Rate this book
Violet Montgomery's life is far from average. At twenty-seven, she's semi-retired from her successful acting career and has one divorce under her belt. She traded in early call times for sleeping in and travelling the world. All Violet wants is to enjoy the peace and quiet away from controlling mother and asshole ex, but when the role of a lifetime comes up for grabs she has to have it. Jaxon Garrett is a sexy Aussie surfer that accidentally broke into the acting scene in Hollywood. When his father died two years ago, he decided that going to America was the best way to get away from all the pain. He falls for Violet fast and hard, but his past makes him keep her at arm's distance. He's been burned before and doesn't plan on repeating the same mistakes again. Violet wants to keep her heart safe, but she doesn't know how to protect it and let Jax in. Does she confront her past so she can learn to trust, or will she push him away and forget any chance of a future they might have together?

Violet is an actress and hasn't acted in a long time. But the right role comes around and is selected as the main character. A dream role. Little does she know Jaxon will be playing opposite her and that's when things really start happening for her.

Violet and Jaxon begin this relationship from the start. To me it felt like the book was really rushed, so it could get to all these dramatic parts. I was hoping there would be more of the movie being made. But it was more about Jaxon and Violet and their relationship. There was a dramatic turn, quite often; like it was just thrown in. I did not connect with any of the characters. And honestly was not a fan of Violet. I understood her reservations about being in another relationship, but felt like she was very juvenile.

This story didn't have the impact I'd hoped. Overall, I have to give this book a two. I feel in many ways it could of been better....Lissa

A new author plus a new book, equals a new chance to dream, feel, cry and laugh.
"Relentless" is the first book from author Alyson Reynolds I had the chance to read and I can guarantee it was not the last. I loved the plot, the characters, the mystery and the desire on every page I read. Alyson’s speech is simple, very detailed which alow us to feel all the emotions that the author wanted to convey while writing.
This book is told by Violet. She had a past marked by sadness, the betrayal and the cruelty of those who should have loved her unconditionally. She divorced a real player, an unscrupulous person who did everything in his power to get what he wanted without worrying and did everything to harm her, but Violet is stronger than that and so she moved to a distant land to try to follow her career and to try to be happy, try to chase her dreams away from the land that so badly treated her.
She is an actress and because of that she should be accustomed to her colleagues, but nothing had prepared her for the piece of hunk that was Jax.
Jax is an extremely attractive man, also an actor who loves what he does. He moved to the US due to his father's death, because the memories were impossible to endure and overcome. When he meets Violet things change.
How can you explain the attraction that feels by a person after a single glance? Is love, desire or lust? How do you explain the feeling of knowing a person but do not know from where or when? Can we love again without fear and without reservation? Be happy and trust blindly in our couple?
Relentless is an intense book, with a lot of comedy to the mixture but with much feeling. And if I tell you the hot scenes, I think you will want to get some fresh air, lol.
I can assure you that I was not expecting the progress that this story took, because what looked like a simple story without major changes it became a story full of intrigue, jealousy but with much romance and friendship to the mixture.
Now let's start reading the next book "Restless" and see what it has form me ...

“You are my inspiration, and my best friend. You are the only woman I have ever fully let into my heart. Violet, you were relentless at making me fall in love with you.”

Actress and socialite Violet Montgomery is offered the part of a lifetime. Semi-retired from acting the part is too good to pass up.
Jaxon Garrett is a new actor on the scene. Hot with an Aussie accent. Great friends, great interactions, and big love.

Violet has been through the relationship ringer. An ex-husband that could be the poster child for bad husbands, and relationship that mimicked the bad marriage. She is beginning to wonder if she is the problem. With a wall surrounding her heart she begins an journey of trust with Jaxon.
Jaxon past relationships have tested the trust boundaries as much as Violets have.

This is an amazing debut novel from this new author. I was drawn in from the first pages. Alyson’s future in writing is very bright. Everything is in this one. Love, angst, agony and learning how to build a relationship, tearing down walls brick by brick. An absolute must read!

I was so excited to start reading this book. It moved along at a great pace. I liked the characters. Violet has a great personality and a good sense of humor. Jaxon is an Australian man with green eyes... HOT!!! I also fell in love with all the secondary characters, except Silver. (you'll understand after you read the book)

I also got a little emotional in some of the scenes.

This is Alyson Reynolds' debut book, and I feel she did a great job. I will definitely read any future books by her.

I received this book in an online giveaway, so I was under no obligation to give her this review.

Solid 3.5 starts
Violet is a young actress in semi-retirement still scarred from a terrible first marriage. She meets Jaxson on the set of her new movie and sparks fly. Jax is a sexy Australian actor by accident.
While Vi and Jax had instant chemistry with each other I had a hard time feeling it.
There was quite a bit going on within a short period of time. I was hoping for a bit more angst from the two main characters. I also would have enjoyed hearing Jax's point of view. They both had tons of baggage and I think it would have helped give more feels.
I did like some of the secondary characters and how they reacted in situations throughout the story.
I look forward to seeing where this series goes.

This was a very quick read for me, I just couldn't put it down! Alyson is a new to me author, but I can't wait to read more! The girls in this story were runners, anything bad happens and they run, hard times, they run. There was a time or two I wanted to yell at Vi to grow up and let people around her talk but I think that was one of the things that made this story so good. Real life drama, actor and actress drama. It was all so believable. The next book in the series is going on my wish list for sure :-)

Violet is an actress that hasn't had a part in awhile, when all of a sudden she gets lucky. All of a sudden things start happening for her. A fast paced book, and easy reading.

***I was given this by the Booksmacked for an honest review***

OMG - I have now read a main character who is forced to deal with so much in one book, but that's exactly what Violet Montgomery is forced to do. After escaping a loveless and toxic marriage orchestrated for her mother's benefit, Violet's ex ensures her name is damaged. As an actress, nothing can be worse than bad publicity.

But Violet perseveres - she gets the lead role in her dream role and is reunited with her best friend and a sexy leading man.

Enter Jax - the hot Aussie actor on the rise. When Violet & Jax meet by the pool on day one the sparks fly and they can't be denied.

Trying to keep their budding relationship quite from not only the paparazzi but also their closest friends and family, their relationship goes from strength to strength as they overcome the obstacles laid out before them.

Reynolds does a great job of taking us on the emotional rollercoaster with Jax and Violet as we hold our breath and hope for a happy ending.

Wonderful debut novel from Alyson Reynolds and great start to a promising series. I really enjoyed this romance read, mostly because it's a Hollywood Romance - totally my obsession. Ms. Reynolds captured the daily lives of the Tinsel Town Elite in spectacular fashion.

There were many things I adored about this book, especially the theme of a second chance at love - for Violet. Violet Montgomery {Love the name}, she's beautiful, smart, independent yet a bit reserved due to her past heartache.

Jaxon Garrett, he's an Aussie hottie and movie star with alluring green eyes.

Sparks fly between these two, and the story has plenty of twists and turns!

The detailed descriptions were another reason that added to my overall enjoyment of the book. The author's writing allowed me to picture the story scene by scene.

Relentless is a great bit of escapist reading, perfect for your summer reading list. Well done Alyson!

This was a very well written debut romance novel by Alyson Reynolds which I'd rate 3.5 stars. It's set in America, following the lives of Violet Montgomery and Jaxon Garrett, both big time movie stars, and their family and friends. Both feel an instant attraction, but are unable to prevent baggage from each of their pasts affecting their futures. I loved the striking cover and found the characters engaging and the pace of the book moved along nicely. It was just missing something for me, that meant I didn't fall hard for the characters. I could have done with a bit more "show than tell," to really connect me to them and feel some emotions for some of the events that took place in the book, but if this is her debut novel, Reynolds shows real promise in her new career. An enjoyable read and I'd be happy to pick up a spin off, if she plans to do one, on Taylor and Stephen, two of the supporting characters.

I enjoyed reading this book and once I started and got into it I was swept along by the story of Violet who meets up with Jaxon when cast in the same film.. but it transpires they've caught each others attention in the past.. this time they're not going to be ships that pass in the night. they both seem to have emotional baggage which holds them back from wanting to give their hearts to each other. I liked the characters but didn't fall in love with them.. I didn't feel I got to know them as well as I'd liked to have done as I didn't feel their emotions and I felt that Jaxon wasn't quite the alpha male he was portrayed to be but I did warm to him. I thought the story was well written though and the plot was good. I got confused a little by some of the relationships especially when Emmy and Jason were introduced into the story. I would definitely read any further books in this series as I would like to know what happens to Taylor and Steven. **I received an arc for an honest review**

Violet and Jaxon are a most unlikely couple especially with her track record. You root for them to find a happy ending from the very beginning, but the road is not easy and it is full of potholes. Each of them has a past that cannot be overlooked and has left an indelible mark on their lives. They've both been hurt, not just by past love by family as well. How they work through these difficult moments to face the surprises in store for them is up to you to figure out. Read the book, because I'm not telling.

What I will say is that this is my first read of anything by Ms Reynolds, and I'm already impressed. She has a unique way with words that draws you into the tale and makes you care about her characters. I laughed out loud and shed some tears, but in the end, I was simply glad that I had the opportunity to read the book. It was funny and sad, sexy and sweet. I loved every minute of it. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Beautiful story about a relentless woman named Violet. Her life takes a dramatic turn after getting the lead part in a movie based on her favourite book. We follow her through the twists and turns that follow to test how relentless she really is.
When she meets one of the male leads in the movie, Jaxon, sparks fly and they soon become inseparable. Violet has an feeling that they have met before but can't think where/when until her ex-boyfriend, Scott, is cast in the movie and she sees them together - he had been at an event when she had been with Scott and was about to approach her when Scott returned to her side. Was their meeting meant to be all along.
Lots of twists and turns along the way to show whether she truly is relentless

Violet Montgomery is burned out on work and mistrustful of men. She's ready for a break from it all. Well, at least until she receives a call about a role of lifetime in a movie starting the handsome, rugged actor, Jaxon Garrett who has his own trust issues. As the two begin to work together they begin to feel a connection. As they both come to see that maybe they can have a relationship past hurts come to interfere. A fun light read with personable main characters and funny side characters in Taylor and Stephen.

Although 2016 ended well book wise, 2017 is starting off with a whimper. I'm afraid this is a DNF for me. You read about books where there is too much tell and not enough show and this one, at least as far as I could get, was ALL tell and it was impossible for me to even begin to connect with either heroine or hero.

I see others gave this one a good grade and it proves again that readers are all different and what works for one won't work for another. This one didn't work for me, not by any stretch of the imagination.

I absolutely loved this romance. Alyson Reynolds is a new to me author and she didn't disappoint. This was a great story with a wonderful storyline. The characters are so dynamic. Jaxon is hot, sexy and has an accent. Violet is a sweet, wonderfully damaged woman trying to get over her past. Jaxon crashes thru all her defenses. I can't wait for more in this series.

This was a really good story that made it hard to put down because I had to know what was going to happen. I loved Violet and Jaxson and was emotional invested in them. The story was well written and it made me wanted to know what happened to the other characters in the story. I can't wait to continue with their stories.

Enjoyable book

I enjoyed this book, even though it was a little predictable.

I like a feisty female lead in a story and Violet is one, but that takes nothing away from the male lead Jaxon. Who is just wonderful.

Gonna go look for the next book.....

DNF at 11%. Story feels rushed, especially the romance. One date and Boom! they're a couple. Too much tell and not enough show. Poorly edited. I'd rather move on to something else.
