An addition to the Need for Speed series describes some of the major races, cars, and key figures connected with American stock car racing sponsored by NASCAR. Simultaneous.
I found this book looking for something short and interesting to do a book report on. The book is NASCAR the need for speed by Mike Johnstone. It's got some good facts about a few of the big name tracks and the main brand of cars. It even has some of the history about racing. Such as past champions. In the beginning of the book it introduces those to who dont know anything about nascar or just starting to learn about it.then it takes you in to some of its history. From their it talks about Chevy… probably more of an iconic car for NASCAR. Then it talks about the “ Great American Race” the Daytona 500 and mentions a few more recognizable races, and talks about a couple of the drivers. And that pretty much sums up the book I Personally thought it was a good book. It's a got a lot of cool facts and good detail. It's a great book if you don't know what NASCAR is But want to know about it it probably could've had more facts and some more drivers but, it was still pretty good book. If you looking for a long book this isn't the one you're looking for It teaches the basics of The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. This book is probably meant for 7th grade or under its not too challenging and a lot of pictures, and Big font small pages. It’s only 30 pages of reading. It’s made by turtleback books who has produced over 9,000 hardback books. Made for schools.
