4 books11 followersश्यामनारायण पाण्डेय का जन्म आजमगढ के डुमराँव गाँव में हुआ। इन्होंने काशी से साहित्याचार्य किया। पाण्डेयजी वीर रस के अनन्य गायक हैं। इन्होंने चार महाकाव्य रचे, जिनमें 'हल्दीघाटी और 'जौहर विशेष चर्चित हुए। 'हल्दीघाटी में महाराणा प्रताप के जीवन और 'जौहर में रानी पद्मिनी के आख्यान हैं। 'हल्दीघाटी पर इन्हें देव पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ। अपनी ओजस्वी वाणी के कारण ये कवि सम्मेलनों में बडे लोकप्रिय थे।
Shyam Narayan Pandey (1907 - 1991) was an Indian poet. His works include the epic poem Haldighati, which is based on the Battle of Haldighati between the forces of Akbar and Maharana Pratap.
Pandey's another epic Jauhar, depicting the self-sacrifice of Rani Padmini, a queen of Chittor, written in a folk style[1] became very popular in the decade of 1940-50.
