The end goal of this book is something I can get behind, but there is far too much "woo" in this for me, and at times Lister seems to promote things that are not scientifically proven, or have been proven to have detrimental health effects ("yoni" steaming, or jade eggs). This is a book for those who love Goop, and not those who love Cunt: A Declaration of Independence.

Oy vey. Here we go.

The voice was very funny. She is a witty, fast paced, well spoken lady. But when you have to acknowledge that your book is a little "woo woo", that is concerning to me.

I just can't jive with the amount of anecdotal evidence in this thing!

Idolizing your vagina to the extent that she does is, while humorous, deeply concerning for people who are in relationships with men. In fact she mentions multiple times how much she struggles to be with a man!

There are some pieces of advice that seem downright medically unsound, and the seeming rejection of scientific knowledge in general is a bit worrying.

Points the book is right on: we should be familiar with our body and know what is pleasurable, normal, and be in tune with our emotions.

Things I'm never, never going to do: squat over an A4 sized paper to map out my yoni (her words) and turn it into artwork, write in a red notebook with red inc as a symbol of my blood, go off of the pill or drink tea to get pristinely red period blood with no clots, or ever and I mean ever connect with my "womb space" or listen to my "labia lips".

Look. I get it. It's fun to go to the extreme. It's fun to make yourself "holy" (her words) and insist on your own divinity and make yourself into your own like goddess, and it's fun to really immerse yourself into it with these cyclical calendars that dont revolve around work like a "dude"s would (she said dude SO many times). But unfortunately, honey dear, life is simply not that kind.

I need to work.

I was recommended this book as a way to embrace being a size I hate being. I am fat. Theres no way around it. But this book just reminded me that lovely myself regardless of my circumstances doesnt mean I cant work on myself at the same time - and that's good! It also made me laugh. Constantly. And also want to throw up. It was a really gross, messy, a bit bloody book. And it was super over the top.

If it was genuinely listed as humour, this would get 5/5. But it isn't. It is a serious book about some insane shit. I enjoyed reading it for the same reason why people watch Big Brother.

Thanks for the laughs, and thanks for the some pieces of good advice. It was a ride. I'm not doing any of that stuff. Peace out!

Amazing book full of great insights, practical homework and juicy tidbits. Based on the title and cover, I was a bit sceptical, but found that I loved this book so much more than any other on this subject.

I give this a solid three stars.
It's a good intro to periods and how they mirror the cycles of the moon and the changing of the seasons, but there's not enough practical information in it. The information given is also more appropriate for a rich woman as well and much of it doesn't seem grounded in reality. At one point she seems to suggest taking off from work every month to honor your cycle, which I'm sure is something most women cannot do for a variety of reasons. The author stretches it out with anecdotes from her own personal life. Some of the anecdotes sound far fetched.
I did love her book Witch. That book really resonated with me, but this one was too much rambling. She also has links to her site where you can go to download worksheets and more information on what she is talking about throughout the book, but the links lead nowhere.

I really enjoyed this book, I’ve never read one quite like it. It’s full of interesting information and unusual breathing techniques to try such as ‘womb breathe’. I found it really interesting and I have certainly taken many positive things away from reading it, such as accepting my period, allowing it to happen and not taking painkillers. I found Lisa Lister’s advice to be very powerful and inspiring. I’ve given this book three stars because sometimes the views can be to extreme for me and suggest things I find completely barmy such as the womb humping. As well as presenting opinions as fact. Over all this was a interesting read and great book for promoting positivity around vaginas.

While Lisa is an entertaining writer and her openness about her own life is to be admired, there’s far too much woo and repetition. There’s also some awful and frankly weird advice too - how many women can truly take time off work when their period comes calling? I also have no interest in most of the activities - too bizarre, even for me. It’s not often I leave a book unfinished, but I gave up on this one about halfway through. If this book were half the length and Lisa didn’t ramble on so much it would be a much better read.

I recommend to take time for this book. I read it with breaks and found out I read it when I felt like connecting with this topic. It took a longer time to finish this book, but it was very insightful and interesting. I love the positive way of Lisa's writing. Beside reading the book I have done much for myself and so the outcome, to love my lady landscape, worked out for me. It was a great feeling to realise I already do love my "down there" unconditionally and can skip the tips of the book. Not all I read I found the right thing for me and I let some parts of the book unread; everyone is different and has different experiences and views at things. The book contains many tips, practices and recipes. Although I don't use all of them, I definitely recommend to continue reading, it's worth it. Just skip what doesn't serve you and take what does. Have fun!

I enjoyed the message and theme of this book. Some may not have but I found it so refreshing to read the truth about our feminine selves. The permission to explore and expand our connection with ourselves. I think this is great for any woman feeling disconnected from her femininity or for girls coming into womanhood. This is a bit intense for some tender girls but the concepts and messages are so empowering if we as women are going to learn to love ourselves first. This is not about the rise of the feminine, this is about truly honoring and finding yourself through your body.

Personally I actually really loved this book! I’ve been out of touch with my body for a while and although some of it was yes a bit far fetched, there is a lot to take from this book! Standing up as a woman owning who you are and where you came from! I have taken lots from this book and I think it is a good start to becoming more aware of your body, aware of the signs when your body is unhappy and also aware of what pleases you.

It’s probably not for everyone but if you want to get in touch with your body (all of your body) then have a read.
Blessed be

I really appreciate Lisa's acknowledgment that you do not have to bleed or have a womb to read and connect to this book. Regardless of the bits you have, it is a book about reconnecting with your body and nature's cycles, to take care of yourself and listen to your body, and embracing power within femininity. Not that you have to classify yourself as feminine to understand the concepts in the book. She is an amazing storyteller.
If you only want western ideologies and medicines, this book is not for you!

I loved this and Code Red. Lisa is a great storyteller. While I can see that this book won’t be for everyone I loved listening to it. I did have some moments of well I’m not doing that or really?! Others parts really resonated. Wise, warm and funny. A call to arms to get to know, listen and enjoy our bodies more.

This book is awesome and could be like therapy for lots of women! It can help you realize your power and essence on a spiritual and emotional level. It has lots of therapeutic exercises for self-healing:) People have to be open-minded though. But, you have to dive very deep into the human psyche, femininity, spirituality and how we evolved. I love what she explains about the menstrual cycle! It is a very light and simple read, and the author can be funny:) I think it would be helpful if she offered some insight on the masculine energy (for people who are not exactly familiar with masculine energy) to give a somewhat broader picture of the polarity between the two. But I guess the book is supposed to focus only on the feminine, which is understandable. I think all women should give this a read:)

I good book to help you connect to your she-power and to your body. Informative if you aren't super knowledgable about practices relating to your physical body and how it influences your emotional and mental state. Focuses on aligning with the female essence. Lots of practical practices to connect with yourself as a person with a uterus/fem soul.

Lisa is a fantastic writer. This is the second book of hers I have read and I am officially a huge fan. She explains the menstrual cycle beautifully and has some fantastic points and thoughts in the book. I love it when these kinds of books can relate back to science a little bit, which wasn’t found here, but I know that wasn’t Lisa’s intention. Overall a good book though.

I loved this power so much that I bought my mother her own copy to help her heal her feminine self. I truly love this book for anyone with a womb or used to have a womb - it's a deep level of truth to learning how to live deep into your center. I re-read this regularly when I need to dig into my sense of self.

I love Lisa and there was great information in this book every woman should read.
After reading her book, Witch, I expected more. Exactly what? Don't know, but more all the same. I will still one day pick up her first book, Code Red.

At start I wasn't sure that I liked the tone and the language since there was a bit too much ’mumma’ going on but I got over it quickly since the book was very informative and covers a lot of ground.
Anyone interested in subject will benefit from reading it.

It's written in a magnificent way, but I believe it's meant for radical changes.
The spirituality in this book is very deep and not suitable for all of us.
The educational part in this book is very interesting, especially about the part of the menstruation cycle.

This book I picked up after Code Red and while it is in Lisa’s normal style of empowering writing. I was slightly disappointed as a lot of the same information was repeated in this book from Code Red. So while the message was good for the book it did feel like I was reading the same book twice

As much as I love Lisa, I was so disappointed... if you have read code red before this book you'll understand, so much of it seems to have been copy pasted... both books have a very similar message, and for me... code red was better. Sorry Lisa
