This was a good story in principle but the reality of it left a lot to be desired. And in the end not much is cleared up and we don't get an epilogue just sex sex and more sex. The heroine is a doctor who saves the life of the hero brother after someone injected him with a vile cocktail of drugs. Now she has some baggage but she is mostly strong and caring He is still having sex with his partner at the bounty hunting business he has going along with his MC. I don't like these kinds of book that resolve nothing and the guy is just a dick looking for his own self. She is a Saint and he is better for having her in his life. Not for me and I don't think I would read another by the author as it really dragged on in places and others had too much going on. I don't enjoy that. 1.5 stars. Because I loved them together at some parts and the sex was ok.
2.5-2.75 stars I wanted a biker fix, but this wasn't necessarily one. Sure, the hero was a biker, but MC life did not play a character in this; it was just a smokescreen conflict as to why the heroine was "too good" for the hero.
In any case, similar features abound. Kayla, the heroine, is a doctor, and the hero has inherited a biker club, which dabbles in the illegal, but he also has a side business with an ex, which happens to be legit bounty hunting.
No pleasant surprises. I pegged the villain as soon as possible and where there were chances to apply depth, sex and attempts at interesting plot twists or dialogue tried to make up for it.
Two good notes: this couple has a few good lust-filled encounters that display their vulnerabilities well, and the writing wasn't horrible, especially where some characterization was built.
It has a little bit of mystery, a lot of sexyness and some romance. We have Kayla, the control freak doctor with some regrets in her past that doesn't allow her to be free, and Shane, the MC president/bounty hunter that was abandoned by his father and had to carry the responsibility of the MC and raising his younger brother. They meet, they like each other, they get together, but as always, it can't be that easy.
I liked how strong the character were, Kayla is not some poor girl that needs protection, she is a badass doctor that is in control of her ER and her life. It works because they are both strong and confident and complement each other well.
Good story. Not the typical MC book, but it wasn't horrible. The story flowed nicely and the characters kept things interesting. The plot of the story is about a biker/bounty hunter and an ER nurse. Their lives become entangled due to the main characters brother (Mike) being poisoned by Shane's vicious and jealous ex-girlfriend. However, everyone thinks at first it's just another overdose victim. The heroin in the story is the ER nurse (Kayla), who has a heart of gold and believes that no-one should die alone. She basically runs on fumes after countless hours in the ER, and she's fine with that. Because that way she doesn't have to deal with her own troubles and fears. Those things get discussed further in the book.
When Shane gets the call from one of brother's in the MC he heads down to the hospital. He knows something doesn't sound right when he's told that Mike had an overdose, because Mike didn't do any drugs at all. He was an upstanding businessman who had his stuff together.
When Shane and Kayla first meet it didn't go well at all. In fact Shane wound up getting smacked across the face. He knew he was an ass and had to apologize to Kayla, because without her help he wouldn't be able to get the information that he needed. Especially now that more people that were involved within his club and that are close to him were coming up dead, or close to it.
Like I mentioned before the story is good, but I'm not sure it falls into the category of the usual MC book.
## BAD. REALLY BAD. Don't waste 4-5 hours on this drivel. I can't believe this was even published.
There were so many things wrong with this book, but the one that ruined it completely, was the EX-GIRLFRIEND. This "hero" had broken up with the EX but was still having sex with her and working with her. Everything was about Amber. She called and texted constantly. Amber this, Amber that. He even kept calling out her name while sleeping. And the heroine didn't take it as a hint? One time immediately after sex, the hero took a call all about Amber. When the heroine asks about her, he just says "Don't worry about it". It was so obvious he was still in love with her. He even admitted it later. And the heroine just put up with it. Gah. She should've kicked this guy to the curb. I thought this was going to be a fun read but it's a pretty bad sign when the Ex-girlfriend is in the book more than the heroine. If I never hear the name Amber again, it will be too soon.
Suffice it to say, I won't be reading anything else by this author.
This was a two books in one. The first book was Safe. This was Kayla and Shane's story. Kayla is a doctor who works the ER. Her and Shane rush against time to save people from a drug that is killing people and save each other. This book actually had minimal referral to actual MC. It also has quite a bit grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes. On its own I would rate this book at a three. The second book is Havoc. This is Julian and Daniela's story. She is a driver for her MC and is kidnapped by Julian and his MC until she agrees to drive for them. Along the way they fall in love with each other and she has to either give up her loyalties to her club or lose the man she love. This book had punctuation, spelling, and grammar mistakes also, but has a lot more reference to the MC.
Barely 3 stars. The only reason I gave it that was because it was well written. A mediocre story, and not really one about a MC at all. I was actually hoping the main characters wouldn't end up together.
The author changes POV constantly and there isn't a clue given as to the point of view you are reading about. I DNF because I became very bored with the constant change of characters and the repetitions of each scene.
SAFE it was good. But no body is perfect. Could of went more into the MC.!!!!! But it was a good story line. I see off springs of some of the characters
