I got this book for nothing when I sent in request to receive information about the Certified Legal Nurse Consulting program from the Vickie Milazzo Institute a while back. Vickie is the author, and is the nurse who created and runs the CLNC program. I ended up enjoying the book so much that I've ordered her next book, Wicked Success is Inside Every Woman for the bargain price of $12.97 with free shipping. I figure it's an even bigger bargain for me since I enjoyed her first book (written about five years ago) for free. It really didn't include many ideas that were new to me, but I appreciated the manner in which she presented the information. It's easy to believe that she is a very successful teacher since I found her writings so motivating. There are also many great quotes scattered throughout the book, which I also like. One that I've found to be especially true lately is this, "The more you'll do, the more you'll do!" on page 71...only for me I discovered this in reverse (the less I do, the less I want to do!). Also, Vickie says that "Many women I mentor won't 'go for it' because of their fears," and that "Most of us stay in the safe cabin of everyday life," both on page 6. Okay, so once I realized that Vickie had my number, I was hooked. After she makes these observations she is ready with a plan to help us "go for it", whatever "it" is for you in the form of "5 Promises". She includes some stories from real women's lives and how they achieved their goals. I recommend this book. Let me end this with one of those quotes that I mentioned above that is in the book: "If [women] understood and exercised their power they could remake the world."~Emily Taft Douglas. Here's one more: "Do something every day that scares you."~Eleanor Roosevelt.

Perempuan memang makhluk yang kuat sampai2 Allah mengamanahkan rahimnya utk mjd pintu gerbang peradaban. namun, kekuatan itu sebenarnya berbeda2 tiap individu perempuan karena manusia memang diciptakan unik. Seperti layaknya buku2 motivasi lain, buku Vickie Milazzo ini ditulis dengan bahas yang bersemangat disertai pengalaman2 penulis ataupun perempuan2 lain. Walaupun isinya agak mengambang, buku tetap cukup layak utk dibaca.

I read half this book before deciding to just put it down. I'm at a place in life where I really wanted to embrace some inspiring ideas and use the information I expected in the pages, but in truth I grew tired of the parables the author developed from her globe trotting, which I can't relate to. I diligently thought through the concepts presented and started to realize some of them are downright contradictory. Disappointing.
