Taylor Hart has one job—she’s a cleaner for the largest pharmaceutical company in the world. But cleaning doesn’t mean mopping floors…
Taylor cleans up illegal messes Lazarus Pharmaceuticals creates, making sure their atrocities are never discovered by the public. But when their latest multi-trillion-dollar drug goes terribly wrong, not even Taylor can keep the fallout in check.
Vanidrum was supposed to be a miracle drug to drive away mankind’s inner demons—but it’s managed to achieve the opposite effect…
Paid to look the other way, Taylor can’t ignore the spreading epidemic. Rather than cure anxiety and depression, Vanidrum has caused the very darkest part of human nature to push though to the surface.
While infected maniacs spread the virus, Taylor and her team fight for survival…
Forced to a secluded lab hidden in the tundra of Alaska, an elite group of scientists works to find a cure. In a world infested with violent creatures spreading humanity’s darkness, no one is safe.
It isn’t until Taylor herself falls victim to the threat that she discovers her connection to this darkness runs far deeper than she’d ever imagined.
Can Taylor and the surviving scientists bring humanity back from the edge of extinction? Or will they be forced to watch as the darkness inside mankind consumes… All the Beautiful People.

I was sent an ARC of All the Beautiful People in exchange for a honest review.
To give this story a honest review I have to start by saying what a bloody good read this story is. I absolutely loved the book from start to finish and ended up reading it in just a few hours because once I started I couldn't put it down.
"Taylor Hart has one job—she’s a cleaner for the largest pharmaceutical company in the world. But cleaning doesn’t mean mopping floors…"
The story starts on Taylor's latest job and what turns out the be one of the first outbreaks of The Darkness. Some may say that this story is yet another "zombie" outbreak story but it is so much more than that as people are turned by a drug that is meant to cure anxiety and depression but instead brings out the very darkest part of human nature. After her latest job things just start getting worse and worse as Taylor tries to avoid standing on anyone's toes, not helped by her operator Jason who wants to know exactly what is going on. Can the light fight the darkness and overcome the end of the world.
Jonathan Yanez is a new author to me but I will definitely be reading more of his stories in the future and I definitely can not wait till the second story in this series as I want to know more about these wonderful characters!
The first book in The Dread Novels. All the Beautiful People is a survival story, set in the middle of the timeline of my expanding universe. Find out more at www.jonathan-yanez.com
An escapist read for me in between months of reading non-fiction. A new and amazing drug is release, which brings out the 'darkness' in people, turning them into self mutilating monsters. The story follows the pharmaceutical company and their workers, including a kick-ass woman, who work and fight against these ravaging people. I enjoyed the ending on this one.
Jonathan Yanez is a new author to me but, having read this book, I suspect I’m about to become much more familiar with his stories. All the Beautiful People is different sort of zombie apocalypse novel, set in a present world where the zombie virus is just getting started.
Taylor Hart is a “cleaner”, the person the multinational pharmaceutical company she works for sends in to clean up the mess when a patient has an adverse reaction to one of their drugs. She cleans up the mess, usually before the media or the law gets hold of the story – and she’s very good at her job, but when she’s sent in to take care of a situation with Mr. Jones, a patient prescribed a newly released drug called Vanidrum, she almost immediately knew that something was different about this one.
As Taylor and Lazarus Pharmaceuticals scramble to contain the damage, the world around them quickly spins out of control but there is a hope – a former Lazarus employee who warned them something like this might happen. If they can just bring him back to the Lazarus compound, he might have the cure that could save the world.
I’m not normally a zombie reading kind of girl, but I loved All the Beautiful People. It is fast paced, action packed and suspense filled with new surprises and crisis on every page and a surprise ending you won’t see coming. If you’re a science fiction, zombie apocalypse or dystopian thriller fan you’ll love this one, but be warned, it might just make you a little more cautious the next time your doctor tells you he’s got this new little pill that’ll fix everything.
437 Pinehurst Road. Taylor Hart (LP operator/cleaner) & Mrs. Jones (wife) watched in horror as Mr. James Jones body/face started to disintegrate. Taylor managed to tie him down.
LA, CA. Lazarus Pharmaceuticals (LP) sold/distributed worldwide. Vanidrum was supposed to be a miracle drug. But it did not seem to work that way. Rachelle (student) was found in the bathroom. She was wild/crazy & was locked in there for the time being Amber (Rachelle’s BFF) was covered in blood. Jason Waters (LP operator/cleaner) was also helping with the cases. Frank Caster, & Captain George Martin, informed Taylor & Jason about Operation Snatch & Grab is a go.
Archangel 1, Archangel 2, & Archangel 3 will travel to Dr. Jenkins residence, codename Lighthouse. Dr. Valery Spear) biology & research team) was going to administer a battery of tests on Taylor. Will the science teams find out what is causing this catastrophe?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written paranormal thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great paranormal thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

In a world in which everyone wanting to write about the end of civilization/zombies/the decline of humankind this author ups the ante by developing characters that you care about and root for. I found myself trying to sneak away just to read another page or two. I didn't even realize initially that it was a series but I will definitely be grabbing the 2 subsequent novels today.
Well written. Great character development. As an erotica/contemporary romance writer this was definitely a welcome respite from my "usual" reads.
Pharmacy lines are around the corner. Everyone is trying to get their hands on Vanidrum. The newly released and most sought after drug in the world. Its main purpose is to provide pure joy and inner happiness to its users. But it has one nasty side effect that no one anticipated, and this is where our heroine, Taylor Hart, comes in. She’s a Cleaner for Lazarus Pharmaceutical. The creators of Vanidrum. Whenever someone has a problem with one of their products, they send her to handle the situation. She takes care of it through words or with fists. Either way, she gets the job done, because the public can never know about the dangerous side effects of her employer's pills.
The story starts with Taylor dealing with a maniacal man, who recently took Vanidrum. When he refuses to lie unconscious after a few hard kicks to the noggin, Taylor begins to suspect that something is wrong. Her suspicions are confirmed when she gets a second call to handle another Vanidrum situation. This one even crazier than the first because it seems like everyone has gone mad. Taylor manages to escape the hordes of people tearing each other apart, and then is sent to retrieve a doctor, who predicted the devastating results of the drug. By now, majority of the population has been overtaken with their inner darkness. And Taylor spends the rest of the book, fighting against these widely insane humans to protect those in the pharmaceutical company.
All The Beautiful People had me hooked. Halfway through, I was already sending out book recommendations to my friends. Then I got to the end and was thoroughly disappointed. Throughout the story, Taylor was such a major badass, using nothing but knives and guns to drop the infected. After something unfortunate happened to her, she literally became Avatar: The Last Airbender.
So… it went from this:
To this:
But I'm still giving it 4 stars because I enjoyed the shit out of this book and I loved Taylor’s personality. More books need strong female leads like this. So yes, I highly recommend All The Beautiful People.
Taylor Hart is a cleaner for a pharmaceutical company. When something goes wrong with a drug she takes care of it by any means necessary. A loner, Taylor has little contact with her employer but all that changes with her newest assignment.
The company’s new mood-altering drug, Vanidrum, is supposed to make people feel good about themselves and free them from insecurities. It’s been a wonderful worldwide success, but then Taylor is called in on a case where things have gone terribly wrong. Within hours it becomes clear that Vanidrum is turning its users into nearly unstoppable killers and, to everyone’s horror, the condition is contagious, spreading by contact with blood or saliva.
Taylor finds herself part of a team trying to halt the building disaster. Taylor's icy shell begins to melt and she finds herself caring about her new teammates as they try to keep each other alive and find a way to stop the disaster. The company has tremendous resources to assign to stopping the problem, but will it be enough to save humanity from the darkness?
Although this book was not what I was expecting, I was quickly drawn in to the exciting story. There's lots of action as the fast-paced story plays out. The writing is very good and the the plot has plenty of surprises. Once I got into the book I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys action thrillers. Don’t start reading before bedtime, though. The sometimes gory action could lead to very unpleasant dreams.
All the Beautiful People is the first book in the Dread Novel series by Jonathan Yanez. I received a free copy from the author for an honest review.
This book pulled me right in from the first chapter. This is not a genre I read often but it was so well written I really enjoyed the story and characters. Taylor Hart is a Cleaner for Lazarus Pharmaceutical which means she is called in to resolve issues stemming from using a Lazarus product such as an OD and she must do it discreetly. Jason Waters is her Operator who contacts her with pertinent info so she can handle the problem.
In the opening chapter Taylor is sent to the residence of James Jones for an unknown problem. James' wife is almost hysterical and difficult to understand. Taylor is led to the room where James is frantically looking for something and has his back to her. He finally finds a letter opener and turns to face Taylor. James' face is cut and sliced in multiple places and is mumbling "let me let your inner beauty out" and is closing in on Taylor who is eventually able to take him down. This is one of the first victims of the new drug, Vanidrum, manufactured by Lazarus Pharmaceuticals but he is not the last.
This story had me sitting on the edge of my seat as the suspense continually ramped up throughout the book. Mr. Yanez is a fabulous writer and has a plot in this book that is unbelievable but he makes it plausible. Great book! I can't wait until the next one.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
Erm....I'm glad so many other people really enjoyed this book; I have very different feelings. It started out pretty well, good pace, appropriately developed characters. Then out of nowhere came the unexpected and it ruined it for me. This book mixed up its genres (which separately I enjoy) and made quite a mess. I'm not saying that can't be done well, I'm saying I don't think this is a good example.
In addition to the confused genre situation I thought the end was just bad. The build up was the majority of the book and the conclusion was a short blip at the end which came far too easily. It's almost like the author got bored and said "well, I guess I'll end it now".
Perhaps my points about this story are best made using an analogy - this book is like Harry Potter spending all his time running from Lord Voldemort just to end up pulling out a gun and blowing him away. If that happened the whole story would be ruined and the end would be short, too easy, and a complete let-down.
I liked this book. It had a strong female lead and interesting characters. It got a little too Mary Sue in the middle with the main character but the author reigned it in and the story worked. I like the religious angle of the light vs the dark without being heavy handed. I will be reading the next one in the series when it comes out.
Another one out of the park! Way out of the park!!
First I have to admit that zombies terrify me, so I don't read zombie books. This is not a zombie book, but it sure scared me bloodless nonetheless. Even though this action packed book is a thrill a minute read, you will also be blown away by the cerebral elements. We all live with our secret darkness, but what if there was a drug you could take that brought that darkness out and sprinkled glitter on it? What if we loved our darkness, and wanted to share it?
Taylor is a cleaner, and a really cool rockum sockum warrior. She cleans up messes for a drug company, not a job I'd want, but sounds like the pay is good. When a new drug causes it's users to let it all hang out, all their blood and guts (yuck), and they want everyone to join the party, Taylor is bringing her cleaning skills instead of a nice hostess gift.
This story wastes no time getting into the action and I love every non stop part of it! The battle of good versus evil never gets old and the unique battle in this tale is totally worth the read!!! I didn't really know what to expect, but hands down I am hooked and looking forward to book two!! I was given an ARC with no expectations other than an honest review, and this amazing book made this review a joy to write!
(3.5?) This started off really promising. At first it felt a lot like World War Z, but with a lot more morality and in depth looks into the human heart and spreading darkness. But, as interesting as this was, especially the fight scenes, it kind of lost me towards the end. I would have given it 4 stars except the last 60 pages or so knocked it down. Also...like...is there going to be a second book? I didn't appreciate how this ended and I need to know more.
I can't begin to describe this book but I can tell you I couldn't put it down. It's about fighting darkness, being a light, and forming unbreakable bonds along the way. I'll be in a book coma for awhile from this.
Plus perfect book for the Halloween season. Creepy with morals. LOVED this book.
