T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.

I really liked Avery in this one, I really liked how she took a chance just by being in the same area as the rest of the crew and more how she took a chance when first saw Weston again. With their past you would have thought she would have done everything she could to avoid him. After learning what really happened it was hard to not feel sorry for both Avery and Weston, both lost much when they lost their friend. I loved how working together Avery and Weston were able to face horrible things in their past and make it safe for them all in the future. But I think my favorite part of this book was the quiet conversation that Beaston had with Avery, it was so very sweet.
Talk about a web of misunderstandings, miscommunications, bretrayls and in between all that a love story.
For this was definetly on the more angsty emotion side. However I still really enjoyed this story and it gave us an understanding of why Weston can sometimes be a right dick. I also really enjoyed Averys character too. While being very withdrawn (understandably) she was a very dynamic character .. All is not what it seems with her so don't be fooled because what may seem week at the start is actually stronger than most.
The storyline was very up and down in terms of angst and drama but nonetheless I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are very well built and the plot sucked me right in. The chemistry between Weston and a very was sweet and gentle and the same time as being hot and fiery!! And of course the secondary characters were all shinning stars to.
Joyce did a great job with this story. It’s the longest I’ve read so far from her but she did well and I really enjoyed that we got a more in depth story for the Novak Raven. I wanted to see them be parents is my only regret, since that was one of Avery’s dreams.
The love story of Weston and Avery. The raven shifters have a close society and there has been only one person who left it and the raven council want her son back. They plan to use Avery to trap Weston. Will Avery trap Weston or will he free her? Great story.
There are those extra special times when a reader simply connects with a book, a series or a group of series that all connect and create this alternative universe that is simply amazing… and so real. I believe we all have those characters that we simply “get” and look upon as virtual friends, the ones that we could see ourselves hanging out with, taking part in their lives. For me, that universe contains all of the series that make up the over-arching connecting series of Damon’s Mountains and Harper’s Mountains And for once, I’m left speechless and clueless as to how to write a review without giving away major spoilers in my “need to talk about this” frame of mind. So this will be a shorter review. Not because I didn’t love Wes and Avery’s story – but because I enjoyed it so much, felt deeply about the outcome and actually cried at the near perfect ending.. I will be tempted to tell you too much, and you really need to read Novak Raven for yourself. You really do.
If you have not followed any of the other stories in this connecting series, then the Cover Description will really give you enough of a glimpse into Weston and Avery’s story. Betrayal. Revenge. Hopelessness. Fear. Utter sadness. Those are just a few of the emotions that will be evoked as you read Novak Raven. The madness and absolute terror of the Raven Shifters toward anything outside of their own kind is one driving force in this story. Two young people who were allowed to be pen pals as children will set up an ultimate betrayal that only one is aware of, but that knowledge breaks off the communication that they both depended on.
Avery has finally been allowed to leave Raven’s Hollow far behind, and she never intends to return. She’s safe here in Harper’s Mountains. Oh, the Bloodrunner Dragon has no idea that Avery exists, but simply being near the Alpha and her crew has almost guaranteed Avery’s freedom. She is terrified of meeting any of the shifters face to face for she’s been told tales of them all her life. Yet, she once called one of that crew friend and maybe in her mind, more. Weston had no idea how many times he’s saved her sanity over the years since they last wrote – but she would not, could not seek him out now. She’d be fine.. she just needed a job.
Weston’s visions were destroying him slowly, piece by piece. What good was knowing the future when you cannot change the devastating things about to happen to people? But it’s not only his visions that hang heavy on Wes’ mind. His friends are all settling in, making a new home and finding their mates here in Harper’s Mountains. He knows he will never find that comfort, for the one person who held his heart once betrayed him in the worst possible way – but she was it for him and he knew he would not find what his friends had. When Avery shows up for a job interview, it’s questionable who was more surprised or stunned. Intending to quickly send her on her way, Weston found himself over-ruled by his best friend and business partner, Ryder. And so the past meets the present – who knows what the future holds now.
Novak Raven is an emotional roller coaster to read. It will touch you on some level. Love will almost always overcome evil. But evil can do a lot of damage in the meantime. Read this one, you won’t be disappointed.
Avery has always been told that her bird is wrong and was trained to cower and stay submissive. Weston has always known he would be a warrior, but still questioned his raven side growing up. Pen pals for years, but betrayal cuts Weston deep. Will Weston discover the truth behind the betrayal? Will Avery be able to be proud of her dominant raven?
Just like Beaston, I’m a sucker for Weston. When he has popped up in the other books in this series he comes off as a loyal, but serious man. Loved how despite Avery being brainwashed, she made the decision to stand on her own two feet. These two were perfect together with Avery bringing out Weston’s relaxed side and Weston making Avery realize she’s stronger than she thinks. These two are definitely favorites of mine!

Oh wow!! Weston from Novak Raven by T.S Joyce is hot!! I think I'm in love...
Weston is the son of Beaston of the Gray Backs who now lives on Harper's mountains. He started having visions like his father and is struggle. Avery is his old friend. A fellow raven shifter. When they were 10 years old they started off as pen pals and their relationship started to grow. Until his mom told him that Ave was born to betray him and he stop talking to her. Now at 24 years old, Avery came to the mountains to escape a marriage contact with a raven shifter she hates and in turn found a way to fix her friendship with Wes.
But what happens when her family betrays her instead?? Will she be strong enough to save the Bloodrunner crew she loves??
Just when you think your favorite author has already written the best book ever.... She does it again. Omg this book was fantastic!! So many easter eggs, so freaking good. I absolutely LOVED Beaston. Well Wes is battling that spot in my heart. I can't wait to read about Kane! Alpha I don't know how you do it, you give us a better story each and every time. I love these entire group. I highly recommend to ANYONE to check out this series and T S Joyce!! She is one of my most beloved authors! You will never regret reading any of her books. Yes they are that great
I feel like I'd been waiting to read the story of the Novak Raven for a long time. TS manages to create a world so different from our own but filled with the possibility of the unexpected. Harper's Mountains is the next generation. The detail to the characters and their upbringing is unlike anything I've had the pleasure of reading before. The thought and heart put into the world she has created is captivating. I don't want to post any spoilers but I will say this story like her others will make you laugh, cry, be angry, and feel all the emotions right along with the characters. TS Joyce pulls at your heartstrings and makes you look at the world filled with possibilities.
I LOVED THIS!!! I loved reading about the children of the old character, but Wes stole my heart. I loved the Novak family from Beaston book and his son didn't disappoint.
Dear T.S. Joyce can you please think of writing books for all the other character children of your previous series?!
Like his father, he has visions and the h broke his heart when they were kids. What he doesn't know is that she has been abused by her people. He hurt her badly, but also helps her to learn how to be stronger. She needs to be to find her place in the crew. This is a great story, that gives such good insights into members of the crew.
Out of the park. I loved it!!!! I was happy to find out that Weston wasn’t so cold as he came across at times. I knew he had more to him but to see it.... Ave was awesome how she grew from all that she went through. So many great things. 5 stars
This is the forth book in this series. Weston Novak has lived his whole life in the shadow of his raven people. His mother was the first and only female raven to leave her people and live somewhere else. Now he has begun having visions just like his father and grandmother. A girl from his past has just stumbled into his present and he knows she is there with dark reasons. Avery has left her people to go live near the Blackwing crew. She doesn’t want to marry the guy her people have picked for her. Avery and Weston used to write to each other as children and even meet once. She doesn’t intend for Weston to know she is there or to contact him but just being near him could be enough to keep her people off her back. When the two run into each other things get interesting quickly. They both upset with the other over things that happen long ago. Simple misunderstandings are uncovered and explained. Now Weston has found himself a raven girl of his own. When Avery’s raven people come for her Weston is going to let her go and she doesn’t want to. Will they be able to protect her against her entire shifter race? This book had more angst than most of the other shifter books by T.S. Joyce. The raven people aren’t the nicest. For being such small shifter compared to the bears and gorillas they sure do cause a lot of problems. I felt for the female ravens the most. It is almost like a cult with how they treat the woman. I love Weston. He is one of my favorite of the Damon’s mountain children. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Novak Raven is the fourth book in the Harper’s Mountains Series and is Weston’s and Avery’s story. Weston is Aviana and Beaston’s raven boy from the Gray Back Series and Avery is a raven from the same group of ravens that Aviana escaped from. Weston and Avery were pen pals as children until a misunderstanding and betrayal ended their friendship. Truths are revealed and love is reunited in this book.
One of my favorites things about this author’s books is that the characters fall in love first and then fight whatever the conflict is together as a team. There aren’t unnecessary struggles between the characters that takes the attention off the real danger that exists.
Weston is quieter and doesn’t trust others easily. In addition to being a raven shifter, he has the same gift as Beaston and can see the future. He struggles with this because often the future he sees is horrible and there is nothing he can do to change it. Weston is also super sweet and kind and loves Avery deeply. Avery grew up surrounded by horrible people. Having Weston as a pen pal is the only good memory she has from her childhood. As Avery settles with Weston and the others in the Bloodrunner’s Crew, her confidence grows and she blossoms into a stronger person who is able to help Weston with the burden he carries.
The scene at the end between Avery and Beaston is a favorite part of this book. Such a special moment.
Kane’s book is next and I’m excited to see what happens.

I didn’t think I would care for this one as much as the others. They all seem bigger than life but Weston isn’t like that. In here we get to see another side of him. He is serious but smiles more and then in previous books. Avery doesn’t know her up from her down when this books starts. She is running scared and just trying to figure out how to get by every day. She has girlish idealism’s of The Novak Raven. But soon learns there is no reality in them. So she needs to basically “man-up” and see what that gets her. Raven’s Hallow is a bevy of political Mumbo jumbo and they play on a WHOLE other field. These two MC’s have a history but find out it’s been preplanned from Inception. How Horrifying! I really felt for poor Avery!
Ryder..Ryder...Ryder! Your words amuse me! Calling Sprinkles you hairy snuggler was genius! Then spouting off comments about Sexy Lexi...your mate. Brilliant! I Love this character!
This book was wonderfully written. It made me look at Weston differently and start to really like him. That fight at the end! Wonderfully written...I could really see it in my head! Another great installment to this series! I just want to add that I love these covers! Each is a perfect depiction of the character. Well Done all the way around.
I don't leave many reviews cause I'm lazy basically and that's just honest. This series though has really touched my heart. I love shifter ROMANCES! The trend on explicide sex scenes make me literally blush though I'm not a prude just in general not looking for that in a story. It's the absolute love, devotion of the soul mate bond shifters have that draws me in. I've been utterly blessed in life to have found my souls other half. We were only 13 when we met and we KNEW but he ran scare until age 30 but now 19 years later it's still a shifter love without the shifting. I wish that for everyone. This series gives so much story and isnt all about just sex so it makes it high on my list of favorites. I get to see parallels to my life and the horrors we both went thru to find each other again. When you find the one it's not all sunshine and roses it's still work but so worth it to be so completely understood, accepted and very, very loved. Don't settle find the one that completes you in every way. Its worth it.
So many great lines in this book. The MMC has a best friend,
“Obviously, it’s your birthday party,” Ryder said. “Since you broke our pancake bro-date this morning with your emotional constipation, I begged Lexi to make us pancakes so we can have them for dinner.”
This is one of the best statements of defiance ever (even with all the cringing) about forced marriage,
“I’m not marrying that douchebag. I would literally rather sit my bare vagina on a cactus than walk down any isle to that prick.”
And this whole paragraph actually made me tear up. This small bit gets at the heart of it,
“...you will be my only raven girl. You can’t be the daughter of my blood, but you can be the daughter of my heart.”
There are so many great loves in our lives (if we're lucky) and most of them are not romantic in nature. I read hundreds of romances and it's usually the parents and the kids who make me tear up. And the found friends. The best romances welcome the two main characters into a whole group of people, not just each other.
The love story of Weston and Avery. The raven shifters have a close society and there has been only one person who left it and the raven council want her son back. They plan to use Avery to trap Weston. Will Avery trap Weston or will he free her?
But talk about a web of misunderstandings, miscommunications and betrayals!
For this was definetly on the more angsty emotion side. However I still really enjoyed this story and it gave us an understanding of why Weston can sometimes be a dick. I also really enjoyed Averys character too. While being very withdrawn (understandably) she was a very dynamic character .. All is not what it seems with her so don't be fooled.
The storyline was very up and down in terms of angst and drama but nonetheless I really enjoyed reading it. The characters are very well built and the plot sucked me right in. The chemistry between Weston and Avery was sweet and gentle and at the same time hot and fiery!! And like always, the secondary characters were all shinning stars to.
this was one truly the deepest, most heart wrenching book in this series. Avery's past, her trauma, her on-going trauma everything in this book was just perfectly written.
Wes disdain for her at the beginning absolutely wrecked me, especially when we saw it in her pov, she loved him still, cared for him and he just couldn't stand her, which obviously for right reason.
Alana was just so fucking sweet to her in the beginning and that made me love her so much more, the kindness this character has is just everything to me.
Their story wasn't easy to read, lots of lying, lots of trauma, everything could have been avoided had they been older in their encounter, but the fact that through the years they never let go of each other was just magnificent. she kept on loving him, he kept on loving her and it was just that.
Ryder jealousy was just hilarious and him including Avery in their friendship in the end just might have made me cry? I'm weak for them
I loved this book. I was pulled into the story right from the get go, that's were I stayed until I had read every single word written, all the while watching the story play out in my head, my own personal mini movie. There are a rare few surprises in this story, some you will see coming, while others you won't. Some are large and some are small, but all aide in my the book the fantastic, I felt every single emotion that the characters went through, I went through the emotions at the same time. I might of even shed a tear or two. This series gets better and better with every book written. I highly recommend this series, if you are a shifter fan, I don't think you will be disappointed in reading them.
Weston was perfect !! right from the start him and Avery's story was packed with emotions. Their story was beautiful and the ending made me so freaking happy 😍
"She had no idea why, but she, Avery Foley - relative nobody, bait, and broken raven - had somehow managed to fluster Weston Novak"
"Avery Foley was big. She was crawl -in - his- heart - and - make- a -home -there - for - always big."
"He wanted her to come into her own and break him apart. He wanted her to force his heart open and claim him."
"Freedom existed in moments like these that she shared with the man who protected her heart."
"Your people convinced you that you were flawed, but to me you are perfect."
Natural attraction, lies, mixed memories and misunderstandings complicate raven shifter Avery Foley’s present after she escapes from the cruelty of her home flock making her too afraid to follow through with her original plan. As fate would have it, Avery’s desperation sends her begging to Weston Novak for a job just so she can eat!
Weston’s being plagued lately by visions he doesn’t understand and isn’t ready to share with his crew. Busy preparing to open his new business with Ryder, Weston agrees to interview Avery for a job but one look at her and Weston uncharacteristically wants her gone.
To this reader’s taste, this outing slams the emotions hard with two extremely sympathetic leads. Not to mention those Novak boys are something to love on a lot. Rating: 4.5stars
I enjoyed reading this book. Weston is such a strong alpha stud who has always cared for Avery since they were pen pals as kids. She is a timid girl from years of being suppressed by the ravens from home. It was nice seeing her blossom and grow confident. I tend to not like insecure characters but this was written in a way that even when Avery was scared, you can see the strength within. Their history is interesting and so is the plot with the council from her past. Lots of action and fast paced. I also liked the friendship between Weston and Ryder and the rest of his crew. I’m glad I reread this book and look forward to rereading the next one in this series.
I have to say this was a very enjoyable read. Weston and Avery deserved each other but I did dislike the other woman scenario. Avery was an immensely interesting character, fragile, weak, yet so amazingly strong to allow herself to go through what she did to get evidence. Unfortunately the two worst villains get off too easily but I am happy for how they ended up. I hated the ravens for everything they have done and am not sure if they deserve any help but I suppose that is what a dictatorship/cult is like. Hopefully the women will be able to get themselves out from under the thumb. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
