The purpose of this research book is to involve educators in critical inquiry, persona reflection and supportive discussion about the concepts underlying cooperative strategies and effective classroom applications. Specifically, the book is designed * promote understanding of elements basic to cooperative learning, * stimulate critical and creative thinking about effective classroom use, * raise and explore implementation issues and options, and * encourage supportive interaction among educators experiencing and facilitating cooperative strategies.
A great teaching resource for incorporating cooperative learning into all grade levels. Includes multiple assessment forms and step-by-step processes for each of the five cooperative learning components.
This book is definitely suited to primary school teachers. There's plenty of useful resources and worksheets that help facilitate reflection and cooperation, though I don't feel there's too much here that would be suitable for my secondary students. The information about how to establish groups was useful, but I would have appreciated an extra focus on behaviour management in the vein of the related CMS book - how to specifically address group-work related issues.
