Words can’t even describe this book. I’m not even sure how I found it but I’m so glad I did. This might be my favorite book I’ve read this year! I won’t lie it was hard on me at times. Brought back some tough memories but was so worth it. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii and after reading this book my mind hasn’t changed it makes me want to go even more. I absolutely loved Kayla and Kai. Now I’m excited to read about his best friend in a novella and book two which features Kayla’s best friend Staci. If your looking for a book with ALL THE FEELS then this book is for you!! So glad I found it.
4 dreamy sigh stars. This is a book that rewarded me with a good read when taking a chance on an author new to me. I didn't know what to expect but Kimberly Readnour kept me engaged and entertained.
The story is new adult genre which means raging hormones, young stupidity and earnest love is most likely going to happen. The good news is it all happens strategically so it isn't overbearingly simple or immature. The hero and heroine are kind of different in their life approach with one living in Kauai working with no thoughts of college while the other is entering her senior year of college with a plan for another degree. The funny thing about difference is how it tends to not be able to stand against attraction.
Kayla was raised by a single mother and her vacation with said mother to Kauai is a way to lessen a blow. Kayla doesn't know this in the beginning but that's what it is. Kayla also learns the identity of her biological father and falls in love. Basically, her vacation is a whirlwind of emotions and kind of like a roller coaster gone terribly wrong at some points. I have to say I did like her and find myself feeling her for her.
Kai is an island born and bred guy. He is also a bit of a fuckboy in that he has sex with no strings. He's not interested in a relationship but he does enjoy the physical aspects of a female. He works hard and lives on his own. He's charming, witty and a bit of a douche. Once allowed to see beneath his exterior, he becomes a very real and multi-dimensional character. All in all, Kai was a great hero for the heroine.

Be still, my pitiful beating heart!
This book made me want to jump on a plane and rush off to an exotic island to find my own Kai. And I don't even like the beach!
Kayla is an ambitious, hardworking, and independent gal who hasn't had a lot of experience in matters of the heart (or body). When her mother surprises her with a trip to Kauai, a Hawaiian island, she prepares for some fun in the sun during her winter break.
On Kayla's first outing after arriving in Kauai, she meets a handsome and charming local guide who immediately becomes smitten by her. Though their meeting is brief, Kai can't seem to get the timid brunette out of his head. She has made quite an impression on him, already.
But even though Kai and Kayla begin to enjoy each other's company, it is with the knowledge that their time together is limited. Any brewing romance is doomed because Kayla will soon return home to her studies and their beach fling cannot possibly withstand the strain of a long-distance relationship.
Unfortunately, this isn't the only thing standing in their way. Meddling ex's, surprising confessions, illness, and long-kept secrets wreak havoc on any chance of Kayla and Kai having a future together.
I loved this book! The pacing was good, dual POV was insightful, the scenery was perfectly described, and the overall writing was spectacular. I read this on my phone and carried it all around the house with me, not wanting to put it down. I laughed and gasped and swooned. It really was a fun read.
Also, it was so nice to read about characters who didn't constantly overreact to conflict, as well. A lot of books I've read make me want to slam my head against a wall because characters are often written as ridiculously overly-dramatic. These two characters did have a full range of emotions but also a good dose of common sense. They behaved in a way that was realistic and believable, which made the story even more enjoyable.
In closing... I am excited that this is going to be a series. I wonder if Kayla's friend, Staci, might be a possible leading lady in books to come. I am still curious about the history there between Staci and Brian. Either way, I look forward to reading more from Kimberly Readnour! Five blazing suns!

Kimberly Readnour's debut romance novel is vastly different from her Mystical Encounters series. Aimed at a much older audience, it's a light and quick entertaining read.
Kayla is a bit uptight, a bit shy, and a bit to goody-two-shoes. It's cute how animated she gets over the Hawaiian setting.
Enter Kai. A bit of a manwhore but sweet where it counts most.
These two share an instant connection and seem to run into each other everywhere.
While their story mainly focuses on their romance, that's not to say it's without its heartache.
I'm interested to read BFF Staci's story next. I want to know more about her and Brian and I hope he's the male MC for the next one.
I didn’t like this one… I’m so sorry, because I really thought that a romance in Hawaii would be amazing, but it just didn’t work for me.
The writing was OK-ish, nothing stood out in either a good or bad way, though there were some repeated sentences that just didn’t make much sense to me at some points. Also, I need to say a word about the names… Kai and Kayla are way too similar =/.
My biggest problem here were the characters, I just couldn’t connect with either of them. I found Kayla very inconsistent and in the end, I still think she wasn’t totally fleshed out. Kai is portrayed as a player from the start, but he falls faster than anyone else I ever saw. The instalove in this book is ridiculous! I’m ok with instalust, but this was much more. These 2 were saying how deep their feelings were after a few days of being together and not knowing each other well at all.
The relationship between them is fast and intense, but not in a good way. Most of their thoughts about each other revolve around how hot the other one is, and not about the deeper and more important stuff that actually makes a person. This is particularly bad in Kayla’s case, a girl that in the first chapters were saying how she needed to have deep feelings for someone to give herself over… well… it only just took a look at Kai’s abs and she was ready! (-_-)’
I was not a fan of this.
The story and plot have 2 major points besides the romance, and I think that one of them was not done properly at all. At some point, this very huge thing, takes a backstage to “Kai Kai Kai“, and it really shouldn’t have. The second plot point could have been handled better too, and I was kind of hoping for it to go a little deeper, but unfortunately that was not the case.
There there’s some very unnecessary drama, and I’m still not sure what happened at some points in this book, because those actions made no sense to me.
I did like the descriptions of the island of Kauai, and I wouldn’t mind going there at all!
All in all, this was another disappointing read, and I can’t really recommend it to anyone. So, proceed at your own risk.
I'm excited to debut my romance novel, Impossible Love. This story is much different than my other works, but I've wanted to write this book for a long time. Kauai is truly an inspiring place to visit. There isn't a day that passes that I don't think about that island, and I long to go back. The landmarks featured in the story are posted on my Facebook page. These are my personal pictures, so stop by and take a peek. Happy reading!
Kimberly Readnour has created an story that gives you story you will not forget, she shows that no matter how well you think you have your life together and all your plans set for the future, one life event can change that forever. Kayla has it all together she is in nursing school with one semester to go, then it is on to Grad school to be a Nurse Practitioner. She is thrown for a loop when she goes home on Thanksgiving break and her mom presents her with a 3 week vacation. During this vacation her mom reveals some serious secrets that will change Kaylas life as she knows it. On vacation Kayla meets the man of her dreams, but can a relationship work with 4000 miles between you? When the day comes to make a decision she has to ask herself can she really change her life long plans and do something she never planned to do or does she stay the course and just let the cards fall where they may. Looking for a read that shows how life can change in the blink of an eye and ask the questions, Can keeping secrets be good? Then be sure to take the time and delve into this book. You will not be disappointed.
After reading Kimberly Readnour's excellent paranormal "Mystical Encounter" series, I was intrigued to see how she'd do by shifting gears into romance. I was not disappointed.
Kayla is a midwestern college student who travels to Hawaii with her mother as a last vacation before she has to get on with her life and her career. She's never really had time for relationships, and, in fact, isn't even looking. Foreshadowing!
What she doesn't count on is meeting Kai, a hunky Hawaiian tour guide who is so taken with her, he's ready to give up his swingin' bachelor ways and pursue Kayla full-time. The bad news is: what happens when she goes home? They each have their lives to lead, families and friends they can't leave behind, and are incompatible on paper.
But ...
When there's chemistry, there's chemistry. And the pages sizzle when Kayla and Kai are together. I commend Ms. Readnour for creating a truly steamy story for a more mature audience than her teen-centric paranormal series. I understand that the second book will feature Kayla's awesome best friend Staci, and I can't wait to read that one either.
This book has it all from love, mystery, friendship, happiness sadness, and wicked sex. I loved this book. The chemistry between Kayla and Kia was off the chart! What a ride this book takes you on
I really enjoyed this book. The pace of the book was just right. The characters felt real and believable. I stayed up way later than I intended to so I could finish the book....that’s a sure 5 star read!
A thing I love about this book is the setting, the story take place in Kauai and I really like that. The author is very good at describing a magical place like this one, I really believed I was there with Kayla and Kai. And now, I want to go there and see all the wonderful places she described. I also like the characters, Kayla is young and naïve but she determined, she wants to be a nurse and she wants to lose her virginity to a person she love. I really like when Kimberly Readnour described her in the eyes of Kai when she looks at the beauty of the island. Kayla is falling in love with Kauai, just like her mother before her. Kai is a manwhore but he’s also a very good guy, I love to see him trying to resist to Kayla’s charm. That was very fun and he’s not very good at it. He’s protective and jealous of course but he’s also very sweet and he can be a real gentleman. I love Kamp, he’s so funny with all his cheesy lines. The story isn’t only a love story it’s also about friendship, family and health. Kayla’s mother has two secret and the truth will be hard for Kayla. It’s also a story about long distance relationship and how they are not easy at all. I like the story because Kayla is not the usual heroin, she’s smart and her reactions are important in the story. She can be angry with her mother but in the end she knows that the time is limited and she must forgive her. Sometimes, she irritates me because she’s naïve and she doesn’t see that the things she does can make Kai very jealous. She always thinks that her best-friend doesn’t see her like a girl he wants to take in his bed. The story is told by Kayla and Kai, I like that because we have two pov, very different and it’s nice for the story to have them. Kimberly Readnour is good for describing places and she has created some amazing characters. I’m very impatient to read the second book in the story because I really like her writing style.
Impossible Love is my first book by Kimberly Readnour and you can bet this wouldn't be my last. I loved the cover (yeah, I always check the cover before the description :P) ... and the description was interesting ... which had me picking up the book for reading.
First in the series Unforeseen Destiny, this is the journey of Kayla Cannon and Kai Hale, where Kayla is a college senior and Kai is a tourist guide during the day and playboy at night.
Kayla Cannon has plans about her career after her college, but is surprised by her mother with a three-week holiday trip to Hawaii, where she meets sexy, swoon-worthy Kai, who is a great package - sweet, sexy and caring. What happens when these two meet - serious and probably uptight Kayla and carefree Kai?
They connect instantly, but they're from different locations and will their insta-lust / love survive the distance and trials or will it even progress to a relationship? You've got to read to find out :P & trust me, it is worth your time.
The secondary characters especially Brian and Kayla are great and I hope their stories will come up as the series progresses. For an author entering Romance from Paranormal genre, Kimberly has done a great job and holds your interest throughout. It was an interesting, romantic, sexy, steamy & interesting read, with the right amount of drama & emotions to add spice!

This was a wonderful read that had me crying and laughing.
I loved where the book was set. I definitely want to visit Hawaii someday and see everything Kayla saw.
I thought Kai and Kayla were wonderful together but I would have liked to have seen them talk more in the beginning instead of skipping straight to the physical attraction they both had for each other.
There are obvious clues from the beginning (the entire first chapter) about how this book is going to go. If the author wanted to keep the reader guessing they should have done away with the first chapter. Also, the clues that are dropped throughout the story weren’t very subtle, I don’t understand how the characters didn’t see certain twists coming.
Apart from that, I did really enjoy the book and I look forward to reading the next book - I think I already know how it’s going to go though, thanks to the very obvious hints dropped in this story. I’m still going to read it because I’m sure the author is going to give us another wonderful story to read.
This book is like taking a trip to Hawaii, except that when I go, I don't get to fall in love with a hottie tour guide. Sigh. Some people have all the luck.
Kayla is excited for the trip with her mother. A girls vacation after a long year at school. Only, her mother has ulterior motives, a secret she has yet to share. A secret that will turn Kayla's entire life upside down, changing her future for good.
Kai is everything you dream about on your vacation. But serious isn't in his nature and he doesn't hang around with tourists. They come and then they leave. She will leave. The girl he breaks all the rules for. And when she boards that plane home, she'll take his heart with her. But he jumps in anyways, wanting to enjoy the time they have. He never expected the one girl he didn't want to live without to be a girl who was never planning to stay.
This book crosses between sexy and sweet with regular intervals leaving you saying "Awww" while "oh my god" was still rolling off your tongue.
*sigh* This books makes me want to go to Hawaii and meet a sexy Kai. This was such a sweet story of love that kept me flipping the pages. I was so absorbed into it and this book reminded me why I loved romances. It pulls two people together who live in completely different parts of the country and proves that you can find your soulmate anywhere. Even on the water in Hawaii. I enjoyed Kai and Kayla's characters. Through this story, you witness how love can change people and make them stronger. Better. They both face challenges, especially when Kaylas mom spills a secret she's been hiding that will change Kayla's life forever.
The author does an incredible job at describing the landscape of Hawaii that I felt like I was actually there. It's so much easy to get into the story when there are good descriptions and she nails it. I've never been to Hawaii but hope to see the beautiful sights this book speaks of. Kimberly did her research.
Fans of romance and a good love story will like this read.

This book was an intriguing and quick read. The author created a story that ranged from a basic vacation storyline to a steamy and explosive love affair!
In this story we follow Kayla a college student who travels to Hawaii with her mother for one last hoorah before she starts her life. What she didn't expect on her trip was to meet Kia. A man who is every woman's dream to encounter on a Hawaiian vacation. The romantic story that unfolds is amazingly loveable.
I loved how the writer portrayed a very vivid picture of the island. Makes you truly feel as if you have travels there yourself. I wish there would have been a little more dialog between the two characters before we jumped into the who physical attraction, chemistry thing. Other than that I have no complaints. Loved the story and I would recommend to anyone who asked.
An enjoyable New Adult book. As with any book with racy sex scenes some words come off as alarming. However, if felt that most X-rated words always came off as alarming, which made my reading experience somewhat unpleasant. I honestly think the book would have been much better if some of the more Adult words were not used. I say this because the main character, Kayla, came off as more of a teenager than an adult. Sure, she was 21 but she was a VERY inexperienced adult in many fashions. She portrayed herself as a very naive young lady with some immature reactions. There were a few pop culture references of a recent Adult series-turned-movies that I also felt were unnecessary.
This book was so good. I loved the Hawaii setting. I loved the characters of Kayla and Kai. I loved the writing, the story and the beautiful ending. As you can tell, I loved it all!
The realism in this book really struck a chord with me. Unlike so many other romances, this one quickly lets you know that not all love stories are filled with rainbows and roses. Some come with heartbreak, sorrow and tears. Sometimes tough decisions and compromises must be made if you want that HEA, but this book makes you believe it will all be worth it.
Impossible love is a feel-good book that will keep you entertained to the end. Great job, Ms. Readnour. 5 out 0f 5 shiny stars.
I loved this book! It was so well written and just captured my attention from the very beginning and didn't let up until the end. There was everything with this book, emotion, heart, love, sadness, and sexiness. This book is what happens when a playboy from Hawaii (Kai) meets the girl from the mainland (Kayla) that would shock his world. Little do they realize how much they actually connected. But when push comes to shove, the reader will be happy with this connection. I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I don't think Kai has ever had a woman cook for him, "Kai’s head whips toward me. “You cooked?” A sense of awe quickly masks his surprise." I really liked Kayla she kept Kai on his toes, “I know, but I want to. I want all my firsts to be with you. Well, except anal.” She scrunches her nose and shakes her head. “I don’t want to do that.” I about choke. Holy ****, I never know what’s going to come out of this girl’s mouth." I really liked this book I loved Kai.
This book is a beautiful romance found after a trip to Hawaii. There are some sad parts to the book but this adds depths to the storyline. I enjoy reading about the developing love story between Kayla and Kai, along with John and Kayla's past relationship. There are some hot scenes as well which I always appreciate. Now on to book #2 of the series.
********I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*****
Even though this book is Insta-love, I still enjoyed the characters Kai and Kayla. Towards the ending of the book was sad, but I thought this book was predictable. In the end, there was a HEA, I do love books with a happy ending.
I won this book from Goodreads Giveaways. Thank you. This book arrived in the mail today (well, technically yesterday). It's 1am and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Loved the story and the characters. Looking forward to the next book.
Wonderful love story. She is a mainland girl and he is island boy they fall for each other and she is going back to mainland in weeks time and never coming. What is going to do read on for more.
Kayla believes the once in a lifetime trip with her mom will be filled with great adventure and lots of memories. What she did not expect was for it to be filled with secrets and lies. She will also come away with finding the love of her life, Kai, but having to leave him behind to go back to her own real life. In the end she will say goodbye to more than just Kai, but her future happiness as well. But can you really fall in love in three weeks? Can you also forgive the deception that will transform the future you had worked so hard to achieve? My emotions were all over the place with this book. I had instances of anger, instances of fear and instances where I sighed out loud with the twists and turns from this story. Kimberly Readnour has a way of creating characters you instantly feel a connection with and at the same time pulls your heart from your chest. I was locked in from the opening chapters and did not want to put this book down.
"Impossible love" has a very interesting premise with the love between a tour guide and a tourist and I was looking forward to read the story.
I was quickly pulled into the story and its setting. We meet Kayla who is spending a 3-week holiday with her mom in Hawaii and Kai, who is a local and organising kayak tours for tourists. This is where the two meet and get to know each other.
I enjoyed that despite the limited visit of Kayla, the love story isn't developing too fast and there are still some very nice and enjoyable dates between the too. I really liked Kayla and also Kai, which isn't such a bad boy as the blurb is claiming.
The story also has a very emotional part which made me drop a few tears as well. The setting was a big plus for me and I loved the Hawaiian nature which was described very nicely by the author.
