Since my childhood, I've been passionate about fantasy. After reading many stories of epic struggle set in worlds of magic, I've decided to create a world of my own. The Seven Isles is the result.
Book II of the Dragonfall series was a little more action packed than the first. It's though Wells is coming into his stride. Ben now accepts his position as the Wizard and is in search of the Codex in order to find a way to slay the dragon that is enslaving and destroying humanity. His journey takes him through many hostile situations and accompanied by his small band of followers and his wonder dog Homer, with which he can converse with, they continue their journey and quest. Wells is an excellent story teller and has a wonderful way of visually creating the journey for us, as readers, to follow along. Part of that journey includes Ben's emotional struggle with the fact that he might have to kill his brother Frank who is now in bed with the bad guys. Again, another excellent adventure from this fantasy author.
I really enjoyed book one and book two continued exactly where it ended. I hate it when years have gone by. The main character Ben and his loyal friends have developed from boys, young men and women into more mature individuals. All except his hopeless twin with his entitled outlook on life. He is as despicable as Ben is honorable, kind and loyal. With his wonderful dog, Homer, always at his side, they fight on against impossible odds.
This is far better than book 1, Ben became the leader and he is learning magic but yet again he let his enemies grow. He should have stopped his brother but naw he will regret it. looking forward to book 3.
The second book in this series is as exciting and thought provoking as the first book. As the characters continue on their journey, the tension increases. I can't wait to read the next book.c if
This story is a very entertaining and fast paced action packed book. The only bad is the Author is silly and stupid for doing cliffhanger ending. I say that because I won’t read any of his series until they are done because of that practice.
This book was not quite as good as the first book but still very good. There are lots of new characters and lots of running, jumping and bombing. Ben is the main man but Homer is my favorite. I'm a dog lover, so shoot me. Happy Reading!
Excellent fast paced story with more character development. The story of Ben and his friends continue as more "thing" are after him. Great series so far on to book three.
I really enjoyed this book. The first one was a little slow, and Frank was annoying, so I was hesitant going into this book, but this one really picked up the pace and I enjoyed the introduction of a few new characters. I’m excited to finish the trilogy.
I read the Dragonfall Trilogy as one. I loved all the books. Let's face it, who wouldn't want their pet to be able to talk to them!? The tension was well maintained and I was sad to finish these books.
There are certain "tells" that indicate the use of AI as an assist to writing. Although I am planning on finishing this trilogy, I am hopeful that the final book uses much less AI in its creation. Fair enough?
I loved this book & am now reading book 3 of the trilogy. Great fun & set in Oregon & Northern California. For a great read & excellent escapism which is well written, I highly recommend.
Seventy-five years ago, the dragons fell from the sky. We thought they were just meteorites—six terrifying explosions rang the world like a bell. When the dust settled, we went on with our lives as though nothing had happened. More than a decade later, five of the eggs hatched. The dragons that emerged were small and weak. They kept to the shadows, working in secret to persuade people to do their bidding, offering magic as payment and reward. Years passed … and still we didn’t notice the evil growing in our midst. The war began suddenly. Survivors called it the ‘apocalypse’—nine billion people killed in an afternoon. Then the dragons revealed themselves, burning huge swaths of what remained, taunting and mocking and murdering the survivors. Four leaders arose: The Wizard, the Dragon Rider, the Monk, and the Dragon Slayer. Allied with the rebel dragon, they waged war for years until they too were defeated, scattered, or killed. When the war ended, only one dragon remained … but that single dragon was enough to plunge the world into tyranny. The Dragon's Egg is the first book in the post-apocalyptic, epic fantasy series--The Dragonfall Trilogy. This book had me captive right from the startJust like the first book! This book like the first uncovers alot of interesting secrets, all the way through til the end. The real problem is his brother Frank who ends up like something you wouldn't believe.. The difference between Ben and his brother Frank are very evident as you read (No Spoilers)(I wanted to kill him). I really got into this book. I believe you will also! Great Reading Everyone!!!!!!!! An interesting mix of magic, dragons, demons, shapeshifters etc. and hi-tech sci-fi with embedded augments, pulse rifles and more. Accepting that he must become the new ‘Wizard’ and make what will probably turn out be a futile attempt to kill the one remaining dragon Ben sets of for an old ATCC stronghold the last known resting place of the Dragon Codex the last remaining magical text book. As one could expect they journey is anything but straightforward, with battles, betrayals with more than one formidable foe following him trying to get the last remaining Dragon Egg back from Ben.
I had to give a thumbs up on this series! I love reading books that feel like you're watching a movie, this book pulled me into the movie! The story flowed from the first book to this book flawlessly. I don't like cliff hangers, because I'm impatient, but you definitely are left wanting more. Really a great read, I definitely would recommend this book.
It is far better than the first as it has more positive outcomes then the first, it makes reading happy. Codex came a little late. Can't wait for the next one.
Dark futures where the good side didnt win can be dicey. With a 2nd book in the series, I can say the author is well on his way to setting up the series to be well worth a readers time.
I was really into the first book, but after reading this one I'm not sure how I feel. I'm not very good at expressing myself but I feel the characters are off and the telling mesh too much to identify who's expressing what. It's like the author forgot who's speaking. Yes there were actions and yes it's fast pace but...
