Hello!
Thank you for stopping by.
The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev.
We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping.
I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :)
Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs.
We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know.
Please feel free to contact us at: jdalglish7@gmail.com or on Facebook
God Bless, John & Bev

A cosy crime story. Nothing extraordinary about the plot or the way it unfolds, with a few plot conveniences – particularly the ease with which the killer operates and disposes of the bodies.

At the end, I felt like saying ‘all that for that?’, but deep down I didn’t have a bad time of it. It’s very easy to get into – perfect for the commute – with an endearing main character and good dialogue that flows naturally.
Perfect for a bit of light reading without having to think too hard.

I quite enjoyed the audiobook. I found the narrator to be very soothing to listen too. I found the plot easy to follow, yet the author kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed the characters in the book, they were comfortable in their own stories, but you don't need to read or listen to any previous book to catch up on the characters. I'll enjoy listening too, and reading more by John C Dalglish

Detective Reggie Brown will retire after thirty years with the Chicago PD. He takes on one last case and wants to complete it before he leaves.

Chad Marshall is a reporter with WWND-10 TV. He's given information that leads to a gruesome discovery.

Both Brown and Marshall work together to solve the case before the killer can strike again.

I keep coming back to John's books because the language is clean and the scenes are pg. The reader gets a glimpse into the world of a detective, both the professional and at home. One gets to know the main character very well as he looks for clues.

I was hooked on the story right from the beginning. It drew me in and didn't release my curiosity right to the finish. What a great read!

Dalglish again delivers (in his own words) a 'clean mystery.' And it is one. There is no gory violence, gratuitous sex, or endless profanity.

Soon to retire detective Reggie Brown catches the case of a coed strangled, her body left near a river. Then more coeds die, upping the pressure to find their killer before he retires. Reporter Chad Mitchell receives a text from the killer informing him of the murders and offering teasing clues.

As in other books I've read in the series, Dalglish delivers a steady low-key tension throughout. Will Reggie solve the murders before he retires? Is the bleeding spot on his neck cancer?

I'm glad to see there are many more books in this series. I look forward to reading them.

This is an intriguing murder mystery that keeps you guessing who the killer is. It is a well written, smooth paced detective story that keeps your attention all the way through. The characters are very likeable and you soon become attached to Det. Brown, who has to deal with his own health issues as he tries to put the various pieces together and capture the killer before he murders again. The narrator of the audiobook fits the book well and did a great job of giving individual voices to the various characters. It is an enjoyable, gripping story and I will look forward to the next in the series. I received the audiobook at no cost and under no obligation.

I am finding these books really interesting. This book is the 3rd in a series. They all start witha background story them develop into a murder investigation. in these stories, the detectives basically
have to solve the crime with good old fashion police work. in this book, a young girl loses her mother and contacts her uncle she did not know she had. that her mother never told her about. and he places her and a friend in "working for him." the book grabs you from the beginning and does not let up.
I recommend these books if you are into crime/police books.

Jeggie is a veteran Chicago homicide detective with only a few days to go before retirement. Then someone is strangling young college girls and Reggie is given the case to handle until his retirement day. Of course the killer keeps killing and Reggie must double down to figure out who is doing this. Will he figure it out in time? Dalglish does a good job of creating a whole person in his character, Reggie. The reader ends up caring about what is going to happen to Reggie, almost as much as finding out who the killer is and why he is killing these girls. Overall a good read and a good mystery.

Clean action and suspense

This is the third book that I have read by Mr Dalglish. They have lived up to my expectations and that there is no swearing and there is no sex. It is really nice to read a good murder mystery without having to deal with that. The only problem I have with the books is their spelling errors and missed words. That is very distracting the four-star rating instead of five.

Excellent!

Okay, I'm addicted. Great story that didn't give itself away in the first 50 pages. Clean, clean, clean! That matters to me. Thank you. My only complaint would be that you made law enforcement from Sioux Falls,
South Dakota, sound like hicks. Come and visit sometime. I think you'll be surprised. I'm on to the next in the series. Can't wait!

Clean murder mysteries!

This doesn't happen often, but these are clean murder mysteries that still have enough suspense to keep you engaged, without the blood/sex/gore. I appreciate the good storytelling for sure. Two thumbs up for all of these.

If you enjoy murder mysteries where the violence occurs "offstage" and there's not a single curse word on the pages, John Dalglish is the author for you. He is rapidly becoming one of my go-to writers for action/suspense thrillers.

Review of: "Chicago Homicide".

This book went too fast and ended too soon. The author leaves it hanging as to what the main character does after he retired goes in for surgery.

Good solid read. Enjoyed it. Still cannot figure out the deal with the knife, but there was enough who-done-it for this novice mystery reader.

Another great book

Mr. Dalglish has written another great read. It took until the last chapter to put the pieces together and realize who the killer was. Will wait with patience for the next book. Thanks!
