I received this book in exchange for an honest review..... And Wow! This one about had me in tears, so there's no need for me to mention just how well written this story undoubtedly is. Layton plans a kidnapping to get his father's (Governor) love, or at the very least his attention. I really didn't like his father at all, just saying. His friend who he hasn't spoken to in three months helps him stage the kidnapping. While they're hiding out they both come to terms with how they feel about everything, really. I don't want to say too much because I definitely wouldn't do this book justice. It was touching, and heartwarming, and oh, I do love that there were bulletproof vests on the police dogs. That's awesome. I hope they always do that in reality because I worry about those poor dogs a lot. However, I was on the edge of my seat sometimes because I just wanted Kyle and Layton to be happy. Kyle had a very difficult past and I was feeling for him. I had no idea how this was going to end since they were in so deep, especially Kyle. Again, beautifully executed or written. :) This did a great job of stirring up many emotions. I enjoyed this immensely. :) Oh, and there was plenty of angst to me. That's what kept me on the edge. Layton had so much angst that I was getting irritated. I did like him though a lot for keeping Kyle as a friend and helping him through some things in their past. What they have is special and so is this book. :)

An enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book but there were a couple of things that could have made it better. I’m always willing to suspend belief when reading romantic fiction but there was one area in this story that I found went a little too far. I’m not going to give spoilers but my problem wasn’t with the scheme that Layton dreamed up and dragged Kyle into; it was with something they did after they knew their whereabouts had been found out.

The gay for you aspect wasn’t bad but there wasn’t as much conflict between the characters as there could have been. All in all an enjoyable read. Since this was the first book shown on Amazon for this author I’m sure the writing will continue to improve. I would read more books by Beau Bishop.

This review is from: Until Kyle: A Gay for You Romance (Kindle Edition)

I received this book as an ARC and I got 10 pages in and realized that I had read this book before. I can't remember how long ago but the story came back to me like it was yesterday. Its a different spin on falling for your best friend. Layton is the governor's son, the golden boy. Kyle is the bad boy who has already spent ntime in jail. Layton who feels his father hates him calls on Kyle to help him test his father's feelings for him. I liked the book but thought Layton acted more like a early high school student instead of a young man in college. Towards the end he seemed to mature and act more like the young man he's supposed to be.

I received this book free for an honest review.
I'm not sure about this book. In one way it was quite an enjoyable read but then when you think about the subject and plot line it just seems so far fetched.
But looking at it from the point of view it's a work of fiction and doesn't have to make too much sense it was an okay read.
I think for what you see of the characters they were well written. The gay for you was written okay not much angst about the decision really.
I would be I interested in reading more by this author I always find novellas difficult as a lot of the time I could see the whole plot being better with more depth.

A bit childish.

Ok: before I start, I apologize for offending anyone but...smoking is a turnoff to me when reading these books, so I didn't enjoy it anyway after that. However, even so, I still thought it was a bit childish, and I did not feel any chemistry at all between the two boys. The whole book felt like it was missing emotion, believability and love.

Where do I start? Kyle and Layton had the best of friendships. While not in contact, but still there for you no matter what. And shows that things could always go worse but hopefully they don't have to.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this story. The history between the men, how their relationship developed was beautiful. I believe that this story, or bromance, well deserves the 5* I have given it.
