I am 50% of the way through this box set and can say it is a fantastic collection of shifter stories! The authors in this compilation are great story tellers. I can't wait to read the rest of the stories because I have no doubt they'll be just as good! I'm going to attempt to put the links to my reviews of the individual stories here. If it works, I'll add more as I get the rest read.

This is a fantastic collection of shapeshifter stories and I enjoyed each and every story, there are 14 stories written by various extremely talented authors covering big cats, wolf, dragon and bear shapeshifters.
What you’ll find in these stories are hero’s laced with hot, sexy and prime, defiant fiery women, passion, the need to dominate, enemies, drama, suspense, intrigue and erotic heart-pounding sensual romance (Some of the erotic loves scenes are explicitly detailed so I recommend that you are over 18yrs) The story-lines and plots are well thought out and written and the scene description is excellent and the characters are well developed with personalities.
This book has everything a fan of paranormal romance would want in a book and I definitely recommend this book to shapeshifter fans.

Out of fourteen stories in this anthology, four were major fails in my book, but more than half of the stories were decent if not thoroughly enjoyable. Overall it's a decent anthology--it could have used some editing but it had something to appeal to many different audiences. My thoughts on the various stories are below:

Highland Wolf Pact-- Authors really shouldn't try to write stories set in medieval Scotland (or England) without proper knowledge. Note to author--the daughter of an English earl is NOT a viscountess (the son of an earl is not even necessarily a viscount). So many historical errors and badly written Scottish dialogue to boot. The one redeeming aspect was the origin it established for werewolves; I haven't seen that done anywhere else (and it was intriguing).

Dragon's Succubus-a germ of a decent plot but a major fail in executing it. It was disjointed, confusing and even worse Scottish dialogue than the previous story (nearly unreadable in places). It also needed serious editing: Note to author-- living beings come from good stock, plants come from good stalk unless you're talking about a pod person, which you weren't.

Just Bearly in Time- this was actually a cute little story with a little drama, a little humor and some good characters in a paranormal short story. As the title suggests it involved bear shifters and was nicely done.

Claiming their Royal Mate--This is part one of a series and I could swear I've read this exact story before so this may not be the first time in print for this one. Not a big deal to me, but it is a cliff hanger. It's a solid story. It didn't really pull me into to the extent that I've ever looked for the rest of it, but that's just because I didn't care for this authorverse (the rules/setting) for this series.

Shift Once for Love--I started a scathing review for this, feeling that it was just awful. I found it impossible to get into, much less follow the twists and turns and completely unbelievable plot points at times; but when I started to refer to it as the Romeo and Juliet does 'Twilight', I realized why I didn't like it--I'm an adult. This story is essentially a YA story with some badly-written, graphic sexual references in an effort to seem like a New Adult story. Seriously, the first page had the h thinking of her vagina as her 'inner cave'. I should have just stopped reading there but no, I actually read the whole thing and immediately regretted it. If you're 18-22 you might enjoy this; if you a huge fan of star-crossed lovers and Twilight you might enjoy this. If you're over 30, save yourself the aggravation and skip it. Without the graphic sexual references, this probably would be a decent YA story, but as it is it's just 5 cringes (my own negative stars rating system).

His Bear Hands--worth the price of the anthology itself. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The h and H were interesting and 'real'. I loved Zoe, the h, in particular. Geeks are some of my favorite characters and while she was geeky, she wasn't a know-it-all as evidenced by the electrical issue at the beginning. Her hatred of mornings was a very humorous thread throughout and all of the secondary characters were interesting with plenty of potential for future stories. The writing was solid and it had a fairly decent plot for a short story.

Claimed by the Dragons--this story surprised me in a good way. Usually with paranormal menage there's some flimsy 'rule' or 'law' requiring two males to share a female. This story didn't do that. With all of the various plot points in stories like this: woman purchased as a bride for a dragon shifter alpha, develops feelings for the man who bought her for his alpha and finally the menage aspect, the story didn't follow a single stereotypical storyline. Everyone behaved like adults and yet there was still plot, drama and sex aplenty. The author's bio following the story mentioned her taking typical themes and tropes in stories and finding fresh perspectives. I'd say she succeeds wonderfully here. She certainly got me interested in reading the previous books in this series and subsequent stories (I'm pretty sure I've guessed who the secondary character Claudia ends up with in a subsequent book, but I'd like to read it)

Banished Scoundrel --I felt like there was a lot of backstory that I needed to know about the various players to better understand what was going on plot-wise but then I got to the part where shifting made the h horny and realized that the sex was the point of this and the plot, such as it was, existed only to provide some settings for them to have sex in and drama to add intensity to the sex.

The Alpha's Captive --No, just no. The single redeeming aspect to this juvenile trope was the h demanding to be treated with respect by two utterly unlikeable Hs (menage between h and two brothers).

A Dragon's Bite-a good story, the little boy was the best part of it for me. There is a BDSM plotline that is obviously an aspect of the other stories in the series--decently done, nothing really different from any BDSM story just set among dragon shifters which makes it a bit unique.

Vega Brothers: Julius --I'm not fond of the premise to the story, but I liked the four brothers. Julius and Ava made a really cute couple. The whole way that the two of them meet and their date was quite entertaining. Overall a very enjoyable story.

Bear Consumed --the prologue and epilogue were rather strange but the story itself was fine. I liked the fact that it wasn't love at first sight for them, rather a life-long friendship that became more.

Urban Encounters: Coyote --reading this reminded me of high school english class (I specifically thought of DH Lawrence's 'Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man'). I can't fault the writing skill that went into creating a story that had the feel of literature, in fact I'm impressed with the writing; that just doesn't make it any easier to get into or feel engaged with any of the characters.

Anna and the Bear -I didn't finish this one, it was too confusing to figure out what was going on. I didn't care for the writing style in general or the h and just gave up on it halfway through.

Review of Julius (The Bear Shifters of Vega Ranch, #1) by Kim Fox
Great start to this new series. Julius is great, hilarious, ready & willing to fight for his mate. Ava is…special but brave after her root canal fiasco which is so comical & ironically catapults her into the best thing for her. It’s so realistic because in life things don’t always happen as wanted, be optimistic, wait for the silver lining. Author always does an excellent job spinning the stories. Can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the brothers.

Paws and Claws 4
I am going to review each of the stories individually.
1 Highland Wolf Pact by Selena Kitt
I have read many of Ms Kitt’s works and this is one of her less erotic stories. Don’t get me wrong, this is still an excellent story, well written, a good story line and characters that you can get caught up in. In fact, as far as I’m concerned this is now my favourite of her stories. I can, therefore, honestly give this 5*.
2 Dragon’s Succubus by Jami Brumfield
I loved this story. It’s a nice mix of mainly romance but with elements of a crime story. The heroine is charged with murder and the hero has to seek out the truth so that she can be released. Throw in demons, angels, druids, skin walkers and dragons, stir it all around and you manage to get a HEA. Well worth 5*.
3 Just Bearly in Time by Alexis Dare
This is another really good story. The title is very appropriate since the hero saved the heroine just in time. This story again merits 5*.
4 Claiming Their Royal Mate part 1 by Andie Devaux
Sorry I have only given this story a quick flick through. This is a serialized book and I do not like serialized books. I find this type of story to be very expensive and out of the reach to those of us who are on very restricted finances. Taking the separate parts together this story would cost in total £6.21 for parts 2-4 (part 2 costs £1.99, part 3 costs £2.23 and part 4 costs £1.99). Being serialized and having a cliff-hanger ending I do not feel that I can give this more than 3*.
5 Shift Once for Love by Savannah May
This is an OK story with a slight twist which is why I have given it 4*. It isn’t the best story I’ve read but it is a long way from being the worst.
6 His Bear Hands by Layla Nash
I really enjoyed this story. I loved the storyline, as well as the characters. There is also a twist regarding one of the lesser characters. This story well merits 5*.
7 Claimed by the Dragon by Cara Wylde
I have read other stories in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them. I also thoroughly enjoyed this one. I am impressed at how different the stories have been and how consistently good both the storylines and characters are. This story well deserves 5*. In fact all her stories in this series, so far, deserves 5*.
8 Banished Scoundrel by Anita Philmar
I enjoyed this story very much. I haven’t read anything by Ms Philmar before so I was unsure of what to expect. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised. The storyline was good as were the characters. Although this story has a HEA it is part of a series. I will be keeping an eye out for more of her stories, especially the ones to complete this series. This story deserves 5*.
9 The Alpha’s Captive by Crystal L Shaw
This story is OK. It’s not quite on a par with other stories in this collection though. The story line is only OK, although there are some scenes where the sex is almost rape. The hero almost seems to switch characters in the story and the heroine is a bit vapid. I’m only giving this story 3*.
10 A Dragon’s Bite by Sophie Stern
This is another author how is new to me and if this is the level of story that she normally produces she is going to be another author that I’m going to keep an eye out for. The storyline and characters were excellent. In fact it had my overactive tear ducts (that’s my excuse when I get caught crying at a book, film, or even advert) going for a while. This story more than merits 5*.
11 Vega Brothers: Julius by Kim Fox
This story was quite good but I must admit that I have read another series with the same main theme – 4 brothers having to marry to save their home. The characters, however, were well drawn which bumps this story from being 4* to 5*.
12 Bear Consumed by Ava Hunt
This is actually the first story in this collection that I have already read. I enjoyed it the first time around and still enjoyed reading it for a second time. The storyline is good with a unique theme. The characters have also been drawn well. This story merits 5*.
13 Encounters: Urban Fox by D B Story
This is another new author to me and as far as this story goes I must admit that I loved it. This is a very different storyline to any that I have read before and may not be to the taste of others. As far as I am concerned, going on storyline, characterization and sheer penmanship this deserves more than 5* but since that is the most that I can give I am giving it 5*.
14 Anna and the Bear by Aurora Woodlove
This last story is from another new to me author. The storyline was good as were the characters. I am going to give it 5*.
Round up
It is rare to find a collection that has so many stories that I have not read before, only one out of fourteen. Although there are several that are less than 5*, I am still going to give this collection an overall rating of 5*.

This is a great set of paranormal stories from some of my favorite authors. I have read some before and some were new to me.

I love to get these sets as you get a great mix of stories for a low price and can discover some new authors and series.

One of my favorites is Crystal L. Shaw 's The Alpha's Captive. Twin brother Alphas, Luke and Owen, find their human mate, Emma, when she is investigating shifters. She believes there are secrets being kept and wants to reveal the truth. They didn't expect a human mate but now they will work to protect her from the danger on the horizon. It is a quick read and great for those who like menage paranormal romance stories. The brothers are very different in personality and it is fun to see them adapt to their human mate. Emma is not going to make it easy for them either.

Kim Fox's Vega Brothers: Julius is part of a fun series. Julius and his brothers don't want mates but they need wives if they want to keep their home. Their father wants to make sure they find happiness. Julius has one month to get married. He finds Ava on a matchmaking site and invites her for a date. Poor Ava has had a bad day. She lost her job and her boyfriend after making some decisions while under the influence of pain killers. She doesn't even remember signing up for the site. His call is an opportunity to get away from it all. The fireworks start from their first meeting and neither is eager to go back to their old ways, Julius describes himself as a manwhore who loves curvy women. He has no interest in settling down. However, the picture of Ava on the site really connects with him. Ava feels the same connection and is shocked someone as gorgeous as him has interest in her. The romance moves very fast but secrets can end it all. I liked the characters. I don't always like the guys that have sex with anyone at anytime. It tends to put me off but Julius has another side. He really does care about Ava and want to treat her with love and respect. Ava has not had an easy time of it and has some self-esteem problems. She really feels at home with him and lets things move faster than she normally would.

Aurora Woodlove's Anna and the Bear is a good story about a shifter and the woman who fate has in store for him. Adam knows Anna is the one for him and is finally ready to make that move. Anna has been hurt a lot in the past and is not interested in pursuing more pain. She feels the amazing connection too but tries everything she can to push him away. I really liked Adam. He knows how to be patient and work around Anna's issues. They have an interesting past between that you learn about and it does make you wonder what would have happened if it has went differently back then. Anna is a mess with lots of control issues and I wonder more about her childhood and how some of them might have developed. I would have liked to know a little more about both of their pasts. The book focuses on this intense meeting at the club and the period immediately after so the story takes place over a short timeline. Adam has a twin and I look forward to reading his story.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

I love anthologies, but this one was the best I have ever read. All of the stories are incredible. Selena Kitt's Highland Wolf Pact is longer than the rest and is about sweet caring Lady Sibyl Blackthorne, who was raised by a loving father, and taught to use a bow and arrow to defend herself. Her father dies and her uncle forces her into a betrothal with cruel Laird Allistair MacFalon. He wants power and wealth, and tries to start a war with the wolf shifters. Sibyl flees and is rescued by Raife, the wolf shifter leader. Sibyl is loving, kind, and stands by her convictions. The wolf shifters endure a lot of cruelty and pain and in order to save the man she loves and the other wolf shifters, she might be forced to sacrifice herself. The stories in this book include a succubus and a dragon who find themselves as being fated mates, but he is sent to arrest her for a murder she didn't commit. There are stories about bears and wolves. His Bear Hands is a funny story about a computer geek who unwittingly helps a mobster, and when she tries to undo the wrong she did, finds herself running for her life. Simon, a bear shifter is hired to keep her safe, but she is so naïve, she gets into one scrape after another, and has to be continually saved by Simon. Dragon's Bite is such an emotional, sweet, loving story about a woman who hasn't come to terms with the lose of her husband and baby. She is hired by a dragon shifter to be a nanny to his sweet young son. She immediately forms a bond with the young boy, and then with the father. Is she getting a second chance at a family? Vegas Brothers-Julius is a funny story about four confirmed bachelor bear shifters, who have to find mates within a year or lose their ranch. They have a unique way of determining who will find his mate first. Julius loses, and while wooing his prospective mate, his three brothers are both a help and a hindrance. All of the stories in thisanthology can be read as stand alone books, but some are from series. They are all truly wonderful, and every one is a keeper.

Oh my Selena is out doing herself as ALWAYS and this is my first Shifter Book of hers and I loved. Which I'm sure you all well too. Raife is one hell'v'a SEXY Wulva a wolf shifter and his pack lives out in the mountains next to the Mc land where he see's the VERY Feisty and gutsy Syblia who was sent up from England to Middle Match on the boarders of Scotland, to marry Alaister who was set up by her uncle/step dad to join the families with the kings blessing, but Syblia is not like what a Lady in the 1800's should be like and I live her character ESPECIALLY when she frees 's She Wolf', THEN Alistair to a tree & it's here with her or should I say their lives changes.
I loved the majority of each & everyone of them even though I hadn't read any of the other Authors books apart from Selena & I will carry on reading their books.
I recommend this 14 novel Boxset BRILLIANT

These are great, well written stories I did not want to put down and wished were longer.
Dragon Bite: Ashley was out exploring Dragon Isle when she got caught by a rain storm. She thought a house was empty, it wasn't. She got warm and dry in bed, it was occupied. She met Stuart and became his nanny. This is a not so typical family love story.
Anna and the Bear: Adam sees Anna at a club on the dance floor, gets behind her and holds her. Anna feels instant calm and then freaks out. She spends most of the book running away. This is a story about whether working on a relationship with the right person will get you to the good stuff.

If you like shifter romances, this is an absolutely amazing deal. You get wolves, dragons, tigers and a whole lot more at an incredible price. The stories are fairly interesting and I really enjoyed the historical from Selena Kitt in the Highland Wolf Pact. It was a lovely cross of a typical historical romance with a shifter novel. The Wulvers really get to you. I received an ARC of the ebook for my honest opinion. And in my opinion you are getting a great set of stories in this boxed set.

What you have here is 14 stories that will have you reading well into the night. You are transported to the world of shifters, bear, wolf, dragon and even a coyote. The authors of these stories have done a wonderful job of weaving stories that are both exciting and very hot and steamy. I have read other stories by some of the authors and now can add new authors to my list to follow. I highly recommend this collection of stories. This was an amazing collection of shifter stories. It covered many varieties of shifters as well as many different scenarios. I liked even that one of the stories was about a male human and a coyote and from his perspective the whole way through.
The whole time I was reading this I kept thinking what could possibly be next. Wolves, bears, dragons, cowboys, you never knew what was next.

Full of surprises this anthology, with such an excellent set of popular authors. You have Selena Kit with "Highland Wolf Pack" the start of a great series . Layla Nash with "His Bear Hands". Cara Wylde "Claimed By the Dragons". "Vega Brothers Julius" by Kim Fox is part of a series I have read before. Ava Hunt "Bear Consumed". So many more stories to choose from and each one different. A big thank you to Selena Kit for the amazing review copy. Loved it. Highly recommend this anthology.

All were good shifter stories. The only thing that got to me was that some of them left me feeling like they were cliffhangers. I like the different shifters. I felt like they all faced uncertainty about how they would be seen. It is sort of like when someone has a visible handicap. They are being judged by others, who see themselves as perfect.
