this was an exception.
