In a big house, on a quiet street, in the city of Karma, Amber lives with her soon-to-be husband, Geoff Quinn, and the three babies they've adopted. They have big plans for the future. Including, if her sisters have anything to say about it, a big wedding.
Amber's not sure about the wedding plans, but she is excited about being married to the love of her life, and finally feeling like part of a family.
But, children have been disappearing all over Karma.
And Amber is pretty sure she has what they're looking for.
first off I would like to say these three authors are great writers. I have loved everything I have read from them. These books go together completely. These books are very short and you can sometimes get two in one day done. The people are all great. They all have so much to learn and do. Each book is something different. They all find themselves with the same thing in common. Amber is one of my favorites. Geoff really scares me in this book. I think poor Amber has a lot on her plate now with the babies. I can't wait to see where this story goes.
This series is one where the books must be read in order to fully enjoy the stories. But if read in order, it's hard to put the books down. This one was really good. I gave it four instead of five stars because the end was rather abrupt. But all the books in this series have been great.
Geoff has something going on and keeping it close to his chest but his love for Amber and the babies is so real that he'll do anything to protect them.
"Amber in Ashes" is the eleventh novel in the "Karma's Witches" series. Amber and Geoff's relationship has been on hold ever since they adopted the triplets. Geoff lives in another part of her house, but he is still keeping his normal scheduled along with remaining as supportive as possible. Amber has pretty much turned into a stay at home mom and feels that she can take care of her siblings by herself without bothering anyone else. However, at the same time she's supposed to be planing her wedding. Things start to get messy when Amber learns about the case Geoff is working on which involves the disappearance of children from all around Karma. Amber, her sisters, her brothers, and all of their significant others get involved when they learn that these disappearances are magical in origin. Overall, I thought that this was a good addition to the series. But there are certain things that I don't like about the plot. One, with so many siblings and significant others, there shouldn't be so much pressure on Amber to take care of the kids by herself. She's also extremely hard on herself and feels that everyone is judging her for the majority of the novel, and then she's fairly indifferent when it comes to planing her wedding. She wants to give Geoff the wedding of his dreams, and allows his mother to plan it for her. Which ironically, it takes place in her ballroom that she didn't even know she had. Amber has pretty much been so busy with the babies that she hasn't checked out all of the rooms in her house. There are also a few questions that are left unanswered and several plot strings that should be resolved in future novellas.
This is the eleventh book in the Karma Witches series and each book is better than than the previous one. This book centered around the triplets that Amber and Geoff are raising and their wedding to each other. I enjoyed this story a lot. As I read the struggles of being parents to triplets it sounded so real. I recommend this series be read in order to understand everything happening and the relationships between the characters.
