Branding Her: The final 3 episodes E11 Denial, E12 London & E13 Yes or No?
After several rough patches in her relationship and facing her demons, Kaylee is ready to move on to her “happily ever after.” But life has other ideas… Moving in together is not as easy as Kaylee dreamed. Not when Alex finds adjusting to living with a six-year-old difficult. Not when her mother keeps pretending she and Alex are just roommates. Meanwhile Kaylee delves deeper into the carnal world, allowing herself to be pushed beyond her limits.
Slowly, the sounds around her returned. She opened her eyes and the chill-out room came back into focus with the other people still scattered around and, thankfully, mostly still doing their own thing. But she soon realized three sets of eyes were on her: Alex’s and two others.
The couple beside them had been watching. They still were.
Kaylee was shocked to learn that she liked their eyes on her.
“May we join in?”
“Yes or no?” Alex asked Kaylee under her breath.
Instead of forging a closer bond, going further into kink seems to be pushing them apart because Kaylee suspects that Alex is hiding something, maybe even pulling away. It doesn’t help that work demands so much of her time, creating distance. And then her son’s father comes a-knockin’.
With so much going on, it’s no wonder someone calls “red.” Will Kaylee ever get her fairy tale ending or is this truly, finally the end?
BRANDING HER The final book of the Branding Her series... BOOK 6 : Episodes 11, 12 & 13
E11: Denial
E12: London
E13: Yes or No?
I fell in love with this series the instant that I started reading the first episodes. Reading how the characters grow and develop through out this series has made me lose sleep just to finish each episode. The final 3 episodes were both heartwarming and sad at the same time. Heartwarming in that you see the full transformations of Alex becoming a Mom to Ryan as well as Ryan accepting Alex as his mom. Also seeing the relationship of Alex and Kaylee come to a heartfelt decision about their future.. The most surprising transformation was that of Gail finally accepting Alex as someone other than Kaylee's roommate. The sex scenes were intense and orgasmic. My only complaint is that I wish this was not the end of the series because I felt like where it ended while fitting for the couple, was rushed and left me want in at least another 2 or 3 episodes to see how this couple is planning and having their wedding. Especially since their honeymoon see would have been orgasmic. And I would have liked more interaction with Ryan's dad. With that being said though This book is worth the time to read. Definitely want to read more from Alex Porters books!
I really enjoyed this entire series... Except for the very ending. And it was bad enough that it moved my star rating from 4.5 to 2.
*spoilers*
After 13 parts of decent storytelling and character development, the story just abruptly ends.... Not only that, it ends instead of dealing with what should be a major crisis! And here's the spoiler so last chance to bail.
Kaylee and Alex have sex in which Kaylee completely ignores a warning to slow down, and then continues to ignore the use of their safe word. Then, to make things worse, instead of talking about it, both partners become closed off and distant. At the same time, the man who sexually assaulted Kaylee and got her pregnant comes back into her life for garbage reasons and all of a sudden it's completely fine. Also at the same time, Kaylee's mother magically decides that since her prospective in-laws are rich, she'll stop her religious crusade and be fine with her daughter's relationship...and that's also completely fine with everyone. No one is communicating, everyone is suspiciously fine with some pretty questionable things.....and then a proposal magically makes it all better and the story is over???? I call shenanigans. This was a horribly lazy attempt to wrap things up for everyone as fast as possible and it shows. I loved the story but the ending left such a bad taste in my mouth that it's mostly ruined it for me....and that really sucks.
I love this series. Its an easy cheerful read. They have a lovely relationship something we could only wish for!! I love both Alex and Kay and I hope there stories continues!!!
Ok! I have to Amit this book brought so many tears of happiness for Kaylee and Alex. I’m sure when Kaylee and Alex broke the news to Ryan. He was so excited as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed every part of these books, I hope there are many more Alex and Kaylee books to come. I can't wait for more. Fantastic read would highly recommend it.
I read and enjoyed the six books in this series. I am delighted that the project was completed by this talented writer. It can be difficult for some writers, in this genre of fiction, to finish what they start. Dividing this storyline into different books and then into thirteen episodes could have been a problem. For this writer, the strategy was a success. A strong plotline and engaging characters made Branding Her a wonderful series.
Like any reader, I liked some of these books more than others. Yet, I stayed invested in the series and read each new book as it was published. The author didn't use cliffhangers or other cliché short cuts to develop the characters or advance the story. The books are strong enough to stand alone but work best when read in sequence.
The series finale, in book 6, wasn't my favorite. It is good book. It must be difficult for any author to end the adventures, the characters and the world that took so much work to create. Still in my opinion, Denial was too cruel, London was too disconnected and Yes or No was too predictable. What matters most, however, is the creativity and the story telling of Alex Porter.
The author does a great job of portraying love trials and tribulations of two young women who find love together. The book deals with a whole range of emotions and life's challenges. This is a wonderful story first well written work going through the whole family dynamic. Great job helping the non gay understand how difficult life can be for gay people. Recommended reading.
