I liked the second book, this one, better than the first. This one held my interest and had more depth. The mystery was fun and tragic and made me a little sad. The main characters were fleshed out more and became less cartoon-like. I hope there is a third installment.
Cops and murder mysteries are plentiful but the circumstances and style of these aren't run of the mill. Quirky and gritty at the same time. If you like a character study more than a procedural this is a good choice. I always think it's a bonus when you can learn something new. Storylines went undeveloped or at least unresolved but is that setting up the 3rd book? Time will tell.
As I said in my previous review of Mark Hazard's 1st Harding Boys novel, Hazard writes complex Characters, involved in intricate webs of plot and planning. For me, that means un-put-downable books, and hours of enjoyment.
I love your books they are easy to read. I never want them to end. Thanks for giving me and your other fans a book or books I should say. That is entertaining a comfort to know that when I pick up one of your books I know I won't want to stop.
Another good read from Mark Hazard. Love these two detectives who inhabit these stories. Keeps you interested till the last page. I will definitely read more from this author.
