Some of these stories seem to be indeed darker than what I normally read. But I can still appreciate a well-told story, and there were quite a few of those! Below are samples of two of the stories I focused on in this collection.

>>> Reviewing “Out of the Box” by Kallysten
This was the story of Virginia who tried out a new vampire-friendly club she had been curious about. She begins to tell of her previous evening adventure when she met “him”. Anando took her home and asked if she wanted to play a game. He directed her to his white chest where she could explore the contents.

There was no pressure from Anando and the description of Virginia’s thoughts and actions were very well written. But this kind of thing is not for me and I was unable to finish the story. If you are comfortable with this, I could tell immediately that the story would be a good read and I would recommend it on that basis.

>>> Reviewing “Savage Surrender” by Ellis Leigh
Bez was a member of a 7-member team, a special elite warrior breed called the Dire Wolves, thought by some to be extinct. They were brought in by the President of the National Association of the Lycan Brotherhood when the best of the best could not fulfill a mission. They submitted to no one.

Bez was called to the President’s chambers to be informed that another rare Omega female had been kidnapped. It was a serious situation, especially because she was only 15. They finally had a lead on one of the attackers, and the frightening news that a monster was with them – sounding like it could be a mindless, dangerous werewolf and not just another enemy shifter. Following the slim lead, Bez began to track the Omega, not realizing there were actually two now.

Omega Sariel is captive in a houseboat located in a swamp. She had been there already for more than a month. Her sadistic captors dumped another captive in the room, an unconscious young girl named Angelita. It took 3 days before the girl could talk about the attack on her murdered family. Sariel tried to give encouragement and hope to Angelita, while remaining truthful and realistic, but they were in a serious predicament.

I really enjoyed this book! Bez is tough alpha type that keeps your attention. He never failed a mission, and it was easy to see why that was true. The author’s descriptions made you feel like you were right there, experiencing everything each character saw and felt. It was exhilarating and I definitely intend to check out the other Dire Wolves books. Their closeness and loyalty reached out to me. I bought the rest of the series because this one was so excellent!

Mmmm It's Hard To Choose

Received this book for an honest review from several authors.

Man-o-man this collection of books is a read that should appeal to lovers of paranormal hotness.

The story "Out of the Box" by Kallysten is about a woman named Virginia who decides to try something different in her social life. Enter a vampire to teach about giving up "control." Anando is a vampire in a class all his own and he receives something he was not expecting in Virginia. This story will appeal to the adventurous woman or the curious one.

If you like Dire Wolves, read Ellis Leigh's Savage Surrender and you will get a whole lot of wolf in the character Bez and his seven member team. He is the ultimate protector. If you like your men willing to fight for what is right then this book is for you.

Now if you want mythological creatures like the Furies then check out "Furies Kiss" by Nicola White. Who new that almost getting raped would bring out the "Fury" in a girl. Unbeknownst to Tara an unknown entity had been slumbering inside of her waiting to be woken to battle an unknown evil. This story is serious but can make you laugh at some of the antics of the characters.

If you are looking for a little mystery in your story then you cannot go wrong with "Shifter P.I." by Bonnie Dee. She mixes a wolf shifter detective with a snarky secretary who believes she has what it take to investigate and boy do they end up on opposite sides in a case.

In the story "Proctector" the cast of characters range from a vampire, witch, an independent paladin demon hunter, ex-Guides, dijin and a college teacher You can go wrong with this story if you like a superhero,

There are no bad stories in this bundle as I have only listed a few above. Every story in this bundle was a great read regardless of your genre choice.

I really enjoyed this set. The stories are a little more intense than other similar paranormal sets. I discovered some new authors and will definitely be checking out their other books.

Out of the Box by Kallysten is an excellent read. It is the story of a woman that does not want romance. She goes to a club that caters to vampires to have a new experience and gets so much more. I really enjoyed seeing her explore different aspects of her sexuality and push the limits. The characters are very well developed and I became very invested in the story. I really liked that while most of the story is from her POV at the end we get his POV as well and really get to understand his perspective. I would love to read more about these characters.

Waiting for Darkness by Fionn Jameson left me wanting much more. I loved the main character. She has a complicated past and the present is getting more complicated every day. She just fascinated me and the men her life are just as intriguing. I want to read more about her and see where it all goes.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

What a collection of stories! You have vampires, shifters and other paranormal creatures. Each author has their own writing style and every one is amazing. I really loved the vampire and shifter stories. I had not read books by most of these authors so it is a treat to discover them. I would recommend reading this book to anyone, even if you have never read these types of stories before. It is a wonderful introduction to the paranormal world. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hot,steamy, corporeally challenged, fanged or furry alpha males who set out to either find their perfect mates or run from them. The females either up for the challenge or running as far and fast as they can in the opposite direction. Savage Surrender by Ellis Leigh and My Scarlet Woman by Shelley Munro were 2 of the best; 5

Reviewing Out of the Box for Kallysten.

This was an exciting and fun story. Worth the read and I recommend it. It is a little different. That is what makes it interesting to read. It fit in nicely with the rest of the stories. I was given an ARC of these stories from Kallysten to review for her story.

Out of the Box, by Kallysten

I was able to read one of the stories in the set "Out of the Box" Wow is all I could say. I couldn't put it down, it wasn't corny like a lot of the vampire/human romance stories, it was so sensual you could almost feel the emotions. Wow very sexy.

I realize this is a long review and most will not have the patience to read all of it, so let me make it simple. For just 99 cents, it's pretty hard to go wrong. So, if you want more detail about each story, read on. If not, just buy the collection. It's worth it.

Code Black - Tina Moss
4 stars
This book was surprisingly long, considering it was part of a compilation. The characters were complex and the plot was compelling. The author took the time to weave in multiple storylines and character relationships. Overall, it was very well done. The story has an actual ending, but also has a hook leading to the next story in the series.

I had two problems with this story. The first problem was that Talon seemed to have an awful lot of trouble controlling himself and his emotions. It seemed like he was always on the verge of shifting and losing control. Also, during a scene in which they were basically fighting for survival, he and Sera end up in an embrace which causes them to lose sight of everything going on around them. Really?!? Logically, they both should have been killed at that point. It made no sense.

My other problem was the misuse of homophones. I noticed repeated instances of "passed" used when it should have been "past." And at one point, the author used the word "hurdled" When she should have used "hurtled." There were some minor proofreading errors which I was willing to overlook, but misusing words really bothers me.

Savage Surrender - Ellis Leigh
4 stars
This book was about the length I'd expect in a compilation. It was a full story, no cliff-hanger, with a clear promise of more to come. The characters were well-developed, the writing was easy to follow, and the plot was fast-paced and intriguing. Overall, I'd say it was very well done.

Protector - Vivian Lane
1 star
Something has to be really poorly written for me to stop reading it. I made it to the third chapter before I was ready to throw my Kindle across the room. I think the worst thing about the writing was trying to figure out the POV. Initially it was first person, Carys. Then it was William and his chapter kept switching between first and third! By the time I got to the part where Carys confides in her new friend, I couldn't take anymore. It was the most stilted, unrealistic dialog I've read in a long time. In fact, I was reminded of my own efforts to write fiction when I was about 12 years old - though I had the good sense to keep it to myself! I wish this author had done the same.

Out of the Box - Kallysten
5++ stars
Kallysten never fails to deliver. In this instance, she managed to infuse this story with so much emotion, there were tears running down my face as I read it. What makes this astounding to me is that this story seemed to be mostly about sex and pushing boundaries. I've read stories that seem to be craftily constructed containers for sex scenes. This one may have been just the opposite. It was a bittersweet unexpected love story wrapped in sex. What a wonderful surprise! I think this might even be my favorite Kallysten story to date.

Waiting for Darkness - Fionn Jameson
4 stars
I really liked this, until the end: "To be continued...." Aside from the fact that I consider this an amateurish way to end a story, I absolutely hate cliff-hangers! In fact, I hate them even more as part of a compilation because there is no warning, and since you are reading a compilation of books, you can't exactly switch over to a conclusion of that story and still give a timely review of the compilation. If your writing and story-telling abilities are good, you don't need a cliff-hanger to compel readers to read more of your work. Left hanging abruptly and without a conclusion, readers don't know if they can trust the author. That's what I need to figure out while deciding whether to read more from Fionn Jameson.

So, I've given this story 4 stars despite my feelings on cliff-hangers. It could have earned 5; I enjoyed it that much - until I didn't. I think what I liked most was the voice of Tanith, a vampire with a sense of humor, especially when she said things like this:

"I sort of wanted to go to the nearest church I could find and confess my sins to the father there. Two things stopped me: the nearest church was over twenty minutes away by car, and if I ever stepped foot over the threshold of a holy building, I was bound to come away with some serious physical damage." I chuckled when she equated a minimum twenty minute drive to serious physical damage, as if they were equal deterrents. I still have many questions about Tanith, and about the other characters in this book; I'm not sure I'll be reading more.

My Scarlet Woman - Shelley Munro
5 stars
I wasn't sure when I started this, whether I'd like out our not. Something about it stuck me as trite. But the more I read it, the more I came to understand and relate to the characters. This is a typical romance where the biggest challenge for Saber and Emily is the fear of being hurt. There are no sinister villains or dark forces at work. If you're looking for a fun HEA, this is the book for you.

Fury's Kiss - Nicola R. White
4 stars
This book was pretty good - not my favorite, but definitely not the worst. I was unfamiliar with the Greek legend of The Furies, so I found that very interesting. The chemistry between Tara and Jackson was undeniable, though he tried desperately to deny it.

Perhaps partly because of my unfamiliarity with the legend, I found the plot to be full of surprises. It was often tense and always kept me guessing. I think the inclusion of this book in the compilation was a good choice and I recommend it.

Shifter, P.I. - Bonnie Dee
4 stars
Told from dual POV’s, this story was fun to read and easy to follow. I liked both main characters, Rick and Amy, and was rooting for them to overcome their fears and take a chance together.

Despite some gruesome events in the book, the author managed to describe these scenes in a non-gratuitous manner. There were children peripherally involved, but there was no elaboration on anything that might have occurred with them. I think, considering the content and the potential for some truly disturbing images, the author showed a great deal of restraint. For this, I am very thankful!

Code Black - Exciting but a little hard to follow at first. Once everything started clicking into place it all made more sense. One thing I would have liked to know...is Sera Talon's fated mate? He eluded to it once but it was never confirmed. I gave this story 3 stars.
Savage Surrender - I loved this story! Bez and Sariel burn up the pages from the first time they meet. Their story is exciting, scary, nail-biting and sexy. A real page turner. I'd definitely be interested in more from this series. 5 stars!
Protector - I was extremely bored with this story. There's no chemistry between Carys and William. He watches her and she keeps brushing him off. Her life after being infected seems to consist of roaming around at night killing the occasional vampire and boring social visits with her friends. *yawn*. 2 stars. I could hardly get thru the story.
Out of The Box - Definitely a sexy story. A little long for what it was. Maybe a few encounters before they realize their feelings for each other. Even though all their encounters were entertaining, I just kind of wanted the story to end. 4 stars.
Waiting For Darkness - What seemed like a funny story at first, with all of Tanith's would be suitors, got serious really quick when her best friend goes missing. I had trouble with Tanith's character. She's always talking about how badass she is, but falls a little short several times. Plus, there's no HEA here folks! To be continued. There's real emotion in the story so I gave it 4 stars.
My Scarlet Woman - Emily is confused about her stuttering feelings for Saber and for obvious reasons is reluctant to move forward in a relationship. Her wishy washy attitude starts too get annoying and the way Saber reveals his shifter seemed abrupt given how nervous he was to tell Emily. 4 stars.
Fury's Kiss - I had read and reviewed this story previously. I really enjoyed it and gave it 5 stars.
Shifter, P.I. - I loved this. Rick and Amy dance around their feelings for a year before Amy's kidnapping by an "other" cult forces them to deal worth them. Other than Rick and Amy thinking about their feelings for each other, there's not much chemistry. Rick even releases some steam with another woman and fantasies about a client. The story is exciting, though with nail- biting scenes and a HEA. 4 stars.
