Mutually Assured Destruction: 10 Plays About Brothers and Sisters

Rate this book
A century's worth of sibling squabbles is boiled down into ten vignettes in this era-hopping tribute to family. Each short play explores a distinct facet of brother and sisterhood, from fights over who caused mom and dad to split (1985 - I'm Pretty Sure This Is Your Fault) to daring escape plots that only two sisters could pull off (1922 - Very Very Cold Feet). No matter the decade, audiences will see themselves in these ten distinct shorts about the undeniable bond between siblings through the ages.

3.5 stars - A great show to produce with a high school. Makes a great intro to scene study since all the plays are for two characters and deal with recognizable relationship dynamics, and the 1-story-per-decade format gives practice doing historical research. A few plot points seem to get repeated from play to play but the time-hopping aspect keeps them seeming fresh and it does capture the sense that the more things seem to change, the more they stay the same.
