Received a copy. Who loves a fighter? Get ready because Stryker is coming for you. Lexi Buchanan brings a one two punch with this book. The past, present and for the knockout the future. I gave this book 4.5 stars!
If your looking for a good fight book then this is it. Lexi has given us a book full of twist, turns and surprises. From the very first chapter to the end you see how two people didn't give up and fault for what they believed in. Evie and Styker have a connection like no other and I was kind of glad to see a male character was a virgin for once. I love how Evie was so patient with Styker and how she loved with her whole heart.
Skylar was given to the Irishman for his dad gambling debt as the age of 14. Evie became a senators daughter at 12. When Evie wants to do some research for her new book she talks her fiancé to going to his gym. This where she meets Styker. Styker has someone watching his every move. He just recently started sneaking out to a bar. When Evie shows up at the bar, their connection can't be denied. As these two start falling for each other, Evie starts seeing the light about her fiancé. Can Styker and Evie help each other or will she have to get married to save them both?
Can't wait to see if we get Carter and Mollie story.

Wow! What a great book. In addition to Stryker being a love story, it has suspense with surprising twists and turns. It's also full of fun and sexy characters.
Stryker was traded by his father at the age of fourteen to cover the gambling debts he owed. For the last ten years, they've owned him and made him into the best MMA fighter around. Stryker is focused on his training and lives the only way he can, alone. Then he sees HER at one of his fights. Evie is beautiful and causes Stryker to feel something for the first time towards another person. When she walks into the gym to do research for a book, he can't keep his eyes away. He's been warned that Evie is off limits, but Stryker is drawn to her and wants her badly. Evie is engaged to a man she doesn't love and doesn't want. He's also one of the men in charge of Stryker. From the reaction Evie has to Stryker, she realizes it's time to take her life into her own hands and make a change. Unfortunately, freedom won't be easy.
I fell flippin head over heels in love with Stryker! My heart broke for the boy he was and longed to hold the man he became. His shyness; his reactions to Evie; his loneliness; I seriously just wanted to hug him. And Evie. She's a wonderful female lead. I don't always like the women leads as much as the men but this story has equally great leading characters. Evie is strong on one hand, yet vulnerable on the other because she doesn't want to hurt or disappoint her dad. She was just going with the flow until she met Stryker, and then all of a sudden woke up and decided she wanted some actual happiness. Her best friend Millie was fun and supportive and I liked Carter a lot as well.
Stryker was a really great book told from dual POVs with one of those big smile on your face sweet endings.
For the record, there were no scenes of abuse or details of beatings, etc. Also, I don't think the description of this book does it justice. Not sure who Cora is, and to me, the story was so much more than what the description says.

Oh. My. Days! Where do I begin?......I think I start most reviews for Lexi's books like that!......just when I thinks she couldn't possibly get any better, or change my favourite book of her's......BAM.......she smacks me in the face, figuratively speaking, obviously! See what I did there?! I have made no secret that the Bad Boy Rockers (Phoenix and Jace in particular) and The McKenzies and their cousins.......I LOVE! But this?! I cant tell you how much I FLOVE this author!.......she leaves me lost for words!......however I will try for the sake of this review! Stryker is if I may say, Lexi Buchanan's bezt to date. Yes the characters are there, drawing you in from the very beginning, making you feel everything and believe me I did. Stryker has led an often brutal, lonely existence until he meets, by chance Evie. Oh the feels, from the moment they make eye contact! They both begin to believe they deserve more, they deserve each other. But it was also the suspense that threaded its way through the book, that kept me turning the page and kept me up, wondering what was going to happen next, was everything going to work out for them?!.......... Well you will have to add it to your TBR list and wait until June 28th!

This is my first read from author Buchaanan. I'm a bit disappointed that the author's not par of the kindle unlimited program because I would love to continue to read more of her books.
For the most part this was a fun read. What I have to say the most interesting part is that our leading male was the virgin. It literally made me giggle, I both loved and hated it. After all, this day and age, I tend to find it ridiculous that any lead is a virgin. Especially if the woman are bombshells and now the men are beefcakes.
I mean really, what red blood male turns down willing sex partners. I understand the not wanting to bang the local prostitutes, but it is one of the oldest professions still taking place today.
It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and physical, or signs of spot on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.

Stryker by Lexi Buchanan was a surprising book, very different from the synopsis; it was just so much better than it sounded and held my attention throughout. The characterisations are strong; the criminals involved in turning Jake into an unbeatable fighter are hateful and while the main characters appear to be on shaky ground at times, with the likelihood of everything crushing them, they find the support they need to persevere. There are two epilogues so that we know what the future held for Stryker/Jake and Evie and hopefully there will be a follow-up about the two strongest supporters, Millie & Carter. If you like books with great characters, a strong plot with unexpected revelations, then you will enjoy this book.

I was fortunate to receive a copy from the author and what a read it was!.
Stryker is a very emotional and twisted story, Stryker himself is used and dragged throughout the tale as he punches and fights as only he knows how as a MMA fighter. Until Evie shows up in his gym, she's writing a book about fighters and has persuaded her fiancé to let her do some research in his families gym.
The story that unfolds will have you gasping and the twists and turns are astounding.
Stryker is an amazing character his story just broke my heart, and then put back together again with a terrific conclusion. A wonderful story. 5/5

Ridiculously unrealistic. Heroine is a door mate to an abusive fiance, even though she is the daughter of a Senator. And Stryker? man, he should tell a reporter or the media about his life and the whole shame would end. Its a sweet love story built on a weak premise. And I found the writing was at times infantile and repetitive.

A very enjoyable story, and honestly the synopsis doesn't really do it justice in my opinion.
Although It's really not like any other fighter novel I have read and for that matter Stryker really isn't like any other fighter, he's not cocky, brash, arrogant or even thinks he's gods gift to women. In fact he is quite a vulnerable, shy, lonely and unsure guy. Which I actually liked a lot and it did make for a very refreshing change.
The story itself was sweet, emotional and at times hot and I liked the lead female character Evie. Who created some serious chemistry with Stryker from just a passing glance. Plus Evie's best friend Millie and Stryker's Ally and friend Carter add a but of fun to the story and were both really likable too.
Overall though an enjoyable read and one I would certainly recommend reading to others.

Lexi has done it again…She has captured my heart and swept me away into another amazing romance. I can never get enough of her books.
Stryker is an MMA fighter romance with an interesting twist. It starts out with a shocking revelation that had me hooked from the beginning. Stryker & Evie’s story is one of not only love at first sight, but also forbidden love. I found myself feeling every emotion of both Evie & Stryker and I couldn’t get enough. I love how I had to throw my preconceived expectations of this romance aside because just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, then there would be another twist. It’s the background story that pulls everything together and makes you not be able to put the book down.

I knew I was in for a exciting read when I read the prologue, Stryker was sold by his father to pay off his debts. He was trained to become a fighting machine. However as he grew older he still was unable to flee the life, he was watched all the time and had no life at all. Enter Evie she is the daughter to a Washington Senator and engaged to a man she doesn't love but can't leave as she hates disappointing people especially her family. She has a crazy but liable friend who will do anything for her, so when she decides to follow her her dream of writing a book after her friend persuades her she gets her fiancé to allow her to research fighters in his families gym.
This book is full of twists and things you don't see coming and is by far Lexi ' s best book

Wow!
At first I didn't know how to feel about the book because I was so angry in the beginning from the prologue lol
But slowly as the story unfolded, it became a book that I knew I'd love ..
It had everything really .. Love, loss, hot steamy sex, good times and the worst times but all in all it was just a great dang story ..
I've always loved Lexi Buchanan and her books, so this is no different .. It just goes to show that she's solid in putting out great reads!
I will definitely be recommending this book :)

Stryker comes with a past but when he runs into Evie he feels the need for more, that he deserves more for once and Evie has her own battles but feels the same and that it's with each other, but choices, decesion have to be made , it might not be easy but worth it? I loved it. was drawn in from the start.

This book was a good way to spend a lazy afternoon. Even though some parts dragged out it was still a good story line and well written. Would definitely recommend to anyone who like's fighter books or a good romance. Oh and Stryker is wow! And every women deserves a Stryker in her life. Once you read the book, you will understand.

I enjoyed it. The story line was different but it kept my interest. I read it all in one sitting. These characters were written good. And their interaction with each other is beautiful. I liked it a lot. I would recommend to any suspense romance reader.

I liked getting to know the characters. They were strong characters. I just wish they were more believable. The story seemed a bit far fetched. It was really easy to predict what happened next. It was an entertaining read but I never got emotionally invested in it.
