Destiny can never be denied...

Heath Mason is an Alpha by birthright but he has never been allowed to run his own pack. His playboy lifestyle and refusal to settle down with a mate has meant he's been sidelined to run the family business empire, a job he is actually good at, and he takes the Deerborne Pack's finances from strength to strength.

Without Heath, the pack's company, Deerborne Industries, probably would have gone under, and his father throws a special dinner to applaud Heath's efforts in securing the pack's fortunes. Heath is bitter that his father has overlooked him for the position of Alpha in the Deerborne Pack, instead giving the responsibility to his younger brother, Callum. He has no interest in the back slapping event and is plotting an early escape when he smells a scent that stops him in his tracks.

Justin Slater is an omega who will do anything to avoid commitment. Used by his last pack when he was in heat, all he wants is the operation that will finally rid him of the curse of being an omega. He lives like a hermit, trying to stay below the radar so that he doesn't attract any unwanted attention, but when he comes face to face with Alpha, Heath Mason, at the restaurant where he is working, Justin realizes that there are some things he can't run from.

With both shifters reluctant to commit, it looks like destiny will have to wait, but when Justin is attacked by a gang of rogue shifters, he finds that the Alpha has already started to fulfill the role of his protector, and slowly, the barriers they have both erected to avoid getting close to anyone start to come down.

As Heath's natural instinct starts to kick in and Justin begins to feel overwhelmed by his feelings for the Alpha, they have to decide whether the decisions they made in the past still stand or whether they can trust in their destiny and build a new future together.

Awwww, it's a romance. Omega and alpha meet a party, lured by each other's pheromones. They're hot for each other, but a misunderstanding separates the waiter from restaurant owner after a romp. But the alpha doesn't give up, finds the waiter. Neither wants marriage (huh!), and omega is planning to get fixed.
But they're fated, and soon mated, despite some more misunderstandings, and then expecting. Felt like I was high school reading this sweet and treacly short.
