This book kept me turning pages. To my surprise I loved it. 4 BFF's doing what boys do best. Camping, hanging out, watching sports etc but having each other's back till the end and a father who bonds well with his son and his friends. What can possibly go wrong on a nice snowy day in a cabin on the family property? No spoiler alerts from me.
This novel plays like one of those crazy fun SF/horror movies you get on the SyFy channel. Andre Gonzalez keeps things moving along at a very brisk pace and certainly doesn’t skimp on the action or the gore.
If the author can wean himself off the blockbuster summer movie tropes a little, he could well develop into a very fine writer.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced thrill ride this summer and like your movies of the ‘B’ variety, this could well be the book for you.
First. this is not the type of book I usually read. But I found it intriguing enough to read at least one more. The story seemed to start in the middle of a longer story without enough backstory to really bring the reader up to speed. It does leave room for the author to write a prequel or to continue the story into the future. I'll definitely give this author another read
~I received a free copy of this book for my honest review~
Although I am partial to thrillers, I’m not much of a reader of sci-fi. I had a few ideas about what to expect when I picked this book up, but the author definitely proved me wrong. There’s so much to this book besides sci-fi—horror, psychological suspense—that it enraptures you within the first few chapters. The characters are very well fleshed out making the suspense even higher because I was praying something bad wouldn’t happen to my favorites. I could see the author crafting a sequel with the way this book ended, and I hope he does because I’m definitely looking forward to reading it!
This was a great read! Very smooth flowing and kept me on my toes. The author’s use of descriptive words painted very clear pictures. Unique take on Extraterrestrial life. I definitely recommend this book for those interested in suspense, fiction, sci-fi and horror.
This was our month's group read and honestly I was skeptical about actually reading this only because I don't very much prefer Sci fi thrillers. But boy am I glad to have read this coz its wrong to categorize the book into sci-fi thriller, its got a bit of horror, psychological, gory deaths and a thrilling end which makes you feel wanting more. I really do hope the author is working on a sequel. Good work Mr.Andre!
This was a pretty good short horror story. It has several things happening almost at the same time to come together for the ending. It is about an alien race that comes to Earth once every thirty years. This race is not nice. They are very advanced in all things and create murder and mayhem. This journey they are in search of one person, Susan. Susan works for a secret government agency that studies this race and tracks them. They don't care who gets in their way to achieve this goal.
They Did Follow Us Home (Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of the Audiobook and decided to provide my honest review.) Followed Home by Andre Gonzalez is an enthralling masterpiece both in content and its delivery method. First let me address delivery method. I was always audio adverse believing the only way to read a book was to sit down and actually read the book. I was proved irrefutably incorrect. I found there is a convenience to actually using the audio delivery system to read the book such as when I was driving or grocery shopping. If I thought I needed to understand a piece of the story again, just rewind. I can’t say if I will go out an order all my books this way, but if there was a really good sale I now would consider purchasing an audible. Did I say that? Who knew? The content was nothing else but enthralling, commanding, suspenseful, thrilling from beginning to end, page-turning demanding and enveloping. The story pulls you in so you are there, not a bystander looking in, but feeling ups and downs and the nerves just like the characters. I would had a dialogue with myself that in many ways echoed my reactions to the story. I applaud the author for his world and character building, the width, depth and breadth of the storyline and the overall ability to bring everything together to make Followed Home a brilliant read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading Followed Home by Andre Gonzalez, conventionally or audibly. –Tex.
This book is about beings from outside our world who come to our planet on the pretense of looking for a new world to live in

First off would like to say thanks to our group leader at Goodreads for suggesting this book because this was one hell of a ride and really enjoyed it. Second would like to recommend this book to others that love to a ride on the edge of your seat being FOLLOWED HOME will keep you looking forward and wondering who is being FOLLOWED HOME and by whom....
The ideas and over arching story are very intriguing. I definitely want to see where this series goes. The story style was a bit too jumbled for my liking and at times I didn't understand where certain characters came and went or why they were important to the current situation. Overall, it's a good thriller with interesting and sinister antagonists.
I won this in a Goodreads giveaway, and I have to say I rather enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written as well as beautifully descriptive. I have and will be recommending this book to friends and family that are interested in this genre.
I liked this book, the story was different than most alien books. It definitely kept my interest and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because at times I felt the author was writing in a childish tone with clipped sentences. Overall, I would recommend.
A fast paced mystery set in the Denver. Supernatural beings aren't my favorite subject but I was defiantly entertained and will keep my ears open for the authors next book.

I first noticed Followed Home on my Goodreads feed. It was selected for one of my December 2016 Goodreads group discussion. So I jumped at the chance to read Followed Home for the group. I have to admit the books cover paints the book in a perfect light. This book is like watching an X-Files or a Stranger Things episode. Followed Home contains elements of horror, sci-fi and a detective story all in one book. This book had me hooked from the beginning and the storyline kept me hooked to the end. My only negative comment is I felt the end could have been summed up better. Although, it does lend itself to a sequel. This is a good first time book by the author. I look forward to future books from Mr. Gonzalez.
I was absolutely shocked at this book, I collect ebooks from different sources and add them to my collection to read at a later date so when I start a book, I basically don't remember its synopsis, I just look at the cover and decide to read it. Evidently, this was of the horror/science fiction genre of which I really don't like science fiction... BUT... this book was very craftily done and was not way out there in believability... I would have liked it to have been longer, but for what was there, it was an excellent book and the first book with ALIENS that I have ever read and LIKED. For that reason, I give it a Chris & Ca two thumbs up!
The book starts out slow and then picks up pace. A father out for a weekend with his sons and a friend goes wrong when a strange man assaults the boy, Brian. Travis and the boys rush back to Denver to a hospital where more strange things happen. The aliens are among us and after Travis's mom who is a secret agent sworn to kill them. The action goes non-stop to the end. This would make a great series.
This book was very interesting. The main female character very strong and fearless despite her age. The not so savory gray guys left the reader wondering about their intentions. Overall, a good read.
This is a new author for me. And I must say, I'm hooked! We get a different look at what other-worldly beings would be like. You're kept on your toes throughout, and wanting more when it ends. I'm definitely going to be reading more from him. So many books, not enough time!
This starts out more of a mundane thriller then takes a delicious turn into Sci-fi horror. The writing is tight and clear. His descriptions are vivid and had me as anxious as the victims in the story. Well done!
( Format. : Audiobook ) "You kill each other. You kill your planet." Followed You Home is a strange book. Part horror, part Men in Black science fiction, it feels more like an introduction to a new series than a stand alone novel. A small group of friends are camping out in a blizzard when one of them goes missing. He is found injured having been attacked by someone, or something, in the woods. A quick retreat to the local hospital reveals that not everyone is as they have seemed to be and all their lives are in danger, in particular, the grandmother of one of the boys. The excitement, the fear, is palpable. But although the book builds to a climax, the ending feels as if it has come too soon and not been resolved. Each protagonist is individually introduced with background extensively given, having their own chapters slotted in between action sequences. There is very little actual story. This rather curious approach gives it the feeling of the start of a series. It would certainly be interesting to see how it developed, if another 30 years has to pass before the story can continue. Scott R Smith delivers a good, well modulated reading which clearly identifies the different characters and keeps the narrative tight and exciting. His is a pleasant voice to hear, clear, with good intonation and, for this reader, he certainly added to the overall enjoyment of the book.
As mentioned previously, this book feels unfinished despite the definite ending. It is S.F. in that aliens are involved but more horror story than anything else. And, where that aspect occurs, powerfully written. Many good things individually; but together? ... Well, somehow, I was expecting more.
Do you want a book where at the end you are left wanting for more? If yes, then Followed Home by Andre Gonzalez is for you. I first read A Poisoned Mind which was a 74-page tease for Followed Home. (I do suggest you read it first, so you get the background necessary to truly appreciate Followed Home.) What does the future hold for us. Will alien beings walk among us? Will there be a way to follow them, or at least be aware where they are? What about a secret organization called The Crew. Highly intelligent individuals personally selected for such a job. Andre Gonzalez presents us with such a dilemma. He displays his fascination with the supernatural I dare say no more as I do not want to give any future reader a preconceived idea of what life will be like. In A Poisoned Mind we are introduced to the Exalls, being far superior to humans. In Followed Home we continue the journey into the battle against evil. Read both stories to understand the fight against supernatural enemies.
This book was a little strange, but in a good way, and leaves you wanting more! The descriptive work in it is excellent, really making you feel like you're experiencing the events in the story (no matter how icky that may be!) and if, like me, you listen to the audiobook, the storytelling talents of Scott R. Smith really bring the whole story to life. I found myself snapping back to reality with my hands in a bowl of cold washing up water after being so caught up in the story I'd completely zoned out for nearly an hour! So whilst I'd highly recommend this book, don't listen to the audiobook whilst driving or operating heavy machinery! NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
I would give this book to my 15 year-old grandson, and I think he would enjoy it. It seems to be perfect for middle to high school age. The premise of the story is good, but the book is over before the characters can get much chance to develop. The story jumps around a lot, without much explanation. I was curious, so I went to the author's website. He mentions he likes telling scary horror tales, so I guess he is on the right track. I think he should kick it up a few notches, maybe write a few short stories and then try a novel. The end leaves a whole lot unsaid and hints to a sequel...maybe this will eventually turn into one big book...hopefully, with some polish.
I wanted to crawl into my closet and pull an old quilt over my head. This book can best be described as the basis for my worst teenage nightmares. I grew up loving Sci-Fi and horror books and movies, so, this sent my goosebumps into overdrive. Never was afraid of the "little green men", but the grays...now that was a much different matter. And to this day, I still think our government is hiding evidence of extra-terrestrial existence. This author hit all of my trigger points. I just wish this were the beginning of a series and not a stand-alone.
This book started off very good and I was drawn in from the very beginning. I thought this was going to be a book about a serial killer that followed a group of people home but boy was I wrong. The twist with the Exalls made this book that more interesting. I will admit I'm not really into sci-fi stuff but this book was way better than I expected. Great read and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I did not expect this book to grip me like it did! I picked it up expecting one thing and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be this great! I'm usually more of a psychological thriller kind of fan but this thriller about killer aliens was so good! I'm going to read more of Andre Gonzalez' work in the future and will definitely be recommending this book to others!
