She's falling for the groom.... After losing her job and getting evicted from her home, the last thing florist Anna Nolan needs is to ruin her new gig. T.J. Kline has been making up stories since she was old enough to talk and put her first into book form when she was ten.
Since then, she has always loved a HEA and a good thriller. When life introduced her to horses and rodeos, she knew she'd found her calling writing contemporary small-town romances filled with love, drama and, of course, cowboys.
She currently lives in the foothills outside Yosemite National Park with the love of her life, adoring her three grown children from afar and enjoying her three horses, four dogs, five cats and a noisy bunch of hens.
i picked this title up in an audio book format. I wanted a fun light weight read but it never clicked for me. I didn't like the main characters or the situation of the guy and his fiancé. It seemed preposterous. The characters didn't feel real, even after many meet-cute-moments. I cannot recommend at all.
Gabe, wealthy and engaged literally runs into Anna a just fired florist. To smooth things he invites her to do the flowers for his wedding. Totally predictable. Likable characters. All felt a little rushed, but with a 160 page format there isn't time for a lot of extras. Clean language but a little steamy. This is a James Patterson promoted Bookshots novella.
Kind of able to figure out what was going to happen before it happened. The only question is how was it going to completely play out. I had trouble finding this in the book format so had to go with the CD version.
The story is 100% predictable, no palms need to be read to figure out what happens. The saving grace is the characters. Anna is absolutely charming and quirky. Stephanie is sweet. Gabe is battling what his family wants versus what he wants, which is relatable. The social elites are bitchy and think their shit don't stink. The negative for me is that Anna believed even an ounce of what the wicked lady said. If you knew that someone hated you, when they told you something bad, WHY BELIEVE THEM. It makes no sense, take what they said to someone you can trust, find out the truth and act accordingly instead of acting like a little whining baby. The ending redeemed that part with its charm.
Warnings: Romance, Sexual desire/ content, snobby people that you'll want to smack
