I like my women the way I like my sports . . . Wet.
BLAKE Swimming is my world. I’ve worked for years to get here, and I have a real shot at the Olympics. Unless I get kicked out of school for my rowdy behavior.
So when Coach tells me his daughter’s in town, and it’s my job to train her? “Yes sir” is the only possible answer.
Too bad Tia’s completely off-limits. Being around her all the time is more than tempting -- it’s torture.
TIA I’m here to swim. To get to know the father I haven’t seen in a decade.
Blake makes me feel things no one else ever has… But the last thing I need is more heartbreak.
Too bad he looks even better out of the water than in it. I just have to stay strong. Right?
"Stroker" is a full-length bad boy sports romance with no cheating and a happy ending.
Teagan Kade thinks talking about yourself in the third person is silly, just like her collection of snow globes and rare manga. When she's not being silly, she's hanging out with her own Storm and two children in the south of Australia, dreaming of new characters and torturous ways they can get themselves into trouble. Teagan loves hearing from her readers, all of whom are as dear to her heart as salted caramel cookies. Shoot her an email at: teagan@teagankade.com. She doesn't bite.
I found this book to be ok. Although I am tired of man-whores. Can't a guy be a good-looking, world-class athlete and not be a whore? There were some grammatical errors and it irked me to see "googles" when it should be "goggles." " He took his googles off."??? Really?
Recommendation: Yes, this was funny, sexy and decently written. Will appeal to those who aren't afraid of very coarse, descriptive and raunchy writing from a male POV.
Type: Stand Alone
Pages: 369
Pricing: Good, this book is available on Kindle Unlimited and is only $2.99 to buy the E-book.
Summary: +funny dialogue -almost too raunchy to handle at times +hot male lead -/+strange yet interesting plot -weird antagonist +/- awkward love interest
Full Review:
Stroker is the first book I have read by author Teagan Kade and after reading it I still cannot make up my mind if her style is something I will want to read again. Blake, the initial POV is a walking set of testicles with a untameable sexual appetite that spends his days either swimming in the water or in someone lady parts. He is written as a walking, talking cliché of a college frat daddy type. I can handle all kinds of pervy but the choice writing to describe Blake is almost too much. In the beginning he is set up to be an alpha male but by the end of the book the guy is a total push over that gets owned more than once by the antagonist. I enjoyed the funny dialogue between him and his guy friends and the interaction he has with his coach. All the dong-isms used in this book had me cracking up. Seriously, who would think to use to term porridge gun? But the complete lack of interest in anything female outside of their anatomy makes me less inclined to believe the possibility of a love story so quickly.
Tia, the alternate POV, is the daughter of the hard-headed swimming coach. He brings her into the fold after much time apart and gives her to Blake to teach and prep for Olympic try outs. Of course Blake see's her and immediately thinks she is different, and wants her and well.. you know the rest. The plot is interesting but strange in itself. The way that everything happens is kind of out of the blue and there isn't a whole lot of detail leading up to it. The antagonist is awkward and there are several holes and things left to be assumed when it comes to his motives and exactly how he got in such bad shape. Tia is pretty one-dimensional but spicy and had enough spunk to keep me interested. The ending is pretty cliché but was full of enough action to keep my eyes open after a long day until I finished it. One thing I will say is that I wish authors would address the fact that if you build your main man up to be this horse dong wielding swordsman and then your love interest is a petite tiny virgin, please take into account that he that yields said mighty sword isn't going to be able to comfortably go to town on someone with no experience. I mean honestly? I love it when authors include funny quips and add realistic sex elements to books like these. Just sayin'.
Disclaimer: I obtained a copy of this book from Kindle Unlimited. This review is my opinion and mine alone. ( Trust me I am still paying for my subscription and I make no money off this blog. I do it all for the bookie.)
First off let me say that Tia has got to be one of my favorite characters that Teagan Kade has written! She's cute, a smartass, doesn't put up with anybody's crap, and she's a gamer. What's not to love? And when she meets Blake for the first time had me freaking dying laughing!
Tia is forced to move from her home with her mother in Orlando to live in an entirely different state and attend a school where her father is the swimming coach. Oh, and she hasn't seen her father in 10 years. She gets and even bigger surprise when she gets to Carver University and finds out that the swim team bad boy will now be training her daily to fix her technique and she'll be living with him and his brother. Could her new life get any more awkward? When she meets Blake for the first time she realizes two things right off the bat--first, he's hot,and second, he's a jerk.
Blake has screwed around one too many times and now he's forced to train Coach Reed's daughter or get kicked out of school. Since swimming is his life and they Olympic trials are around the corner, he takes his punishment because he has no choice. When he lays eyes Coach's daughter for the first time, he's not sure if he'll be able to handle this. She's hot, she's mouthy, and she's totally off limits. But the independent and not at all timid Tia is enjoying this, since she knows if Blake does anything stupid, he's out of the school. Not only do they banter back and forth like they've known each other forever, their quick friendship that develops flows easily. At the same time, their attraction to each other heats up the pages, but they both know the risks involved should anything happen, and both are afraid to act on their lust.
When things start happening behind the scenes with the team, nobody knows what to think. There are suspenseful moments that you won't see coming and you'll be surprised how it all plays out. Not only did I love the chemistry between Tia and Blake, I loved how they interacted with each other and how believable it all was. Most times I like Teagan's bad boys better, but this time Tia was the one that kept me hooked. She was an awesome character and I loved reading about her and what she did throughout the book. Great freaking story!!
**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Blake is known around Collage as a Swimmer and a Playboy, not even able to remember his one night stands names. But after one to many stunts at School he is told he has one more shot, if she screws up again he will be expelled from school. Coach Reed is the one to hand out his punishment, and it happens to be training his daughter to compete in swimming. After Tia enters Blake's life he acts and seems different, all those around him can see the change in him, and he see's it too, all he can think about is the one girl he can not have. Over the time they spend together feelings are formed on both sides and they will have to see if they can survive through the rumors as well as her dads reaction when he finds out.
What I enjoyed most about Stroker is seeing A man who really acts like a teenager turn into a Man and want to better himself, for him as well as Tia. How he stops his playboy ways, not sharing everything with his team Mates (brothers) and being there for Tia when ever she needs him even if at times she doesnt listen to him and he has no clue what she is thinking. Watching Tia come in and living with two strange guys but becoming apart of them and their group of friends. Of course there is the really huge jerk in the story that will try to destroy it all, but when it comes to Blake and Tia they know that when they are together they can face anything.
Another Great story from Teagan Kade, I love her writing style and can never put them down as every chapter leaves you wanting more. This story has a Playboy Swimmer that isnt afraid of anything, gets himself in trouble and has a job to do to take up his nights for as long as Coach seems fit to learn some responsibilities, but ends up falling for the girl that he must never have or even touch, A girl that has been through so much in the last year, come out a strong Woman who knows what it is she wants and what she wants is Blake, A love story and happy ending! If you like stories like this, then Stroker is a must!!
A good sexy read. Just a few details I felt were missing but still if you're a swimming fan. AKA a really hot version of Michael Phelps then you'll probably enjoy this book. Out hero is on the road to the Olympics if he starts taking life more seriously. Our heroine is off limits to the womanizing hero or she is supposed to be. But she's really hot and he wants her but she doesn't fall for his BS, I'm Gods gift to women act and she tells him so.
Spoiler: This is a pet peeve of mine. Almost every new adult book I've read lately....and that's a lot of books...all end with the heroine having babies or being pregnant. Can't they end up in the honeymoon phase? Having a baby....so not sexy for me. I'll probably get complaints for writing this but that's my honest opinion.
Yes!! Awesome book!! When I can’t put it down and I have to force myself to that’s when I know it’s a good book!
I love how Blake and Tia first meet. I just couldn’t believe how Coach Reed put Tia in Blakes care. Then having her live in Blake and Billy‘s apartment, you could tell he’s been an absent father. I felt a connection between Blake and Tia right away. The struggles they both go through with Ethan pull them closer together. I love what a book has me laughing. I didn’t really feel the connection between Tia and Lacey. But in the end they become best of friends. In the back of my mind I was hoping that maybe Billy and Lacey what hook up. I would’ve also like to know what happened to Billy when Blake was in juvenile detention. But I would also like to see Billy story!!
Oh, my!!! This book is ... everything! Scorching hot ... sexy ... sassy and sweet ... funny and hilarious. I held my breath and trembled on the edge of my seat with tension, I giggled and laughed out loud and everything in between. This crime story-slash-romance is one of those books you can't put down once you start reading, one that you wish would never end! I loved Blake and Tia's story more than I can tell.
Blake and Tia steam up your Kindle with their banter, computer games, and some steamy spicy pool time. Blake the swimmer, Tia, the coaches daughter he has to train for punishment until it becomes more, but their is a person working against both of them that they might be too late to stop. Can they figure it all before it gets too dangerous? An emotional read full of twist, turns, action, and more. Can't wait to read what she has next.
Arc review for honest review. Blake Johnson is on the carver's swimming team and knows for his playboy ways . when coach reed ask him to help with his daughter Tia reed as part of a punishment she is one he'll be happy to take forever. this was a fantastic story lots going on in this story And well worth the read.
I found Tia strong and humorous. When Tia meets Blake she calls it like she sees it, I loved it. I found it has suspense. You never new when the antagonist was going to hit. In my opinion Teagan Kade did a good job of portraying the drug issue. In my opinion it's a typical college romance. In my opinion it's a little predictable, but I was okay with that. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Not a bad read but not great either. The ending felt very rushed and parts of the story were all over the place. I am glad that I found this as a free read, I might not have been as forgiving if I had spent money on this one.
I continue to enjoy this series. This is book four and so far I do not find them repetitive. Each story hold their own even though all the theme are around sport. They are all engaging.
Bad boy Blake a swimmer is being punished by his Coach by forcing him to train his daughter Tia. Tia is adorable, feisty and can hold her own. This was a fun read.
I'm a big Teagan Kade fan. This college sports romance had a chick who was tough and sassy and a bloke who was dedicated, loyal and playful. It was fast paced and engaging and the epilogue was just lovely.
This was a pretty good book. The characters were likeable and there was a lot of drama/action to keep you reading. I really enjoyed it. I loved that it had an epilogue and it kinda wrapped up the story as a whole.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review. Blake and Tia...a special named couple for me. Especially Blake, thank you Teagan. Blake is a talented swimmer but his playboy ways are spoiling his chances of furthering his career. His penance, to tutor his coach's daughter, Tia Reed. From the first page , this story had me laughing so much, love you Billy, boys eh!!! All the drama of the swimming events, friendships, loyalties betrayed, drama, drugs ,new love and so much more. The relationship between Blake and Tia is a slow burn, building up to finding out about each other and then...wham, off like a starting pistol. This was more than boy meets girl, boy loves girl etc. There was love, passion, relationships mended , hopes, dreams and making things right. A beautiful, hot, sexy, heartwarming , funny read. Loved it all.
Blake is a womanizer and he likes to party a lot. Well all the got him into trouble and now he has to coach his coaches daughter Tia. Tia is a smart very out spoken young woman. Tia doesn't let Blake intimidate her. Blake is jealous about other guys hitting on Tia. Blake becomes protective over Tia. The more time that Tia and Blake spend together the more Blake is having feelings for Tia. Tia is also starting to have feelings for Blake. I really enjoy reading this book. It is full of surprises and laughable moments mixed in. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another great read from Teagan Kade, I just love her bad boys! I loved Blake and his bad boy ways. That of course all changes when he meets Tia. All the books i've read of Teagan's not only have the sexy bad boys & the woman that tame them but there is always a bit of suspense with the story line that adds that little bit extra. Every book I read of Teagan's gets hotter every time. And I have to say I just love her epilogue's. I'm a sucker for a HEA.
Teagan Kade bad boy sports series is a guilty little pleasure for me. I also find myself enjoying the romantic read and the humorous moments. The bad boys, are always just bad enough that you crave more of them. While her writing draws you into the story. Stroker is no different it is a very enjoyable read about a bad boy and a women strong enough to take him on.
I was kind of disappointed in this book. It was all over the place. For example, there was a section in the book where Blake finds out that he made to the Olympics, but then they're talking about Blakes' and Tias' engagement. It didn't even discuss how Blake proposed or anything. I did finish book though, but I did lose interest.
