Lured (Gargoyle Guardian Chronicles #3.5) by Rebecca Chastain is a short story that comes right after the third Gargoyle Guardian book. It is short but a great read about a siren and how Mika has to save her man! A quick action packed adventure with her and, of course, the gargoyles. I received this copy free from being on the author's newsletter.

I love Rebecca Chastain's Gargoyle Guardian's Chronicles and I love it when authors give a little something extra to their fans so Lured appealed to me on several levels. This is a fairly short novella that can be downloaded completely free by fans who sign up to the author's newsletter.

Please be aware that this story is set after the three main books in the series so if you're not up to date then you will get spoilers. I don't think this is a great place to start reading the series because it gives far too much away about events that happen during the book so thats definitely something you should be aware of before picking it up.

Having said that fans of the series are going to love this! It's set not long after the end of Secret of the Gargoyles, in fact it starts with Mika, Marcus and Oliver beginning the journey home after their latest adventure, but they get waylaid by something that has it's sights set on Marcus. It's up to Mika and Oliver to come up with a way to rescue him and it's going to take everything she's got to win the day.

This was a really quick but very fun read, I loved spending more time with these characters and I'm really hoping that this isn't the last we'll see of Mika and her friends. Fingers crossed for more books in the future!

(Read this short story after you’ve read the trilogy)

Following events in book three, Mika, Marcus, and Oliver are in for an action filled morning when their journey back home is waylaid by an electrifying distraction. This story was packed with quick thinking, engaging battles, and an unexpectedly entertaining ending to a wild adventure!

This was an excellent little story to follow-up with the trilogy. I was generally worried for Marcus and Gus (though, less about Gus). You can see the growth and development with Oliver more (I think he's my favorite character).

I didn’t enjoy this much as an extra. The whole story is about gargoyles and then bam, something not gargoyle related. It threw me off as I was expecting a little more romance after the two got together, maybe even a meet up with her friend and the rest of the squad. A little disappointed.

I'd like to amend my previous statement : this is the perfect ending to the trilogy. This short story where Mika saves Marcus from a siren with the help of Oliver was just perfect. I love those characters so much and the budding romance between Mika and Marcus is adorable.

How would you fight off a siren? Would a gargoyle help?

This quick story is a battle between a siren on one side and Mika and her crew on the other. Just read to enjoy the different techniques she and Oliver apply to battle the siren.

A short but almost deadly interlude after the strenuous struggles of the Chronicles ...

Very short - one magical encounter. More from Mika and Oliver - nice to revisit them but not much more substance.

This is a tidbit that was not included in book 3. This was fun to read. Do not read this part if you have not read the set yet.
In order to save the sick Gargoyles, Mika needed a way to get them there. Since all the problems on the mountain, the train does not go up the side of the mountain anymore. So they had to rent a sled from this guy Gus and his Cerberui. He is a nasty little man and does not take them all the way up but effuses to give the money back unless they make it back down. And boy is he in for a surprise when Marcus and Mika come to find him for their refund so to speak man I loved this part. There is more to it when on the way home they get attached and Mika has a fight for her life to save the man she loves. Let’s just hope she can do it.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.

I miss Mika, Oliver, and Marcus so I was happy to find out that there was a short story published by the author after book 3 of the Gargoyle Guardian Chronicles came out. I'm a huge fan of this series by Rebecca Chastain and Lured was a wonderfully quick trip back into the world she created. Please make sure you read the rest of the series before you read Lured or it will spoil things for you big time!

Fun, short story with Mika, Marcus, and Oliver. I wasn't expecting the monster they confronted, but it made for a really intense story that I genuinely enjoyed. I think the romance at a couple points, while sweet, was a little unrealistic, though that didn't stop me from rooting for it. This is a great short and I'm glad I signed up for Rebecca Chastain's newsletter to experience it.

A cute short story to go after the others in the series is finished. There are sick gargoyles to be taken care of and not an easy task. Great writing by an amazing author.

Very nice novelette - that takes place after book 3.
We meet a siren, but will it be that easy to deal with her song?

Too much stress, not enough happy ending. I just need a higher ratio of happy vs stress to really enjoy a story.
