Two old classmates are brought together because of a case. Bea and Laz knew each other growing up being Bea was friends with Laz’s sisters. Lazarus took great pride in making fun of Bea throughout their youth. Not understanding that the teasing was because there was interest and chemistry.

When Bea’s gun shop is vandalized she is forced to work with Laz who is a Texas Ranger. She hasn’t seen him in the past 10 years. Before they can move on and deal with the case at hand, first they have to open and deal with old wounds before they can move on and catch a thief.

Childhood nemesis, secret crush and ranger Lazarus 'Laz' Graham was the topping on theft victim Beatrice 'Bea' Cartwright's horrible day. After discussing the awkwardness of childhood cruelty and pranks, Bea offers on accompanying Laz as he goes through his investigation. An offer Laz flatly refused so Bea made her case. With brief persuasion an offer Laz had his own reasons for accepting.

Laz and Bea's growth arcs are easily seen as they get reacquainted and work together to resolve the countywide smash and grab crime spree while the reader had time to invest in both characters. The family, romance and sex pieces are equally satisfying and underscore the leads as a working couple surrounded by well drawn characters and nicely done world building keep the quick pace.

"LAZARUS" (Circle Eight Millennium Series) by Beth Williamson is a great read. I loved reading about Laz and Bea. This story has passion, crime solving, second chances, coming home again, hot cowboy lawmen, and more. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Recommend to all fans of romance.

Great Story

This book keeps you reading wondering if Bea and Laz will find a way to get over the past and start a future together. It is very well written.
