I'm not a nice guy.

And so far, that's working out really f*cking well for me.

In hockey, the enforcer is a not an officially sanctioned position. But everyone knows what he does. And everyone knows what I do. I'm Ian Carter after all. I'm a big, bad bully both on and off the rink. My fans know it, and I know it too.

Until I meet her.

Candace Hunter. My sweet piece of Candy. She's the got the face of an angel and a body made for sin, but more than that, she sees something in me. Something that makes me wonder if I'm more than my reputation. She forces me to be a better man.

But there are other forces out there too. People who want to hurt us, people who want to drive us apart.

I'm not going to let them win.

Nice guys finish last. Ian Carter comes in first.

For a limited time, enjoy my complete Sons of Steel Motorcycle Club series as a special bonus! FOUR complete novels included!

Vivian Lux is a penname for author Theresa Leigh

Theresa Leigh is a romance author whose love of reading is so intense, she sometimes injures herself by walking around with her nose in a book. She loves writing stories that have you feeling every emotion... sometimes all on the same page.

After five years of writing romance under a penname, Theresa finally decided to own up to how she was spending her all time. Her mother now knows all about the kinds of books she writes. She reacted more positively to it than Theresa expected.

Theresa lives and writes in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State (not the city) (that distinction is important to her), where she lives with her husband, twin sons and twin orange cats, Pumpkin and Jackie O’Lantern. When she's not writing or reading, she enjoys eating too much Thai food, walking around barefoot, and cooing baby talk at her cats.

I absolutely love Vivian's books and this latest one is up there with the best of them. This book is a must read. I loved bad boy Ian! After reading this book - I must check out more hockey games lol. Ian saves Candace from a bad blind date and the sparks start flying. Candaces's friend Olivia, brings a lot of cheesy pick up lines to the story line - like really awful, wouldn't work on anyone cheesy! But her character was really funny. As with all relationships, Candace and Ian have some hurdles to work through, but the ending is worth it. A must read for everyone.

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book which I have read from this author, and my word, it will definitely not be the last. Candace is the good girl, and Ian the bad boy hockey player. Together the chemistry is smoking.
I highly recommend this book, and I will certainly be adding Vivian to my favourites list. Awesome job Vivian!!

Opposites attract right? Well Candance Hunter never expected to fall for Ian Carter. They had nothing in common, but that doesn't mean they aren't perfect for each other.

A sexy, sweet, sports romance short story.

This ended on a good point, but after the halfway point, I felt it was lacking enthusiasm. The beginning started out great, but around 45-50% I really thought the book was ending or rounding off. After that I felt like things were forced between Ian & Candace. Around 80% it started getting better, but I still didn’t feel connected with the book. I would love to try reading this author again and giving her another shot.

I did enjoy this story. The 2 main characters were just sweethearts and Ian wasn't at all what I expected after reading the blurb. The book could benefit from a proofread as there are a lot of missing words. Just little ones but enough to be distracting. Also thanks for the bonus books, they were great too.

•Nice Guys Finish Last?

Candace and her best friend Olivia work together at Cupid’s Arrow Dating Service. Olivia set Candace up on a blind date with her Veterinarian's son Dennis. His choice to go for their first date is a loud sports bar while a hockey game is playing on the tv, which has his undivided attention. That is until the waitress comes to take their order, then he's blatantly flirting with the waitress and just about sticks his face in her chest! Candace is not a sports fan and has no idea what's going on, so she decides it's time to cut this date short and goes to leave, Dennis grabs her wrist and tells her to sit down. She tries to pull away and he holds tighter. In the corner of the bar Ian Carter (known as the Enforcer of the Blackhawks hockey team) sees what is happening to Candace and goes to her rescue. Dennis of course recognizes Ian and backs off instantly. Ian and Candace feel an instant connection, he offers to walk her home and she accepts not knowing who he is.
Ian noticed that the woman in the blue dress didn't belong in a place like this, then he sees her date grab her wrist to keep her there when she's clearly trying to leave. It doesn't matter that his coach keeps telling him to not lose his temper. Ian was ready for a fight, that is until she looked at him, and REALLY saw him, the guy Coach Randall tried to get him to be. This girl knew he'd do the right thing. All of a sudden he didn't want to fight, he just wanted to get her out of there and find out who she is. He offers to walk her home, since this isn't the nicest neighborhood. This beautiful woman was museum painting beautiful, so far out of his normal- but she saw him, and not the hockey him, just HIM! She made him nervous, he hasn't been nervous around a girl since he was 17, what is it about this girl? When they get to her apartment building, Candace tells him he's a nice guy, which makes him freeze. He thinks he's the total opposite of a Nice Guy, Cause Nice Guys finish last. Didn’t they? ..... But he was taking her hand like a nice guy would. With her, he could be anyone, even himself. He asks for her number.
Olivia thinks Candace is pulling her leg about the "nice guy" Ian is, not only because of his enforcer reputation, but his womanizing ways. Then Ian calls and they set up an actual date, Olivia's caught with her mouth gaping!! but how will the date go, Candace knows nothing about hockey and Ian knows nothing about, nor needs to use an online dating service. I love hockey, and enjoyed getting to know both of these characters throughout the book. It is my first Vivian Lux, book, but it won't be the last! I give her 5stars!! This is fun & excitedly tense at times. I laughed, cried and got irritated too. It's a steamy sexy well rounded bad boy romance story with characters you not only instantly care about, but grow to care what happens to them throughout the story. This HEA makes me ready to devour not only the next book in this series, but more of Vivian Lux's books.BUT it's well worth the time it takes for reading it! FORCE is MORE than WORTH it on its own, HOWEVER at the time of my review Vivian's complete Sons of Steel Motorcycle Club series are included as a BONUS! AWESOME! Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an HONEST review, but I also purchased a copy to read again.

FORCE A Bad Boy Sports Romance by Vivian Lux
*****ARC kindly provided for an honest review*****

So.........FORCE by Vivian Lux

It was the first book from this author that I have read!!!

Holy shit it will not be the last!!!!!!!!

description

The main man in this book is all alpha like with a no-remorse, couldn't give a fuck edge about him guaranteed to just melt your panties right off!!!!!

Hockey player bad boy who doesn't think he is deserving but still happy to take when its offered up to him on a platter.

Enter Candace - a funny as fuck one-liner leading lady who was so bloody relatable and likeable!

TRUTH FACT

If you can start reading a book and then half way through realize, in your mind, you have sub-consciously swapped places with the main female character - you are done! PERFECT!/blockquote>

Vivian Lux you are awesome!

Force ticked all my bad boy sports romance boxes!

- Sexy alpha man
- Strong and relatable female
- Hot chemistry ridden passion

Burnt by love in the past, Ian Carter wasn't looking to date or get involved with anyone...until he met Candace!

Candace, working as a programmer for a Dating App (yep - I said dating app - lol) was a firm believer in the fairytale of love.

Sick of the current options available in the shallow dating pool, Candace runs in to Ian Carter, at a sports bar, where he comes to her rescue and leaves a lasting impression!

Ian Carter is hot AF!

Tough, strong and in charge but not in that arrogant way that can sometimes come across as off-putting in some books.

He was actually endearing - yeah I went there peeps! This tough, couldn't give a fuck man was endearing!

There so better be a book for Candace's best friend Olivia too Miss Lux!

Just sayin' cause that bitch is funny as fuck and I cannot wait to hear more from her!!!! (Pleassseeee)

What started out as a date from hell for Candy turned into her meeting the hottest guy she had ever laid eyes on. Ian rescues her from a bad date going very, very wrong, only to finish off the rest of their night together. While nothing sexual happens during this unofficial date, the chemistry is there. And what's even better for Ian is the fact that Candy doesn't seem to recognize him as famous hockey player Ian Carter.

Candy doesn't believe in casual sex or casual relationships. Her parents have the perfect fairy tale marriage and she won't settle for anything less. So when she meets Ian, she thinks maybe something could be in the air. He's certainly hot, strong, and brave since he saved her from her horrible date. When he mentions he's good on the ice, she's not so sure about what that means. When her friend figures out who he really is, she's really not so sure. Should she get involved with the bad boy of hockey?

Loved this book from the start! While Candy is more demure than the kind of female lead characters I usually like to read about, it really worked in this situation. She is soft where Ian is hard. She is sweet where Ian can be oh so bad, but in the hottest of ways. Their first encounter together will leave you panting and begging for more. What also kept the story moving along in the right direction were Candy and Ian's best friends. Olivia compares herself to Samantha from Sex and the City, while Ian's best friend Brad talks a good game but is unsure of himself around women. Can't give away what causes and leads up to all the suspense in the book, but trust me you will not be disappointed. If you like bad boys trying to be good for the sake of their women, this book is for you.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL STORY.
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.............OVER 18 + READING
Candace Hunter, who works for an online dating site about to launch and not a sports fan, was set up on a blind date by her best friend Olivia Bryant (a self professed female chauvinist pig). First he has her meet him at a sports bar for dinner (a first date at that), totally ignores her till she starts to leave then decides to manhandle her till she raises her voice to get him to let go of her. To everyone's surprise Ian Carter ,(the enforcer for the Blackhawks hockey team, with the reputation as "Blackhawks' Bully" comes to her rescue) and the funny part is she doesn't even know who he is, to his surprise, and tells him to release her then walks her home. She thinks he is a nice guy much to his surprise as he wonders what she sees when she looks at him, from the first he felt she really saw him not the money and fame. Her boss tells them to try out the app to the site one night, since Ian ask her to dinner and she ask him to do it. A lot of surprises and a new ideal for how the app should run, if the boss agrees. As they get to know each other you learn about their past, friends, family, what they want out of life.even ways they change and help each other as love blooms. They also find out about how they deal with things differently , which will bring problems of it's own.A argument and jealously will lead to danger for both of them and a lot of pain. Can they survive it?

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

This is the first book I read of Vivian Lux and I must confess I went out and ordered more by her after I read this book.

This is a sports romance with the required manwhore - Ian Carter; the innocent woman - Candace; and always some supportive friends - Molly and Brad (both of whom had great one liners throughout the book).

Ian Carter is a sports legend, the Enforcer. He has been burnt in love and has decided he doesn't need to want the complications a relationship brings with it. Love 'em and leave 'em.

Candace Hunter is working at a dating company writing apps that will help people find "their one." She believes that there is one person for her out there, probably in another state or country, she just hasn't found him yet. She wants to be like her friend Molly who attracts all types of men for quick hook ups but she just can't and she is tired of the dating scene. Then she meets Ian.

Ian and Candace meet and they both realize that there is something special there they just aren't sure what it is or where it is going. Candace holds onto her hope of the "one" and Ian tries to hold onto his thoughts that he doesn't want to get involved in a relationship. Together opposites attract.

Vivian's writing is very easy to read and her characters flow off the page. You can relate to them even when they do things you yell "Ugh". Her characters are well developed and the plot has just enough twist to keep you reading. I read this book in one sitting and look forward to the next book in this series.

My reading has slowed down quite a bit, but this one got me back in the swing of it as it was very entertaining. I was immediately drawn to the characters and really liked the immediate attraction and connection between Ian and Candace. Although Ian is supposed to be this bad boy manwhore, I really didn't get that impression. In fact, when there's a mention of his manwhore reputation, I was really surprised. It sounded like he was always the good guy who found hockey as a youth that save him, but later got screwed over by a lying girlfriend. You never see all the other women he reportedly slept with after he dumped her and I never got a true bad boy vibe from him because he was so good to Candace.

As the book went along the drama did feel a little manufactured and not seamless with the story. BUT on the other hand... well, it's fiction and it would be super boring if our couple had no friction or something to drive the plot for the ultimate HEA. The angst wasn't over the top, it just felt forced. Both characters weren't as mellow and easygoing.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book as it was a nice and fun read to get me out of my rut. I'm definitely planning on checking out more stories by Vivian Lux.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review (thank you!).

I thoroughly enjoyed Force. It's a great starting point for what I hope is a new series from Ms. Lux. I am a MAJOR hockey fan, so I like her using hockey players and the whole hockey scene as a backdrop. Also, nice use of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick reference. Major props for that one! :)

So I pretty much measure all of her books against Rane right now, which I absolutely loved (go buy it! It's awesome! 5+++ stars!) So although I gave this 4 stars, it's really more like 4.5. I liked the characters a lot. I always enjoy a bad guy who is secretly a good guy and a total softie at that. I liked the interplay between Ian and Candace and thought that they had good chemistry. I did wish that there was a bit more Olivia in this one, but I am also secretly hoping that maybe Olivia and Brad will be the next book (hint hint Ms. Lux). But anyway. I like the development of the relationship between the characters and the sexual chemistry was amazing! Plus (spoiler alert) what hockey fan hasn't had the fantasy of her favorite player getting it on with her in the locker room! Yes please!

Anyway, I highly recommend Force. A most enjoyable and entertaining read!!!

This was my first by this author and my first hockey book. I plan on reading more of both now!
Ian is the star of the blackhawks and they are leaning on him to take the team to the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row. His private life is a string of women that he is trying to use to numb the pain of some serious heartbreak.
Candace works for a matchmaking app and despite her jaded best friend, believes in romance and true love. When a date goes south, Ian is in the right place at the right time and rescues Candace. They both immediately reconsider their stances on the 'type' of people they should be intimate with. I immediately fell in love with Ian and Candace. His cocky attitude matches her sass perfectly and both characters are very well written. The sexy scenes are smoking hot and the sweet ones are swoon-worthy. The plot grabs you from the beginning and the banter is perfect.

I really enjoy stories that are about Hockey players, there is just something about the who Alpha bad boy image that gets to me. Ian Carter is the poster child for Alpha bad boy on and off the ice, the fact he is an enforcer he is not easily liked. Candace Hunter is a sweet girl who can see behind the image that Ian portrays, he is a good guy who was hurt by love and she wants to heal his heart. This had a good storyline, was written well and keeps your attention. The chemistry between the two characters is very high and sometimes the sparks just jump off the page. The characters are interesting, well developed and are easy to like. The author threw in some interesting twists to keep you glued to your seat as you turn the pages racing to the end. I enjoyed the story and would recommend to anyone who likes hockey romance.

ARC given in exchange for a fair and honest review. Can i just say first how much I love Vivian Lux, from her Rockstar Romances to her Sports Romances she has it all. Some think oh another sports romance BUT NOT with Vivian, she takes FORCE to Another level. Candace doesn't know a thing about sports and well Carter is living the dream and cares of nothing else. He has everything he wants so why worry about anything except the ice. Until he meets a girl he just can't get out of this mind. He sees her as a challenge he is happy to accept. Candace could care less about Carter's sports status. But there is so much more to this book than romance and sports status. This book has some very surprising suspenseful moments no ones see coming. This is a book hangover book for sure. Vivian Lux Can't wait for what's to come.

This is not the first book that I have read by Vivian. But it is different from her biker and rocker books. You have Ian, the bad boy hockey player and Candace the good girl dating app programmer. When they first meet, Ian rescues Candace from a blind date gone bad. Now what we have is the bad boy wants to be good and the good girl wants to be a little bad. Now Ian and Candy are starting to date and their relationship is really hottt!! I love their conversations and their chemistry is off the charts. But you have certain people and circumstances trying to break them apart. The book has lots of laughter, a few tears, smoking hot sex and a little bit of drama. Loved the book and can't wait to see if there is going to be a story with Brad and Olivia.

I'll be honest, going into this book I didn't have much expectations for it to be as great as it was. Hockey sports romances aren't my thing but really the meat of this book is about their relationship with hockey being the supporting theme. Ian is the Hockey star bad boy, damaged from a past relationship. Candace is a hopeless romantic good girl. You wouldn't think they'd work but after Ian "rescues" Candace from a date gone wrong, sparks fly.

Force was the first book I've ever read by Vivian Lux and it kept me interested the ENTIRE time, which lately has been a issue for me. I highly recommend it to a few friends of mine as soon as I was done reading it. **An ARC was given for an honest review**

I have read the past 4 books by this author and thoroughly loved them all. I had no idea this one was coming until it was in my kindle app. The other three were rockstar romances and this one is a sports romance, so a bit of a turn for what I was used to. I don't know what it is about her books, but they captivate me from the time that I start reading and I can't put it down until I finish. The characters are thoroughly loveable. It's about a not so nice guy hockey player named Ian who falls for a complete nice girl named Candace. The chemistry and banter was so much fun. You will not be disappointed with this book , especially if you love sports romance! :)

I liked this book but just didn't love it.

Ian is an enforcer for the Chicago Blackhawks and the ultimate bad boy. Candace isn't look for love she would just like a date to go well. When the latest date doesn't go well at all, Ian comes in and saves her. He finds it refreshing that she knows nothing about hockey and Candace thinks she found a nice guy one she can fall for. The story goes from there.

I did like Ian and Candace, I thought the premise of their characters was good. I did find the pace and some of the story line a little much and things that didn't make sense. There were also quite a few errors which I can normally ignore but when there is a mix up between NFL and NHL that's hard for me to ignore.

If you are looking for a fast pace book this is a book for you.

I was given a complimentary e-copy of Force: A Bad Boy Sports Romance, in exchange for an honest review.
I am a true fan of steamy romances where the hero is a bad boy NHL hockey player so when I was given the chance to read Force, I jumped right on it. Within 3 hours of receiving the ebook, I can without a doubt say that I LOVE this book. Ian won my heart from his very first appearance in the book, and my love for him just kept growing up until his very last words on the last page.
Excellent job Vivian Lux – I hope there will be many more Bad Boy Sports heros in your writing future and you’ll find me, right at the beginning of the line anxious to love them all as much as I love Force!!

This was my first book by Vivian Lux and my first ever with a sports theme. So I went into this book rather hesitantly to be honest but I was rather blind sided by it! The author hooked me in right away, which is rather difficult to do for me. I really loved the dynamic between Ian and Candace and how they balanced each other so well. Vivian's writing flowed smoothly and kept me on my toes. I never wanted to put it down. I thought I had the plot figured out and she'd take me for a 180, loved it! It was just sexy enough I think too, not smutty. I would definitely recommend this read and will definitely look for more books by her in the future!

Ian Carter, Ice Hockey player for the Blackhawks. He is the enforcer, a bully on and off the ice. Candice Hunter a believer in the fairy-tale of love, is on a blind date set up by her friend Olivia when he treats her wrong. Ian steps in to save her and he gets her phone number. She has no idea who Ian is. With an ex-fiancée who cheated and lied to Ian, her sister Donna’s cheating fiancée, a team mate wanting revenge they have ups and downs in their relationship. Adding an injury to Ian who saved Candice again this book have everything that l love about a bad boy sports romance.

I received an ARC of Force for an honest review. Omg I fell in love with Candace and Ian's story. Ian is a hockey player who isn't very nice and gets into quite a few fights. Nice isn't his thing. That is until Candace stumbles into his life, by him rescuing her from a bad date. Who would have thought that the mean guy could have a soft spot for Candace?? She was sick of blind dates and he could not keep her off his mind. Love comes when you least expect it. Vivian does it again. I love her books. I would recommend everyone to read this story. You won't be disappointed ❤️

Good read

I only read the first book because that's what I bought and wanted to read. Plus I already read the others nook a long while ago. Didn't even know they were in this book. The first book is a really good book. I didn't see him as a jerk but as someone sweet at least with her. This book is filled with romance and drama and sex. These two were great together. I liked that he wanted to be a better person for her. I just hope she can put up with the hockey bunnies lol.

Hockey With A Heart

I love Hockey Books and this was So Good. Ian is a big tough Hockey Player and he's definitely isn't looking for relationship.. But, when he spots Candace in a sports bar on a bad date Ian comes to her recuse and walks her home. Ian's heart comes back to life after a terrible breakup while walking & talking with Candace. Best of all, Candace has no idea who Ian is.
It's a beautiful story, I read it in one afternoon. I would love another book with Ian & Candace

I enjoyed this story, it was funny, sexy and charming. The characters were great Ian is your typical bad boy but has the sweetest heart. He is a hockey player and is sexy. Candace is beautiful, funny and sassy. I loved that Lux kept the story fun and interesting without major drama. I am start to love the Sports Star/Romance stories. Lux did a wonderful job with Force. Happy Reading!!
