For most couples, inviting someone into their bedroom is totally out of the question. Any normal woman would flip if her man even thought about trying a threesome with another woman. Jasmine is that woman, and more. It's not until her husband James pressures her into having a threesome that their once happy lives get turned into nothing but drama.
Anna J. started writing as a child, creating short stories in her creative writing classes. This later turned into writing poetry in high school. In her early twenties she entered a short story contest, and her first work of fiction "Stories To Excite You: Menage Quad" was published. Always an avid reader, Anna J. saw a void in the industry. The types of books she wanted to read hadn't been written yet. With that in mind, she penned her first book "My Woman His Wife", published in 2004, which quickly became an Essence Magazine best seller. Anna J went on to pen 12 novels. She also participated in 9 short story compilations, and self-published 9 works of fiction. Anna J. Is currently at work on future releases.
I thought My Woman His Wife was a drama filled, exciting read! Monica is downright crazy & dangerous. This page turner had a great storyline that made it impossible to put down until the end! I am highly anticipating the next part will continue with the madness!
Let me start off by saying Monica was a trip! She had me fooled at the beginning. James and Jasmine need to work on their marriage but James is dead wrong with a capital D. He thought with the wrong head this entire book.
I listened to this story on audible. I have to say I was a little confused at the primary characters, Monica, motivations for doing the things she did to those she encountered. There were slight references to things that may have happened in her past, but it doesn't explain the plot. There was a lot of sex and underhanded planning and then more sex. Monica and her "magical" yoni wreaked havoc in many lives and caused a few deaths but I still don't know who she is. The audio production was done well. The narrator did a good job. Although, I'm not a fan of narrators singing in audiobooks. I fast-forwarded through those moments. Hopefully, some clarity will be provided in book two.
I finished this book in literally ONE DAY! It was a page turner from page one. The cover had me confused b/c I thought it was a man telling his story of sleeping with another man's wife. NO! There are two women on the cover for a reason;) The scenes are off the hook and the characters are believable. It ends with a scene where someone finally gets busted and I went out the very same day I finished it to get the sequel, The Aftermath. I have passed this book all throughout the office and I would recommend it to ANYONE!
This year, I’m making a conscious effort to tackle the books already on my shelves, and last night, I wrapped up this one. Let me tell you—these characters (every single one of them) drove me absolutely up the wall. It was nonstop chaos, an unhinged individual at the center of it all, and let’s just say there was a lot of bedroom hanky panky (using that term so Meta doesn’t come for me).
And don’t even get me started on the so-called “epilogue.” It wasn’t an epilogue—it was just an extended last chapter! To me, an epilogue is a glimpse months or years down the road. Not you telling me that the person left the house looked in the window at the others left in the house and drove down the road.
There are two more books in this series, and I’m stuck in that weird place where I want to read them… but I also really don’t 😂😂.
Has anyone else read this series? Let’s talk about it!
OMGOSH CRAZY!!! Drama and stupidity always ends in trouble!!! Sheila needs a backbone too!! She should have told it all to save herself. They all need to learn the power of NO!!! Monica was given way too much power!!! The narrator was alright, but she made several mistakes while reading. She can sing though!! On to the second part, can't wait to see how it all ends!! SN....Am I the only one who thought how dumb these characters were??!!
Why. Did. I. Read. This. Trash? Poorly written and, stupid, terrible characters who contradict themselves at every paragraph. I bust out laughing during the scene when "the ambulance walked in" LOL. This was written by the author and her high school friends in a marble composition notebook, prove me wrong. It had to be. The real villains are whoever signed off on this and put this on shelves to waste people's time. I guess just like bad movies, bad books will also have an audience. I'm not surprised the publishing company doesnt even exist anymore. This was just God awful. I wish I could DNF books I start, but I have a thing about finishing no matter what. This one hurt my brain and actually made me mad. Just awful, with every hood drama trope you can think of.
Read this book back in the day. Wasn't giving what it gave back then for me. I listened this time (I'm busy). The narrator stumbled A LOT, which annoyed me. I didn't like how the 1st 25% or so and the last chapter before the epilogue was in 1st person POV from Jasmines perspective, then the rest were all in 3rd person from all of the characters perspectives. It just felt disorganized. The storyline was great of course. I read the 2nd part, which I'm about to read again. Never read part 3. It definitely wasn’t bad though.

This book seemed like nothing but porn. Up until about the last 5 or 6 chapters, they weren't really talking about anything but sex, but I guess that's why there is a sequel. I have started the sequel "The Aftermath" and based on "My Woman His Wife" I am hoping the girl dies. I have never felt that way about a character before, but she is seriously a triflin female.

I went to the library and had book 3 so I had to go back in read book 1 I tell you this book was amazing to be understatement I am currently on book too and hopefully we'll have book 3 done by the end of next week
It was just ok. Some of the situations are unreal especially for real life law professionals. I listened to the audiobook and the reader could have been better too.
A pretty wild ride. You have three main characters - James who is married to his wife Jasmine and his side chick Monica. Monica is invited into their life for one night only to create excitement, but becomes a permanent fixture by still carrying on with Jasmine and James afterwards. Both are still seeing Monica on the sly. Monica is in love with Jasmine, and when James is experiencing being unhappy in his marriage, he seeks Monica out.
Monica is crazy. She does her best to insert herself into their lives. She even goes as far as to try to get pregnant by James. She feels Jasmine will leave James and run to her if she finds out. She does even more absurd things like involving Jasmine's secretary Sheila into a threesome with James.
As I listened to this story on audio, I wondered what was Monica's thinking when she did some of these things. Is she trying to win Jasmine over or is she trying to make Jasmine hate her. I say this because no one in their right mind would want to be with someone who purposely hurts them like this. Monica showed the signs of being a couple sandwiches short of a picnic.
There were also side stories that were carried out where Monica sets up Ricco (a very sought after criminal) to get caught so she can get her prior lover out of jail. Monica was also juiced in with law enforcement after sleeping with many of them, and their wives. She was untouchable.
The story was drama filled. But there was one thing that got to me. While I am aware it was erotica, the characters appeared to be uncharacteristically over sexed. They can get their orgasm a couple times in a session and still be ready for more, even having sex with someone else later that night. It was the one thing that appeared to be a little much and unbelievable.
Overall, it was an entertaining read (or listen). I enjoyed the drama and all of the side stories that made up this story. 3 stars.
I've had this book for some time now and finally read it. I liked My Little Secret by Anna J., so I thought I'd like this one, too. I was wrong.
I didn't like that Monica and James essentially coerced/forced Jasmine into doing something that she didn't want to in the beginning. I knew that it had to be more to it and of course Monica and James had started an affair together first. Monica reassured Jasmine during the threesome that condoms would be used for everything, but I don't recall her using condoms on the sex toys or using dental dams for oral sex.
I understand that Monica was a sex worker of sorts. Or rather she used sex to blackmail people. I think she had way too many sexual partners—Jasmine, James, Sheila; the mayor, and his wife and oldest daughter; a police officer, a judge, and more—to not use dental dams/condoms during oral sex. I know that this is fiction and folks have a hard time making safe sex sound and look sexy, and it's often unheard of to practice safe oral sex, but Anna J. could have tried harder. After a while I became disgusted when Monica had sex with someone.
Monica was a crazy, nasty individual. The plot was so unrealistic. There's no way that Monica could get away with all of that just because her p***y is good. James, Jasmine, and Sheila really could have banded together against Monica. Just saying.
Other issues: Poorly written, grammatical errors, inconsistencies within the text, repetitive phrases on the same or next page, point of view kept awkwardly changing.
Plot was only somewhat decent and it got worst in the chapter labeled "What I Wouldn't Do For You" and beyond. Became riddled with clichéd plot points or "hood drama tropes" as another reviewer wrote. At some point, I was just annoyed to keep reading, but I was already deep into the book/close to finishing. And Jasmine just pretends like she wasn't sleeping with Monica too when she caught the rest of them at the end.

Audiobook Read: Talk about secrets and sex! There were so many people wrapped in Monica’s web that it was uncanny. The story was enjoyable but felt the deception had gotten too far out of control. It was as if nobody had good sense enough to stop even when given the opportunity to do so. Admittedly, it probably would’ve been better if not for the way it was narrated. There was no distinction between female characters, and other than anger, there was no emotion, and it was read at too great of a fast pace to really immerse into it. We’ll see what part two brings to this twisted web of sexual lies!
Fell asleep while.listening to this option from audible plus catalogue. ..so will not rate.Thin storyline connected by mutual.disingenuous behavior, attitudes, activity .Characters battled for focus, polyamory vs cheat fest with follow up fertility extravaganza. I did miss much of the story, even still motivations and crux of storyline confusing if not questionable.Remarks apply to both book one and two...

Woah. Extremely graphic and explicit---but EXTREMELY dramatic! Drama, drama, DRAMA!!! This book is part mental and sexual roller coaster, and part cautionary tale. There is no way to describe any specifics without giving spoilers away, and that would be doing a disservice to the reader. I've already ordered the sequel, because I have to know what's next!!!
Be careful what you ask for!! Never introduce a third party to your happy home. James was greedy. Monica clearly has mental issues. All of the men Monica blackmailed and manipulated was crazy. I didn’t understand why Rico did what he did. That confused me. Monica needs to pay for her action. Poor Jasmine.
