Andrea Carter is finally pulling her own weight on the Circle C Ranch she loves. The only thing she loves more than helping to run the ranch is spending time racing and stunt-riding on her horse Shasta, with the help of wrangler Riley Prescott. Little does she know that when she and Riley stumble onto a mysterious cut in the fence around her brother's prize calves, life is about to get far more exciting--and dangerous.
A cryptic warning tied around a brick crashes through the window at a family party. Then cattle begin to die. When the horse barn catches fire, Andi knows this is more than just coincidence. But who is trying to hurt her family--and why? Evidence begins to point to criminals from her brother Justin's past who want revenge. But that discovery may be too late to keep Andi and her brother's family out of danger.
Now Riley is her only hope of rescue. Can he find her before she disappears from the Circle C forever? Can she keep everyone else safe until then?
The fourth volume in the Circle C Milestones quartet, Courageous Love is high on action, danger, and drama, and full of appealing characters readers love. Andi's final adventure, sparked with a little romance, is sure to please Marlow's legions of loyal readers who want a happy ending for this frontier heroine.
I...seriously have no words. This was SUCH an amazing book. Like...no words can describe. I had officially crowned "The Last Ride" as my favorite Andi book and then WHAM. This one was fantastic. Wonderful. Marvelous. Fabulous.
To avoid spoilers, let's just say the ending made me wanna cry (HAPPY TEARS) and Ramon is mine. Kay? :P
Btw...how am I supposed to resume normal life after this? *goes to re-read parts of the book*

That ending. Oh, my goodness. I may have not grown up on the original Andi series, but I sure have come to really enjoy reading about Andi (& Riley…). That said, the ending really got to me, so I know those who love this series might just be sobbing happy tears. Sure, there were some parts I wasn’t thrilled with (some mentions of suggestive comments make this series for girls older than the original series’ target market), I did loved all the prayers & Spiritual Content, however. I’m having a hard time, though, thinking this is the last book! I would so love a spin-off this spin-off series and to see what will happen to this family next. ;)

I wasn't sure if I would really like this book or not. I mean I knew some things that happened already, but I was still hesitant. It turned out to be very well done! (3.5 stars) Instead of the "situation" sounding like it was added just because there needed to be some excitement, it sounded real. Andi has grown up and actually thinks before she acts! Well, at least more often than before. There was a touch of romance, but only what sounded like real life without focusing on the sensual of touch, smell, etc. It was sweet. All in all, I thought this was a lovely story to end this series on. It left me satisfied and glad I read it.
(Reviewed by Jenna) First, the disclaimer. "I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own." That done, COURAGEOUS LOVE is an awesome books. It is very thrilling. I was actually waiting for Riley and Andi to fall in love. I've been expecting it ever since the earlier series came out. They were best friends as kids and everything.
It was a really good book. I love how she always gets into scrapes and someone has to get her out and she always learns something from her mistakes.

My Review:
So here we are at the Circle C Ranch once again! It will be a very exciting time for me because this is the last in the series. Happy to see whats going on with the characters and how it will leave us BUT sad to see such a great story come to an end.
Poor Andi, she has had a go of it and this final installment is no different. Andi has to overcome several happenings and she has to get down to the bottom of it before someone gets hurt. Such good lessons that are taught by the author in this series. This series is for young girls but I have to be honest, I liked reading them too.
A great series that will tug at your heart strings and shows a strong family support for the Carter family! The Carters are a ranching family with good, strong morals that will make you want to be better, Great series!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.
This is the fourth and final book in the Circle C Milestones series. I have enjoyed these historical novels for young teens. While many of the characters return from previous novels, their prior impact on Andi is clearly explained. This novel could be read on its own but would be enjoyed more if read after the previous ones.
It is 1885 in the San Joaquin Valley, California. Andi's father had been killed in a riding accident and the farm was now managed by her brother. In between learning riding tricks, Andi helps in the farm operation. Riley, a young man being groomed for a foreman job, is Andi's riding instructor and, well, perhaps more than her friend. It soon becomes evident someone wants to harm the Carter family. An escaped prisoner is out for revenge and Andi's life is in danger.
It has been fun watching Andi grow up. While she is more mature in this novel, she still has an adventurous spirit that gets her into serious situations. There is a budding romance in this story, a fitting end to the series.
There is a good deal of adventure and suspense in this novel. The material is suitable for older pre-teens and young teens. Being interested in horses (and dogs) would be a plus. The Carters are Christians and faith is an important aspect of their lives. Family loyalty and other Christian values are clearly portrayed. The author provides a study guide for discussion or classroom use at http://www.circlecmilestones.com/ where you can also find out more about the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Courageous Love is the fourth book from Susan K Marlow's Young Adult series, Circle C Milestones. It is spring 1885 in San Joaquin Valley, California and Andrea "Andi" Carter is enjoying life. She enjoys helping on her family ranch, Circle C, racing and stunt riding her horse, Shasta, with the help of her lifelong friend and wrangler, Riley Prescott. Andi and Riley finds a cut in a fence where her brother's calves are held, not knowing things are about to get interesting and even dangerous.
At a family party, a brick is thrown through a window with a note attached warning to the family. This is followed by a fire and other danger ahead for Andi and though she loves. Who will come to her rescue before it is too late?
Courageous Love is targeted for the young adult audience, but that does not mean a middle-age reader, like me, would not enjoy it. Which I did! The action, adventure, and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not help to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. I have been following Andi from the start and she still manages to make me giggle with her antics. The ending has quite a surprise I did not see coming at all! I loved it!
5 plus stars
I received this book from the author but was not required to write a review. This review is of my own honest opinion.
I have honestly looked forward to this new book from Susan Marlow the entire year! It is so delightful to look forward to an author's new works as they are published! I should have recorded a video of two of my friends' reactions when I showed them my copy of this new book. The excitement was enough to advertise how beloved these books are to us! During the same week, I also had sisters in my household begging to read my copy. We also had to have a pact not to tell eachother how the book ended for fear of spoiling the surprise for the other readers! As I have said in my previous reviews of this author's books, she is an unusually excellent writer! The Andrea Carter series has the quality of the beloved Little House series. Mrs. Marlow is one of the best Christian authors I know of. To add more value to that statement, I have read and reviewed a variety of Christian historical fiction and novels for adults as well as children. I love Susan Marlow's style of writing and the thought she puts into each of her books. I am always interested through every chapter of every book she produces. Although I'm an adult I looked forward to the free time I would have on the weekends to read the next chapters of Courageous Love! In this final book in the series, Andrea Carter is the same girl we have watched grow up through the books. Of course, at age seventeen she is becoming a woman and must deal with different issues than the previous books. I will not give away any of the story but I loved, absolutely loved Andrea Carter grown-up! I am impressed by how the author was able to continue Andi Carter's adventurous and impulsive spirit while allowing her to becoming a lovely young woman. I didn't want this story to end. Needless to say, I am likewise saddened that this is the last book in the series! I definitely hope the author will continue to write such wonderful historical fiction!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
I think out of the four Circle C Milestones books, Courageous Love is my new favorite. It was a wonderful last adventure for Andi!
I received this book in the mail Wednesday evening, and managed to read half of it before drifting off to sleep. As soon as I woke up the next morning, I picked it right back up and finished it in less than two hours. It was definitely a page turner!
Andi and Riley's relationship was so sweet, although predictable. I have to admit, I felt awful for poor Cory, but in the end I know Andi made the right decision. ;)
I personally would have also preferred a more detailed reunion between Andi and her brothers when she and Riley made it to the posse's camp. I felt as if it was just tossed in there to set up for Riley's announcement. After several weeks away after being kidnapped, I think Chad would likely do more to welcome Andi than "ruffle her hair", and she seemed distant from Justin throughout the whole book.
There was also a piece of a conversation at one point that I felt was a little unnecessary.
The plot twist was an interesting one, to say the least! I had my suspicions, but it was still surprising how everything went down!
I totally grinned/cringed at the first-kiss scene, and laughed at Riley's later comment about it.
And of course, I want an overly-detailed version of the very last chapter (haha), but I didn't feel like the book ended abruptly.
All-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and must say that I am disappointed that Andi's Milestone adventures have come to an end. I will be rereading this series for a long time to come! Thank you, Mrs. M, for another thrilling Andi adventure!
4.5 stars from me :)

I always enjoy a good historical fiction read! My homeschool teacher "mentor" first got me hooked on this genre during our schooling years. What a great way to learn about a specific time period through the characters in a book. Courageous Love was no different! Seeing through the eyes of Andi and her family made me realize how much work life was in the late 1880s - no corner store, automobiles, or cell phones! Yet, the family not only worked hard, but played (and celebrated) hard, too! Add in the mystery surrounding the family and you have a wonderful read!
I enjoyed the story and the characters. Although this is the fourth book in the series, I was able to pick up with the story and "know" the characters well. Kudos!
I received a complimentary book from Kregel Publications for my honest review.
"Courageous Love" is the 4th book in the Circle C Milestones series. This book is SO good!!! It is now my favorite book in the Circle C Milestones series. I just enjoy these books so much! It is so fun reading about Andi and all of her adventures. "Courageous Love" is a book full of adventure, suspense, and trusting in God! This is definitely a must read!!!! :)
Audiobook: I enjoyed this book as much as the others in this series. I thought this was one of the most dangerous situations yet as the family and their holdings were under attack by an unknown enemy. My attention was glued to the story as I waited with bated breath as the tale unfolded. I felt for Andi and her family as they worked to solve the mystery as to whom the culprit was. I thought Annette Romano's narration was riveting as her performance was skillful. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
Such a touching read. I loved this series so much, I can’t even put my enjoyment of these books into words. “Courageous Love” was the most suspenseful, gut-wrenching, emotional, joy-filling book in the Circle C Milestone series. It was also probably my favourite, between the character development, and the breathtaking plot, I had a hard time putting it down. Susan K Marlow has such a talent for writing. Through these books, I have grown to truly love these characters, to the point where they all feel like a long-lost family. Luckily I can always revisit them anytime, all I have to do is go to my shelf and open the books.
Just when you thought the drama was over…. Join Andi as she learns what it’s like to find love and trust in the middle of nowhere. Will her family survive the onslaught that’s about to come? And will she find true love along the way?
This book is one of my absolute favorites. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages. The first time I read it, I read it all in one day.
Courageous Love An Andrea Carter Book #4 By Susan K. Marlow
Andi (Andrea) Carter has finally grown-up, but she has a way of finding herself still getting into trouble with her not quite lady-like behavior. But when one could be out stunt riding on Shasta or helping out on the Circle C why should she bother herself with lady-like concerns? And learning stunt riding tricks with Riley is certainly better than spending her days filling a hope chest with her needlework.
But when a someone starts targeting the Carter family and the Circle C Andi is determined to help protect her family and her home. But who could hate the Carters enough to do all this? The answer will prove just how great their danger is. And unfortunately, Andi is about to come face-to-face with a man who is willing to go to any lengths to make her family experience his pain and more.
With her life on the line, Andi's only hope lies with Riley and God. But when all appears hopeless can Andi continue to trust that Riley will be able to find her?
This is another exciting addition to the world of Andi Carter. Andi is a delight to get to know even if she has an occasional issue with her impatience and her temper. But Andi is exactly the type of friend you'd want at your side when you're in need. This is historical fiction that is geared toward the YA audience but anyone from age 12 and up would be sure to enjoy this book. And for those who want a little touch of romance - Andi just may have a little come into her life. Those who are searching for clean YA for their daughters and granddaughters will appreciate this book and this series.
I was provided a review copy of this book by the publisher Kregel with no expectation of a positive review ~ all expressed opinions are my own.
A very good read, but, unfortunately, frustrating. Courageous Love once again finds the Carter family in terrible trouble, and while the first half of the book is quite unique in problems and solutions, the latter half is irritatating, putting elements in motion that have been utilized over and over in this series. Other that that, it was a nice, solid read. Simple, relatively uncomplicated, and yet still interesting.
MY THOUGHTS Andrea Carter is working on the Circle C Ranch and spends time racing and doing stunts on her horse. Her life is going great until when riding the fence line with Riley who is a wrangler, they find that the fence has been cut. Who did this and why? Life gets more interesting and possibly dangerous for Andrea when she is at a party with family and friends and a rock is thrown through the window. After that the ranch's cattle begin to die mysteriously. That's not all, the barn that houses the horses burns down. Someone is out to destroy her family and she must find out who and why. Everything is pointing to some people that her brother, Justin knew in his past. What went on that would cause them to want to get even? The author gives us plenty of suspense and questions. You're given characters that you want to get to know and are interesting and engaging. At the end the author leaves you wanting more. If you like lots of action, danger, suspense and adventure then you'll enjoy this one.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Kregel Blog Tours and voluntarily decided to review it.
`Courageous Love` is a young adult, historical fiction book written by author Susan K. Marlow. I like the opening quote by John Wayne - America's Cowboy. `Courage is being scared to death...but saddling up anyway!`
It's a bit mystery and gripping suspense with a tad of romance. Who cut the barbed wire fence, and why? Who set the horse barn on fire, and who is killing the cattle? This intriguing story will keep you reading to the end to ensure the safety of the Carter family.
I don't read much young adult books because of the language used in a lot of them. I was intrigued by the title of this book and was pleased to find it was a clean read. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a clean young adult book.
Disclaimer: "I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own."
Andrea Carter, seventeen, was allowed to work on the family ranch and she loved that almost as much as learning stunt riding from Riley, a young ranch foreman. But Riley’s horse bucked during a new stunt and she slid off, right onto her face. Her scratched, swollen face would not have mattered that much except it was the day of her brother’s engagement party and once again she would be the talk of the town. However, by the end of the party the town had something a whole lot more exciting to think about, a brick crashing through one of the parlor windows. ... Andrea is growing up in this book. She is no longer the somewhat spoiled girl who means well but gets herself into trouble by her rashness. Now she is truly a heroine, battling her own impulses as well as dangerous criminals. In this book she learns about faith, love, and the value of knowing how to shoot straight. ... You can read the entire review on my blog: http://anniekateshomeschoolreviews.co...
This book twisted my heart in so many ways I feel like I have watched Andi grow up and now....!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! *sniffles* 5 stars out of 5 (Longer review coming soon)
I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways and have chosen to give my honest opinion about it. It was a bit bland for my liking, the problems did not seem as pressing, it was kind of melodramatic. The characters were alright, but it could have honestly been a better book. Perhaps a different setting or more pressing storyline?
