AFTER LOSING HER HUSBAND, SHE'S SCARED TO LOVE AGAIN. Kelly Spencer has learned the ropes of being a single mom, but sometimes it's still a little overwhelming, and very lonely. There are moments when she thinks she's ready to try the whole dating thing again, but she is hesitant because of her children. HE'S LOST AND HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIND HIS WAY BACK TO NORMALCY. Devin Rose doesn't remember who he used to be, but he's heard the stories. All he wants is to move forward and become the decent person he knows he can be, but it won't be as easy as he initially thought. Through the darkness and confusion of his amnesia, Devin finds himself grasping at the first happiness he's felt since the night of his accident. ALL HE WANTS IS TO FIND THE MISSING PIECES. Nick Laveau returns to Prairie Town to help his estranged father with the family business, but he's also looking for a second chance at happiness. He is searching for the two perfect puzzle pieces that will finally make him feel complete. WHAT'S LOST WILL BE FOUND. They're all searching for something and they're about to discover more than any of them bargained for. Perhaps three hearts really can love each other fully, equally, and withstand the curveballs life hurdles their way.
T.E. Ridener resides in Southeastern Kentucky with her husband and their furbabies, Cujo (dog) and Christine (cat). She's still writing up a storm, and hopes to complete some of her most beloved series before 2022 comes to an end. Stay tuned!
This is book three in the Prairie Town series. It helps to have read the first two, but not necessary as much is recapped here. But you should, not least because I said so, but also because they are both, in their own different way, 5 star reads, same as this one! And we first meet Devin and Kelly in the previous books too.
Kelly is managing after the death of her husband 2 years previous. A noise under the sink brings Nick into her life and she begins to feel again. Devin is suffering, badly after the *incident* and moves into Nick's house as a room mate after he can no longer bear to be in his family's presence. The three of them together begin to heal wounds and mend broken hearts.
OH! I lurve Ms Ridener's Prairie Town books, I really do. They are so different to what I've been reading.
Two things stand out for me here:
One: Only NICK goes into this with his eyes fully on the prize, or rather PRIZES. He alone is instrumental in bringing the three of them together. And I LOVED that! Usually, the two males go into a three way with their eyes open. But not here. And it made this book, for me, along with point two.
Two: Its whats NOT here. There is love, and passion, and heat and steam, yes ma'am, lots of steam. BUT there isn't the usual explicitness that comes with a menage book. Its nearly ALL glossed over, fade-to-black, I believe Ms Ridener called it. I will hold my hand and say, I much prefer explicit books, but I will also hold my hand up and say it didn't need it here. Not. At. All.
There are some truly shocking points in this book. Some I saw coming (maybe not as fast as I wanted to pick up those hints, but I DID pick them up!) and mostly not. It made me cry, broke my heart in places. And as much as it hurt me to read, it does make for gripping reading. Kelly's heartbreak at moving on from her husband. Nick's reasons for coming back to Prairie Town and Devin? Well, I'm not giving anything away about Devin, but I will say this. I LOVED Devin in this book, deeply. I felt for him at the end of 90 Days, and its intensified here.
Lydia, Callum, Laney, Benji and Jeb, along with other characters all pop up along the way. Jeb, he has a nasty streak here, and it leads, I hope, into his book. Because Jeb NEEDS his book. I NEED his book!
If you like characters with a bit more bite, more sass and a bit more about them, these books are for you. If you never read Ridener before, these books are for you. If you never read a menage book before, this could very well be the one to start you off.
Seriously, read these books. You won't be disappointed!
I just devoured this story it was so good. A rollercoaster ride of emotions. The story centres around mother of two Kelly, Devin and new to Prairie Town Nick. Following on from the last book Devin has lost his memories after the kidnapping of Laney and Benji went wrong. He can't remember being such a horrible person. Now given a second chance he finds himself a roommate to Nick and neighbour to Kelly. Nick has never been the kind of guy to love just one person and finds it hard to fight his growing attraction to Devin and Kelly. Will they risk their hearts for this different kind of love and the past rarely stays buried what will that mean for the three friends. Can't wait to read book 4
The Lost Days starts with Devin and his memory loss. It has been eight months since that night with Laney and Benji, and he still can't remember any of it. Of course, others (including Jeb) think that he is pretending to get out of a jail sentence. Kelly doesn't think that he's pretending. He is certainly different to the Devin that she remembers. But then she is also distracted by Nick, the local 'handyman' who she likes to get handy with.
There were a few different things about this book that I really enjoyed, not least the flashbacks that Kelly had regarding Patrick. I think it was essential that the reader saw how much he meant to her, and that this wasn't just a flash-in-the-pan affair for her. Devin, too, showed a whole new side to himself - a nicer, friendlier, and yep, even sexier side.
However, there were a couple of things that I didn't enjoy - although I can see how they are relevant, and add to, the story. One is Jeb's temper. Call it a personal quirk, but I hate it when a man or woman is so taken over with their temper like that. I liked Jeb in the first book, had my doubts in the second, and really didn't like him in this one. I am hoping for a silver lining for him, but he has some serious issues to work out. Secondly was Nick, which I know people will disagree with. I didn't like how he played both Devin and Kelly. Admittedly, Devin knew more about it than Kelly did (WRONG), but still... there were just parts I didn't like, but I'll leave it there as I know that he is a popular character.
On the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, it was most definitely a smooth read too. Definitely recommended by me.

What a read. The 3rd book in this series, it's just as good, exciting & will push you to the next level. Three people with pasts, three people who need saving, three people lost & need love. Is it possible to love to other people, to let them into your life, it could be the perfect fantasy romance, but could it actually really happen. I've laughed, cried & swore at this book. It's so well written. It fills you full of hope & dread. It challenged my beliefs & now I'm a total believer. A wonderful story of challenging times that is just so worth reading. Can't wait for the next story of this amazing series.
I'll admit, I was originally disappointed that the third book in the Prairie Town series wasn't about Jeb and Ags (hint, hint, Ridener ;) ), but that didn't last long. Through the eyes of three compelling characters, T.E. Ridener explores the idea of what makes us who we are. Nature versus nurture, and the role both society and our memories play in shaping our actions. While there were times I wished some portions had been extended, overall, I greatly enjoyed the latest installment of this series.
I've read lots and lots of books, yes I have, but this is one that's touched me closely. I am not any sexuality that T.E has covered so far but watching others make their journey to happiness makes me realize it might not be so hard for me. <3 but honestly this book had me gasping and tears welling up during the more stressful parts.
