Untold by Shannon Richard is the 7th book in the Country Roads series but can be read as a complete standalone. This series features different couples from the same town and while some of them are interconnected, you don't need to know the secondary characters backstory in order to fully enjoy this one.
With that, this is another wonderful and uplifting novel from Shannon Richard and I enjoyed reading it tremendously. Shannon Richard knows how to write the sweetest romances with hero's that will easily steal your heart and she also knows how to make her heroines relatable to us females who read the books.
One of the most striking things that I have taken away from this book (and series as a whole) is that the author throws interesting conflicts at her readers (each book has one and they are all widely different from one another) and bringing the characters back from said conflicts as easily and undramatic as possible. You won't be left cringing at these conflicts and you won't feel a strong sense of anxiety. Instead, you will watch the characters rise up from it (some slower than others) and deal with it in a realistic manner. I think this is an important aspect to any story as it can certainly make or break it, but Shannon Richard does a wonderful job at handling it every time.
In this book, readers will meet Finn and Brie. Finn is the type of alpha male that all us ladies have come to love in romance novels and is fiercely protective. Sure, he isn't one to settle down as he has been heartbroken before, but maybe the right woman will change this?
When Brie comes to town in search of her birth mother, she has no idea what she has walked into. The towns people all know the infamous woman who used to write awful gossip about the residents, and this woman turns about to me the one that gave Brie life. So how will she go on in a town where everyone hated her birth mother so much? And will she ever get the chance to find love with the one resident of the town who isn't ready to settle?
Each of these questions will be answered as you read (and enjoy) the latest novel in the Country Roads series. Once again, this is a wonderful series filled with great characters and interesting plot lines to keep everyone who reads them comfortable and serene. There are conflicts of course, but it is light on drama making it an all around satisfying read for the romance junkies in all of us.

Shannon Richard’s Country Roads comes to a close with the heartwarming Untold . Finn and Brie’s story has everything I’ve come to expect from Ms. Richard’s books: a sweet (with a dash of spice) romance, endearing characters, and a story that can tug on your heartstrings at the most unexpected moments.
Finn Shepherd had his heart broken eight years ago and he’s never wanted to risk that kind of pain again. Then Brie Davis comes into town and just plain knocks him off his feet. Brie is in Mirabelle for the funeral of her birth mother – the infamous Bethelda Grimshaw. Brie never knew the woman, but now she’s inherited everything, including some animosity from people Bethelda hurt. Brie is a charming heroine with a good heart and a deep-seated need to know where she came from. I adored her from the first and wanted her to find happiness in Mirabelle and with Finn. Finn is a caring, loving, sexy hero whose past has made him wary of entering a relationship. When he and Brie decide to enter a no strings attached affair while she’s in town, it’s clear that these two are going to find themselves entangled sooner rather than later. Finn and Brie fit like lock and key; they’re truly perfect for each other on every level. I loved watching them fall into a relationship and fall in love almost without realizing it. Their romance is by turns sweet and sensual and I was rooting for them to get the happily ever after they so deserved.
Untold is the seventh full-length book in the Country Roads series and though it can be read as a standalone, there are some minor spoilers for the previous books in the series. As a fan of the series, I was thrilled to briefly visit with past Country Roads heroes and heroines and see where they are now. Ms. Richard also gave me something I didn’t know I wanted: a look into the life of Bethelda Grimshaw. I absolutely hated Bethelda in previous books because she was so cruel. Learning about her alongside Brie ended up tugging on my heartstrings more than I expected. Ms. Richard doesn’t excuse Bethelda’s actions in any way, but I really did like getting a greater understanding of the character.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know the residents of Mirabelle throughout the Country Roads series. While I’m sad to see the series come to a close, Finn and Brie’s romance is really a great ending. Untold is simply a lovely story from beginning to end.

Sweet, Sexy with a dash of small town drama!
When we first meet up with Brie, she comes to Mirabelle for one thing and one thing only; the funeral of her birth mother. She never had the chance to meet her and doesn’t consider her “mom” and from what she can tell from the local townfolk, her birth mother wasn’t the nicest lady. So, you see, Brie only planned to be in town for just a short time, but fate had other plans for her. When Brie finds out her mother left her entire will to Brie, she finds herself not only confused, but wanting to also stay a while….From the moment Finn laid eyes on Brie, he knew he had to have her. He’s had his heart broken before, but not even that is enough to keep him away. The pull Finn feels for Brie is enough to make him want to jump. Will Brie jump at the chance of love as well? Or will she leave Mirabelle behind in a cloud of dust?? There is only one way to find out….
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Untold is my first book by this author and boy did I pick a good first book. Yes, this is the 7th book in the Country Roads Series, but I promise you, you can read this book as a stand-alone novel.
Untold is a great small town read. I loved the story-line and the small town attitude; everyone knowing everyone and always having to give their own two cents. I fell in love with the characters instantly and wanted to know more about them and just had to see where their story was going to take me. I really enjoyed Brie and Finn together. I loved the pull between the two of them and boy did they ever burn up the pages. I found myself totally and easily lost in Brie and Finn’s story and could not wait to see how it was all gonna play out.
Untold was a really enjoyable read. I easily finished it in just one sitting. As I previously stated, this is my first book by this author and I for one can not wait to check out more books from this author in the future.

This is the first time I've read Shannon Richards, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed Untold. I was a little worried that I would be lost since it's the 8th book in the series but for the most part I wasn't.
I think I would have rather read the books in order but that's a personal thing. My OCD working overtime.
I really felt for what Brie was going though with the mother she doesn't know dying and she has to pick up the pieces. How weird would it be going through someone's things that you don't know? I liked how Brie had to deal with learning all these facts about her mom and deciding if she was going to stay in Mirabelle.
I also really enjoyed Finn. What a sweet, sexy guy. He was one of those hero's that the second you meet him in the book you are like, yes! he's good, keep him! Can you tell I warmed up to him right away? You'll feel for him about his past broken heart. He now has to take a chance on love and I enjoyed his struggle to do that. That comment kinda made it sound like I enjoyed his pain. My bad. I liked how the author resolved his inter conflict.
As a whole this is a wonderful story with characters you are sure to enjoy. I know I did. The only negative and it's a little one is that I found the authors writing a little dense. She didn't have as much dialogue as I like in my stories. Like I said, a little one.

I love all of Shannon Richard's books, and this one didn't disappoint. If you love small town contemporary romance with a robust cast of characters, swoon worthy heroes, and blush inducing sexy times, I highly recommend the entire Country Roads series.

Shannon Richard’s Country Roads series is a favorite of mine! I love them all and it is such a joy to revisist every time a new book comes out. Seriously, small town romance fans, try this series! You will love it! Alpha heroes, relatable heroines, realistic storylines, all set in a cute town with a mean girl running a town gossip blog.
In the last of the series we get to read the story of Finn and Brie. Now, Brie is new to the town and she is in town because she is the biological daughter of the town mean girl that runs the blog. When I say mean, I mean - ruthless, bitch, cunt behavior coming from this woman, the blogger, not Brie. She is a terrible person. So Brie has an uphill battle coming to this town. And Finn is the brother of Shep, who was in one of the earlier books and a victim of said blogger, he is one of the vets in town, he bartends at the Sleepy Sheep and…AND he wears glasses! Man, I love a man in glasses…
The final of the Country Roads series may be a little bit slow to start but it makes up for it with heart. Richard writes characters that stick with you and she has done it again. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Brie Davis set out to Mirabelle, with one mission, to attend the funeral of the birth mother she never knew, settle her affairs, and then get out of town. But then something unexpected happened, she met Finn, and suddenly leaving town had lost a little of it's appeal. He was so unlike any other man she had met in the past and his large group of family and friends pulled her into their world and made her feel right at home... and gave her a sense of belonging she had never experienced before. Now she must decide if Mirabelle is her new place to call home, or if she should return to the town she has called home for so many years.
Finn Shepard tried his hand at forever once before, and it didn't last... and he wound up on sporting a serious broken heart, and a serious case of that's never happening again. But the one thing he didn't count on was meeting a woman quite like Brie Davis, she is everything he likes, but she also reminds him of what it feels like to be on the losing end of a relationship gone wrong. She wants to see if they have what it takes to make a go at forever, but Finn has serious doubts, one's that could cost him the woman who has turn his life upside down, and made him feel again... now he must decide if he is finally ready to let go of the past and give love a second try.
I seriously loved this book, the moment I cracked the cover I was transported back to Mirabelle, and reunited with some of my absolute favorite characters.... and nothing has ever felt so right! This series has produced some of my hands down favorite reads, and I have to say Untold just moved to the top of list, it was heartwarming, sexy, charming, and laugh out loud funny!! These two put on quite the show for me, they had me near tears a time or two, reaching for a fan a time or two, and dancing for joy a few times too... needless to say it was the perfect read!! If you have not made a visit to this series yet, I highly recommend that you remedy that ASAP, because you are missing out on meeting some truly amazing stories and characters that will steal your heart... I guarantee you will love what you find in Mirabelle!

I’m in complete denial over the end of this series and I really wish it would just keep going and going and going.
I fell in love with this small town series in 2015 after reading a book in the middle of the series. I immediately went back to the beginning of the series, binge read the hell out of it and eagerly awaited each new book. Now, I’m faced with no more new Country Roads books and I just…cannot.
Richard always manages to craft main characters with loads of chemistry. Brie and Finn are no exception, from the moment they meet, there are fireworks. She also weaves the history of Mirabelle and some of its long time residents all the way through this series and that history comes home to roost in this last chapter of the Country Roads book. When I say come home, I really mean it. Brie visits Mirabelle with a very specific purpose, for the funeral of a very significant resident and her own birth mother. The Mirabell resident in question is not loved and therefore, casts quite a shadow on Brie.
Finn is an interesting guy. He’s a veterinarian and bartender and quite the cynical dater. He’s not after a commitment and he assumes that his time with Brie will consist of one and done. I was very frustrated with Finn in the beginning, he was a jerk and Brie had every reason to want to punch him in the face. Leave to the lovely ladies of Mirabelle to gallop in and pull her under their wing and in turn, straighten out some of the men of Mirabelle. Soon, Finn sees the error of his ways and realizes that he and Brie have a lot more between them than just a one-time thing.
I was absolutely fascinated as Brie navigated getting to know her deceased birth mother and understanding why she (her mother) was such an unhappy person. I found myself holding my breath and getting teary eyed as Brie peeled back the layers of her own family history. Which, in turn, made me even sadder that I won’t be visiting Mirabelle again with new characters. This series is definitely on my re-read shelf, so I’ll have to be satisfied with that. Untold and the Country Road series is equal parts sexy, romantic, funny, and undeniably heartfelt.

A beautiful story and one that I could relate with being that I too am adopted am my birth mother after meeting her again did not want me around. The main character in this story Brie Davis has come to Mirabelle Florida for a funeral of a woman that she met once for only a few minutes, and she was also her birth mother. Before the funeral she meets Finn Sheppard who has his own issues with commitment. The biggest one being is that he does not do sleep overs, or is with anyone from town only women who are passing through. His shock comes the next day when he finds out that she is not leaving because she has inherited the house of the women that just passed and no one in town liked her. After getting the cat from the vet which is Finn, and Finn making a complete A-s of himself he finally comes around after his mother and some other women give him a good talking to. Their relationship starts to work and while that is happening you are still with Brie who is trying to discover who she is and maybe she can find a name of her birth father. I am not going to get into that whole part of the story for I will give something away, but her story along with Finn overcoming his past failed relationship makes this story work as a whole. A well written book and I feel the author captured the thoughts and feelings the best she could from someone who has been adopted and been essentially given up twice. untold, the last book in the country roads series, starts off soon after the death of bethelda grimshaw, mirabelle's town meanie. seriously, there is no better way to describe her. bethelda has no redeeming qualities, something bree davis, her biological daughter discovers as she finds herself in mirabelle sorting out bethelda's things.
for some mysterious reason known only to bethelda, she left everything to the daughter she gave up for adoption 28 years ago. bree had looked her up when she turned 18 and had been summarily rejected by bethelda so her inheritance was a shock. arriving in mirabelle she's also shocked to discover some crazy chemistry with town veterinarian and part-time bartender finn shepherd. she's also shocked by the animosity so many people felt toward her biological mother and how easily they transfer that animosity to her.
finn is actually guilty of this. though he realizes he's being an ass while he does it. and while they spend a handful of chapters after the reveal at odds with each other, finn finally gets his head on straight and decides to break all his dating rules and spend time with bree. because the truth is he really likes her.
this is a small town romance and also the last in a series, so we do also get to spend some quality time with characters who have already found their own happily ever afters and who can't stop themselves from getting into other people's business. it's always a fine line for me on how much small town quirkiness and nosiness i can stand, this one comes on a little strong at first, but eases up once finn and bree really go all-in on their relationship and then i was pretty much good with it.

Bethelda Grimshaw was a thorn in everyone's side so when she died people breathed a sigh of relief no more secrets or embarrassing facts stated for all to see and no one to pick up her job as she had no one but a cat. When Brie showed up at Finn's bar everyone was rather happy that no one would do that to them so Brie kept her mouth shut not telling them she was Bethelda's biological daughter. Brie couldn't help staring at the bartender as he had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen so when he went to her room at the inn she knew it was one and done but he left a strange feeling with her. When she went to tackle the estate Bethelda left her and pick up her cat she ran into people that hearing she was the long lost daughter were really mean to her including Finn. Brie had a lot to do and not much time to do it so when she went to donate some of the things she met some of Finns family who were very welcoming except for Finn. When Finn's mother had him go to help Brie donate stuff they made a truce and agreed to see each other while she was there but Finn didn't do second times and Brie was leaving anyway, but could she leave and would Finn be happy? This book was funny, sweet and sometimes mean and I can't imagine how Brie could deal with how these people were treating her but I just loved it. This can be read as a standalone but I liked it so much I am going to go get the rest of the series.

What a journey I went through with this book. I felt personally victimised for poor Brie when certain people found out who her biological Mother was. I'd like to think that it's 'just' fiction, but I'm sure some people would react that way in real life too, unfortunately.
I love Fin, in fact, I love all the other (numerous) characters in this book too. The close knit community is just such a warming feeling that I felt included too. I was completely wrapped up in their lives, especially Brie's; her life has just got complicated after becoming the beneficiary of her biological mother's estate. What a cruel and unusual woman we discovered her to be.
The journey of discovery is certainly compelling. Fin is a lovely man.. once he gets over himself and his 'rules.' I love his family and friends and the way they all gather Brie into their group. Everyone is watching the relationship between Fin and Brie with a smirk and a smile as they all love that Fin has finally broken his no repeats, no locals and no relationship rules.
This is my first book by Shannon Richard and I really love it; I also discovered the reason for the amount of characters in the book... This is book number seven and the last in a series. I might add that this DOESN'T alter my enjoyment, it just makes me want to read all the other books in the series.

I have loved this book pretty hard. It is emotional, sexy, and extremely hot. This is book 8 in the Country Roads series and though you meet a ton of previous characters and can get a bit lost in them if you hadn't read the books before the other books aren't necessary to enjoy this one. It will however make a reader really want to read them.
Finn and Brie aren't looking for serious. Finn especially isn't, he is in fact fighting hard not to find it. Brie is more free spirited about it. I really like Brie's outlook on life and how she handles things. She is very down to earth and extremely relatable. Finn is exactly how I expect a man to act, an a-hole. But he don't despair he does redeem himself and is a fantastic match for lovely Brie.

Finn can be a little antsy at times, “let’s go.” He grabbed on to her waist, spinning her around and lightly smacking her on the ass. “Before I eff you on the stairs.” Finn sometimes can't believe he has a good thing with his girl, “I’m torn between saying I just write a check and we stay in tonight, and wanting everyone in this whole damn town to see you on my arm.” I loved this book, I loved Finn.

I have to put aside how ridiculous Finn acted when he found out Brie's reason for being in town, because it was so juvenile. Other than that, I loved this story. Brie's birth mother was quite the character even without physically appearing in the book.

WOW!! I love this series and this novel was a perfect way to end it!!! I loved seeing all the old characters and meeting new ones. Finn and Brie were destined!! Mirabelle will always feel like home!!

I love this series. Each book is as good as the last one I read. Each one delivers giggles, passion and at times heartbreak. Well done!
