The Mountain Man #2

Ordered By The Mountain Man

Rate this book
"You're my wife, and I'm planning on taking you every day. Understood?"
"I understand," I tell him, biting my lip. "You can order me to do whatever you like."

BOONE

I own the premier hunting and fishing lodge in Alaska. And I need a woman to help run it.

I don't want an employee; I need a woman who knows how to take orders in and out of the bedroom.

Delta's not what I expected. She wants an adventure and may not be up for the challenge of running the lodge. But she's gonna need to learn if she wants to keep riding my c*ck.

DELTA

I thought it sounded fun. Like a vacation. Not like a real, actual marriage. But that is exactly what this is. I'm here as Boone's mail-order bride and he means business.

I'd have left already because heaven knows I am a fish out of water here ... but he tricked me.

He took me to bed minutes after I arrived, and now I know what I'd be walking away from if I left.

And while the job is huge, so is his entire package.

But can insta-lust turn into insta-love? I guess I'm going to find out.

WARNING: Don't one-click if you're offended by a strong mountain man with an off-the-chart sex drive and an irresistible urge to take what is his.

Ordered By The Mountain Man is book two in The Mountain Man series by Frankie Love. I really enjoyed the first book of this series but loved this one even more. Delta and Boone were amazing.

Boone’s family has owned the popular Alaskan Hunting Lodge for as long as he can remember. But this past year he and his twin brother lost their parents. The lodge is now their responsibility. Except that his twin, Mason, is not dealing with the loss well. He spends all his time either drinking or chasing women. So all the weight falls on Boone’s shoulders. He went to Monique at the agency and said he wanted a wife to help him run the lodge just like his parents did. His mom put the woman’s touch on everything making it all perfect and he wants the same. He wants a woman that can have sex all night and work in the lodge during the day. That’s not too much of an order for a bride is it?

Country love:

Delta, along with her two best friends, graduated from Oregon State College with her degree in hospitality. Now she faces a pile of student loans and no job, no man, and no place to live. All three of them sign up for the mail order bride list for Alaskan Mountain Men. She never took it seriously, just wanted to do it along with her two best friends since they did everything together. But it all got real when she arrived at the lodge and came face to face with her husband to be, a real live Mountain Man.

Boone and Delta sparked right away, so much so that Boone immediately carried her off to his bedroom. He can’t believe how lucky he is. And the spark ignited to a full fledged Fourth of July fireworks display when they were together. But it doesn’t take long for the second thoughts to start creeping in on Delta. The pastor isn’t due in until the next day and she definitely is not feeling ready to say “I Do!” But she can’t deny that she is fast feeling addicted to Boone’s man parts. So Boone definitely takes advantage of this little fact and whenever things get rocky, he gets her right back in to bed.

“Earlier I wondered why I was staying---but maybe I’m still here because my body knows what it needs more than my heart does.”

..:).:

Delta does not want to be dishonest with Boone. She is a free spirit. She doesn’t think she is ready to settle down for the rest of her life in Alaska. She has things to do, places to see.

“Being here in Alaska doesn’t mean this is your whole world, your only path. Your life can be as big as you make it.”

evergreen tattoo:

I just loved this one. I loved the way Delta took the decision so seriously. Now Boone knew right away he wanted Delta. He knew she was perfect for both him and the lodge. Can he convince her to stay? Can he convince her to be his wife?

“Where did you come from, Boone?”
“I’ve always been here, just waiting for you.”

I can’t wait for Amelia’s story in the next book, Wifed By The Mountain Man.

Cute, fast read.

It's exactly what you expect, it's sweet, fun, cute, fast, but pretty forgettable. Wonderful when you have no idea what to read.

This is book two in the Mountain Man series. Another quick and very smutty read! Even though there is a lot of sex in the story, that is not all there is to the book. In this installment, Boone owns a hunting lodge; when he orders his bride, he is looking for a woman who can not only warm his bed but help out in the lodge. When Delta arrives at the lodge, she feels there is way too much responsibility for her, and not only that....she feels like Boone is looking for someone like his mother was....no way does Delta want to fill his mom's boots. Boone comes across as a real dick; but in the bedroom he is a man Delta could easily fall for. Will they be able to find a connection beyond the bedroom? Or will Delta decide that this is way too much for her and leave?

Even though these books are short, they are quite enjoyable. I find with each couple so far, they both come into the mail order marriage with expectations from the other person that are way too high. They also haven't been given full information on the situation. What I like is that they end up learning that compromise is in order if things are going to work. After all, isn't that what marriage is all about...?

I am glad that I gave this series a try and I look forward to book three!

Hated the heroine. Is it slut shaming if she is a slut? Yuck. No I do not want to hear about your orgies. No I do not want you to almost suggest a ménage with your husband-to-be's twin. I did not make it far because I hated her so much. Hero was a shallow doormat. Talk about role reversal!

Eh, Boone and Delta were cute but I kind of zoned out of this one.

Ordered By the Mountain Man was an okay book. Definitely flew by since I listened to the audio version of it.. but the characters were kind of meh to me. Low-key, just trying to catch up on my freaking reading challenge and I saw that this was just another quick book to zoom through. Unlike the first book of this series, I just didn't like anyone in it. I wanted too.. trust me I tried but they just ended up annoying me.

The romance was okay but the whole mail ordering a bride just weirds me out. Maybe the next book will make me numb to the whole idea? Who knows.. but love is love and eventually the characters within this series find it. Beyond predictable but it's there.

Overall, might as well finish out the series to see how everything plays out. Maybe make it into a drinking game?

NOT FOR ME PERSONALLY
This is not a review but just a note to remind me that this book is not for me.
In this book the heroine is a complete slut! Nothing wrong with that if you like this, but it's not for me personally.
So GOING to PASS!

Ugh. IDK what it was about this one but...not a fan. I didn’t care for the heroine’s attitude (about marriage and about life) and I hated the way these people spoke to each other. I mean, every other word they (all) uttered made me feel like cringing. Sometimes when I read stuff that is this...crude, it makes me wonder: Do I live under a rock or did I take a wrong turn somewhere in Romancelandia?

The heroine in this one – her attitude disgusted me. She doesn’t take much seriously – like marriage – and blames others/things when she does something insane and irresponsible.

Because moving in with a stranger, being his lawfully wedded wife? I have never been more over my head. Well, except for when I nearly dropped out of high school because someone leaked that I’d slept with the student teacher. Or the time I went to Burning Man with my ex, and somehow ended up in the middle of an orgy with approximately seventeen strangers. Or when I went to Peru and was talked into drinking ayahuasca, and found myself stark naked and doing handstands in the middle of the street. At two in the afternoon.
-Ordered By The Mountain Man

Really, bitch? Really?? If you gonna be a hoe, be a proud hoe! Take responsibility for that shit. Just admit you like dick but not people and it's all good. I can appreciate a woman proudly loving sex but I cannot do the "it wasn't my fault, things just happened [to me]" bullshit.

So to make up for her piss poor behavior, this dumb bitch flies to East Bubba Fuck, Alaska to be a mail order bride...because she was embarrassed about the OTHER dumbass shit she’s recently done. PASS.

I’m leaning towards not even bothering trying book 3 in this series. I cringed and skimmed this one until I gave up.

NOTE:The Series title for this series has changed like 3 times since I read this book and the one preceding it. Another reason for me to stay away.

This was much better than the first book of the series. Delta is more self assured, confident, and can talk about her feelings. Boone was gruff and rough on the outside, but he cared about Delta and tried to accommodate her, especially her dietary preferences. They had good chemistry and the sex was whew! so good. The narration was well done and the book flew by.

"Ordered By The Mountain Man" is the story of Delta and Boone.

So basically, our hard on luck heroine answers an advertisement for a mail order bride, only to be delivered to Boone, our uncouth, Alaskan mountain man.

When the book started, I was kinda ok with the immediate addressing of super lust between two horny leads (via hard boinking ofc), as well as the author's choosing of acknowledging issues which would logically arise between two people who come together from different parts of the world.

But..
I honestly did not like the hero. Like at all.

Why?

-He wanted his wife to "Replace" the mother, something that even disturbs the heroine and she questions him about it
-He literally mocks her vegan and healthy lifestyle, doesnt care for her when she becomes sick, and wants to mould her into his "ideal wife". Now I know the author might have been going for the "Caveman" thing where the hero is super alpha, but he came out as obstinate and very self-involved.
-He is super jealous of his twin brother, who keeps stealing his exes, and at one time the slutty twin even tricks and kisses the h (Who cant differentiate between the brothers)

Now the heroine...
I am NOT slut shaming her, and Im also OK with how open she was with her sexuality- but she was kinda openly promiscuous and it seemed, kinda a nympho.

Overall, nothing interested me in the end, and I felt the couple was totally wrong for each other in all aspects- except sexually.

I had trouble connecting with this couple.. lets start off with Delta.. girl thought more with her vagina i love a girl who owns her body and isn't afraid to show it off or knows what she wants... but when it came down to it she let Boone have everything.. it was just sex sex sex..

Now Boone... fuck.. he was a dick.. he made fun of Delta for being a vegan, didn't like that she loved to do yoga cuz his guest dont need that, didnt care for her feelings with the dead animals all around the place (couldnt even get rid of them in their room) wanted her like a 50s wife do what he says like his mother..also he blew up on her for kissing his TWIN BROTHER which was a accident since she thought it was him she couldn't tell them apart.. and instead of blaming his brother who hated Boone he blamed her.. :/ so i wouldn't count it as real cheating cuz girl couldn't tell the differences and she thought it was her man.

I don't think ill read the other stories in this series..

No ow/om drama, sexy time, Drama, Secondary charas, no virgins

I am totally reading this series in the wrong order... oops. But I didn't like this one as much as the third. The characters were just circling around each other and made unnecessary problems. I listened to this one too and it is pretty forgettable. Yet, a fun and quick read.

This is the second book in the Modern Mail Order Brides series. Delta and her two best friends just graduated college and have no jobs and have one week to vacate their student housing. After a night of commiserating and drinking too much wine they go online and sign up to be Alaskan mail order brides to rich men. Boone owns a premier hunting and fishing lodge in Alaska that his parents used to run until they died in a car accident. The lodge has been closed for a few months while Boone and his twin brother were grieving, he's now getting ready to re-open it that's why he wants a wife so she can help him run it. Delta isn't sure she'll fit in and doesn't want to do anything to hurt his family's business but she cannot deny the attraction she has for Boone.

I liked this one! But I do understand there were SOME minor issues with it. The MMC is incredibly OTP. possessive, alpha, whatever you wanna call it. He definitely refers to her as property for over 90% of the book but eventually comes around and realizes he loves her as her not just as an ordered bride. I could see how some readers would have a problem with that.
I didn’t take away from the enjoyment for me. This book is also incredibly spicy. I would say they have sex in damn near every single chapter. Which is also fine with me. I love this authors writing and this is one of her earlier novels and I still think it was really good!! I will be finishing this series!

With this being the second book I realized you just have to go with the premise. I sort of felt sorry for Boone when we first met him and his worthless brother. Sadly I didn't feel that way for long. It seemed like once he met Delta he became a different person, a my way of the highway type, one who wasn't going to bend at all. That bothered me as things would have been gone much smoother with Delta had me just made a couple small changes. Of course Delta should have gone into things with a better mind set than a new adventure. But with that said I was glad that they were able to work things in the end.

I had a back to back to back reading marathon of The Modern Mail-order Bride Romance Series by Frankie Love. This is a collection of novellas about three college fresh-grad best friends who took on a life adventure and signed up to be mail-order brides. Every book featured how each girl fell in love with her stunningly handsome mountain man husband. I loved this series because Everly, Delta, and Amelia girl had different personalities and each book had a unique and enjoyable story. I devoured one book after another and I couldn't stop reading until I finished the last book. So much lumberjack mountain men goodness ! And I'm all smiles.

OREDERED BY THE MOUNTAIN MAN is the second standalone novella in this series...

The only reason Delta agreed to join the mail order bride adventure with her friends was simply that : She needed a new adventure, specifically with lots of sex involved. She's the free spirit among the group, and to her, everything in life is fleeting and temporary. All Boone ever wanted was a warm and willing body who also has the skills to run his lodge. She was scared of this heavy responsibility . She was also scared of dead animals . And she was a vegan . She was able to adjust. But she was disappointed with Boone's insensitivity. When he realized this, it was almost too late for him to get her heart back. But Delta and Boone were soulmates from the start. And so they had their HEA.

This book was hotter than the first book but the plot was equally as sweet and beautiful. Initially, Boone's personality was both likeable and unlikeable at the same time, the latter being so because he always wanted things his way, always thinking that what he decides on is always for the best for everybody, without listening to them. It's a good thing having Delta made him realize his fault and he became more considerate. I'm also impressed with Delta's ability to easily adapt to her new environment even when Boone initially didn't care for their different lifestyles. Her carefree personality was refreshing. Boone and Delta were perfect for each other.

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Ordered By The Mountain Man, all about Boone Grayson a twenty something young man who owne's a hunting lodge in Alaska with his twin brother Mason. He's looking for a mail order bride somebody who can help him manager the lodge, and be his partner in life. In comes Delta, she's fresh out of college has a degree in Hospitality and just graduated from a University in Portland, Oregon. She decides to become a mail order bride, along with her two BFF'S Everly who has a degree in Fine Arts & Amelia who just broke up with her boyfriend of the past four years. All three girls are broke, homeless and boyless and while they are going through the apartment listings for the umpteenth time, they spot an ad for Mail-Order Brides. So in there drunken stupor they call the number, and now all three girls were flown to Alaska to find their husbands. What the girls didn't realize is how far apart they would be from each other, since Alaska is a huge state! Boone is very excited to meet Delta, and it's lust at first sight. Both find the other incredible attractive, and easily fall into the others arm. They are extremely compatible on the physical side, but when they open their month's that's when everything goes to hell! Boone just wants Delta to fall into line, she's his woman, his property end of story. Delta is nobody's property and yes she thinks she wants this marriage, but has a lot of reservations! She's vegan and he's a meat and potato guy, they live off the land and though vegetables are a big part of the food eaten it's not the star of the dish! This is a huge contention between Boone & Delta along with his twin who likes to egg on Boone's women and then get in their pants. Delta has no feelings for Mason and she makes that clear the first time she meets him. The author wrote an incredible story that brings the characters to life! The descriptions of the land are incredible, and the story follows the same path! Read all about Boone & Delta and see if they can overcome their many differences! I can't wait to read book two!

Modern Mail Order Bride Romance Two: "Ordered By The Mountain Man" by Frankie Love.

Delta and Boone......

Delta and her two friends recently found themselves down on their luck; recent college graduates with no job and no money and definitely no men. So one night after a couple of bottles of wine and a pity party, they signed up for a Mail Order Bride service. Soon after that night they found themselves boarding a plane to take them to their future husbands and sadly away from each other.

Delta was outgoing and confident. She was not shy and definitely not lacking when it came to sexual experience. That was a good thing because being sexually experienced was one of the prerequisites of her future husband. And that was where I frowned. :/ I prefer my heroines a bit less promiscuous. I don't expect them all to be virgins just not so bold. That's just my preference; I like to see that shy blush and some timidness to endear me better to the heroine.

Boone was...holy hell! Sexy and gorgeous! He was crazy alpha and arrogant. Just outright bossy. He wanted everything his way with no exceptions. So, yeah, this was where I was thrilled with Delta's confidence and take no cr*p attitude.

From the moment they met, and I mean that literally, their chemistry was crazy hot. And it got hotter! Of course it wasn't the fact they couldn't keep their hands away from each other that caused conflicts between them; it was Boone's domineering stubbornness. I won't go into details since this a quick read but I totally loved seeing the moment Boone realizes he has been a jerk.

And damn! A five carat diamond ring!? Where can I sign up? Nowhere actually...pretty sure my husband wouldn't approve. lol :)

All that being said, I love Frankie's super sexy, instalove/lust novellas!

3.5 stars! Better than the first.

As soon as I saw the link for this book was live I immediately one-clicked and dug in. It took me about the first 15% of reading to realize that the first book was just ok for me. I think the word "claimed" in the title gets me all excited! That being said, I liked this book a whole lot better! The Hero was much more true to his Alpha-ness but also was much less of an ass as the Hero in book one was. I think my main problem is that the men don't genuinely care about making the heroines happy upon their initial arrival and throughout the beginning of their stays. They make no effort to ensure any comforts at all and are only willing to "give them everything" sexually but nothing else. However Boone came back much better and made up for that personal peeve. Now I'm excited to finish with Amelia's story!
