Discovering our Dignity, a 22-week Bible study, gives us modern-day advice from women of the Bible.Ancient wisdom, sage advice, sorrowful failures and woundedness…In Discovering our Dignity, we learn that women of the Old and New Testament were sometimes as flawed and broken as we can be. Yet, the power of God worked in their lives.Through their stories recorded in Scripture, they reach out to touch our “present” in a tender, honest and loving way –woman to woman. Please New to Walking with Purpose? We recommend that all women new to WWP begin study with our foundational course, Opening Your The Starting Point, regardless of their Bible study experience. We believe this 22-session course is an incredibly effective guide to deep, lasting transformation of the heart. All WWP parish-based programs should offer Opening Your Heart each season in addition to any advanced WWP studies offered.

I enjoyed this study of women in the Bible. Some I knew a lot about, and some of the women chosen were a surprise but led to great discussion as always! It wasn’t as cohesive as her other studies but I like how she tied Mary back to Eve. Solid study for a women’s small group!
I read this book as part of our WWP bible study.. the end of the study was cancelled due to COVID... so I just finished it on my own. Again with all of WWP books... there are days when they are spoon feeding us like we are in elementary school and then some of her answers are so far out there without an references to how she got her answer that my group generally doesn't agree. We love learning about all the women in the bible although the title of the chapter may have a woman's name but the majority of the chapter would be about men....
This study did a good job of making me look at many things from a completely new lens. For many of the studies I really felt like Brenninkmeyer did a great job of drawing connections and giving new perspective. Other times a bit contrived. I was excited to study the women of the Bible but was disappointed at some of the women who were left out (Judith, Sarah wife of Tobias, Delilah, Mary Magdalen, the woman at the well, to name a few).
Finishing this study feels like only breaking through the cracks to see and learn from the many stories of the women of the Bible. For those who have been told, or come to believe, that women are not named or relevant in the Bible, this study will bring names to life with their the roles and lessons still relevant today, as these women of the Bible guide us to know ourselves through their journeys.

I loved this study! It did a great job relating the women of the Bible, both Old and New Testament, to the lives we are living today. Highly recommend any Walking with Purpose study to deepen our faith and relationship with God, ourselves and those in our lives. ❤️
Insightful content. Author Lisa Brenninkmeyer consistently digs deeply into Scripture and commentary to bring forth greater understanding by bringing to light aspects of the people and their culture that the casual reader would not be aware of otherwise.
A study of the women of the Bible using Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Seeing the flaws of these women and yet the dignity they preserved gives women everywhere hope. Great discussion topics over a 22-week study.
