One Nurse at a Time

Beyond Borders: Humanitarian Nursing at the Edge of the World

Rate this book
Volunteering lifts your soul and breaks your heart in the flutter of an eyelash. You find your true self in the act of giving yourself away. It frees and entangles in the same motion. Once you volunteer, you are forever changed.

Every year, thousands of nurses travel abroad, hoping to ease suffering, save lives, and make a difference in countries other than their own. Each has a story to tell.

One Nurse At A Beyond Borders is a fascinating collection of true stories from dedicated nurses. In this inspiring anthology, they share their experiences where languages, procedures, equipment, and even physicians may be incredibly different from those in their home countries – but where the ultimate goal of providing excellent care and utmost compassion remains the same.

The true heART of Nursing

These stories illustrate the true Heart of Nursing, which is truly an Art and a noble profession. These short stories tell of life lessons learned by both the Nurse and the care receiver. They are bound to touch the heart of anyone who reads them. I want to see this in paperback because there are at least a dozen people (literally) that I would gift this to for Christmas, or just because.

An inspirational collection of stories by nurses volunteering around the world. Some funny, some tragic, all well written. Love a short story collection - you can pick it up and put it down as you have time to read. Different "voices" are interesting to read - engaging!
