Fatal Destiny

With the week of their wedding finally upon them, Washington, D.C., Police Lieutenant Sam Holland and her fiancé, Senator Nick Cappuano, are at odds. In the aftermath of a tragic loss, they struggle to reconnect as the big day draws near, but their work keeps pulling them apart. When a new clue into a cold case surfaces, Nick asks Sam not to take any foolish chances before the wedding.

Sam agrees, but she can't let it go entirely and winds up trapped in an explosive situation. Then an unwelcome visitor from her past threatens her future happiness... With trouble at every turn, will Sam survive long enough to walk down the aisle?

Fatal Flaw

Back from their honeymoon, Senator Nick Cappuano and DC Police Lieutenant Sam Holland are ready for some normalcy after the whirlwind of their wedding, but someone has other plans for them. When Sam discovers wedding cards containing thinly veiled death threats, she's not sure if she or Nick is the target.

Already on edge, Sam and her team start investigating a series of baffling murders. With no obvious connection between the victims, Sam soon suspects that she may be the ultimate prize in the killer's clever game...

Fatal Deception

The wife of the White House deputy chief of staff has been beaten to death, and their one-year-old daughter is missing. D.C. Police Lieutenant Sam Holland is in charge of the murder investigation, but she's forced to collaborate with Special Victims Unit detectives as well as thorn-in-her-side FBI Special Agent Avery Hill. Then, a cold case of her father's resurrects old hurts—a distraction Sam cannot afford.

As Sam's investigation heats up, so does Nick's political career—and the heat carries over to their bedroom. Will Sam put the pieces together in time to catch a killer and find the baby?

Fatal Mistake

D.C. is recovering from angry riots after one player's mistake blew the D.C. Federals' chance at the World Series, and Lt. Sam Holland is determined to unravel the twisted web of motives behind the star center fielder's death. Was it a disgruntled fan, a spurned lover or a furious teammate?

While Sam digs through clues, her husband, U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano, fights for his political life in the final days of his reelection campaign as financial irregularities threaten his future. It's a distraction Nick can ill afford, with Sam in the midst of another high-profile murder investigation and both of them trying to help their adopted son, Scotty, cope with the murder of a ball player he admired.

Determined to bring the killer to justice, Sam must root out the truth before another mistake proves fatal.

3.5 stars. The series still has a strong Eve and Roarke vibe but it's settling into its own groove. Good cast of characters. Nick's political career, the speed it especially, seems unlikely but it's interesting.

The Boy

It really bothered me every time Sam or Nick refers to Scotty as “the boy”. I don’t know of any parent that does that. The repetition of previously known parts of the storyline I.e. her dad getting shot, her ex etc seems unnecessary by book 6. I mean does it have to be mentioned that Archeletta was her only in office fling? Does it move the story forward...no. The books are already dated I.e. in the Kavanaugh story...this man would have security cameras around his home, as would his entire neighborhood. Interestingly enough, when she was miscarrying I remember thinking of Meredith Grey and Christina in the operating room when Meredith had miscarried. The. There was a bunch of references to Defiance, OH and I’m with Olivia Pope. Finally, Sam admits she watches Grey’s Anatomy cementing this author’s Shonda Rimes infatuation. It’s difficult to read a book where you love the central male character and just tolerate the female but that’s where I am in this series. It’s equally difficult for me to read a female character that really has very little respect for other women, has an unhealthy obsession with her dad, keeps her mother at a distance, has no female friends and tells a relative stranger I’m going to call you Tinker Bell because the woman is short. And please...nepotism is alive and well in this series...good old uncle Joe and the rest of the brass almost defer to her..sometime I find myself agreeing with Stahl.

Addictive

I am addicted to this series. Each book concept is unique and thrilling. The three books in this set deserved 4 stars but I gave it three stars due to the repetitive information that kept coming up in the books. I can tell this was done to get readers who start in the middle to get caught up with the storyline. I found it annoying, nevertheless I recommend this book for fans who like a good mystery with romance added.

Best Box Set Ever!!

This has to be the best if not one of the best box sets ever. So much action and love in one box set! Let's not forget all the laughing with Sam and Freddie as well as Sam and Nick! All the one line jokes or phrases throughout kept the series fun. Love this series.

More High Powered Romance and Suspense

Nick and Sam's love story continues as Sam is embroiled in one high profile murder case after another. Trying to juggle careers and romance, finding the time to be together is difficult. Nick's career is on an ever increasing upward trajectory and is aided by Sam's notoriety. They are the power couple of Washington. It's not all roses though. They have their share of heartaches, danger and family drama but their all encompassing love is the glue that holds it altogether.

I love this series. It reminds me of Nora Roberts Eve and Roarke, because Sam is just as snarky as Eve but both of them have a hidden heart of gold. I find myself laughing out loud at some of the situations Sam and Nick get into. It is very sexy though so if you don’t like graphic sex beware.

Best series by Ms Force in my opinion.

Can't wait to continue the saga of Sam and Nick. Each book is better than the last. Buying the books in three volumes is very convenient. End one book and immediately start on the next.

love this series

These are the best books. I love Sam and Nick and now they have added Scotty. Shelby keeps them all on track as Sam is a police lieutenant and Nick is the senator from Virginia. I love all the exploits of their family.
