3 1/4 separate books
This was my first time reading this author. This was a collection of individual short stories. Xav and Cori was the first. Xav was searching for his bride and he knew were to look, on a cruise. He sees Cori, and immediately knows she is the one. Xav is "of the sea" and all kinds of weird happens when him and his people need to marry mate. Like aging. He meets Cori and after purposeful accident, he rescues her and saves her life. Cute, right? Well they immediately make love....the love scene was uncomfortable. I hated the way the story ended, it must stops. Credits roll...lol
The next story is about Zek and Des like Xav, Zek was on the search for his bride. Zek is Xav's brother, who is also "of the sea". Zek s3ems to enjoy to life of the land walkers. He's rich and successful but missing his mate. He hires a PI to find her. Apparently, the requirements for sea people to age is that they must meet thier mates. Whether in passing or for the first time. Zek knows his mates name and knows her secret. When he finally meets Des, he takes a bit to figure it was her. This story was a longer and had lot more sex. This story was almost more about Cori and Xav than Zek and Des. There is a sub plot that tolls through each book. The white witch is gaining power to take over the thrown.
By the 3rd book, the storyline seems way more developed into a full book. We have Xav's best friend and guard to the king, Aaron. Unlike his friends, Aaron has always know who his bride was. Sienna a sea witch. They met when younger and devised a plan to keep thier paring a secret. Sienna and Aaron's story built up hype and so did the storyline. I will say each woman was almost described as the same but I imagined them to be different hues of brown, shapes and sizes. There is a fourth book, I have some pros and cons with this series but since I'm typing on a tablet. I can't get into that. I'm looking forward to the fourth book.
