A DARK, ENCHANTING TALE OF LOVE AND MAGIC IN VICTORIAN ENGLAND.

Brighid Legend has been on the run for over a year, hunted by the people who murdered her mother. Born a Druid with the power to control the elements, Brighid knows her pursuers will never stop until she is under their control. To escape detection, she struggles to hide her powers and finds safety in a small, out-of-the-way village. But after a series of mysterious accidents, she fears something sinister has invaded her new home. While she searches for the source of the trouble, suspicion falls on her, and Brighid flees, only steps ahead of the villagers seeking vengeance.

Wyatt Graystone, Earl of Castelline, retires when the life-and-death clandestine investigations he did for the Crown becomes more tedious than adventurous. Something vital is missing from his life. The last place he expects to find the missing spark is in a woman he literally leaps through fire to rescue from being burned at the stake. But the danger is far from over. To his frustration, the infernal woman adamantly refuses his assistance, pushing him away at every turn, when his only desire is to claim her for his own.

But someone has targeted Brighid for a reason. As the threats to her life intensify, Wyatt is determined to uncover her secrets and do whatever it takes to ensure she survives. When their pasts come back to haunt them, they must overcome their worst fears or risk losing everything. Saving her life is the biggest battle he's ever faced...and the only one that has ever mattered.

I'm generally a Stacey Brother fan but this didn't do it for me. It felt like a basic historical romance, all a bit swooney with the typical handsome lord of the manor and the damsel in distress. Throw in some magic/witch inquisition stuff and you have it in a nutshell.

Pretty good

Funny, but not the best book of hers that I’ve ever read. Needs some fine tuning, and it could be great.

Druid Surrender by Stacey Brutger is an excellent book! It is well-written with a creative storyline and interesting well-drawn characters. It includes all the right ingredients for a very entertaining read -- romance, suspense, mystery and magic.

Brighid Legend is desperately trying to evade the people who murdered her mother and burned the school she attended with others like her. She is a Druid and though she has yet to master her gift, she can control the elements of water, fire, wind and earth. In an attempt to hide from the people wanting to control her, she takes work at a factory in a small village, only to be accused of being a witch and almost burned at the stake because of several accidents and a death. She is barely rescued in time by the owner, Wyatt Greystone, Earl of Castelline. Wyatt knows he must find out who is trying to instigate his ruin should the factory be forced to close and begins an investigation to save his factory, the employees, and the beautiful woman who has captured his heart.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more. I'd definitely recommend this book. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love paranormal romances so it really appealed to me. I really enjoyed the story. It is a good mix of romance and action. You have a woman on the run from danger and a man determined to keep her safe. I really enjoy strong characters like Brighid and Wyatt. They are fighters and determined to protect those they care about. I liked the surprises which kept the story fresh and interesting.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
