Overall, a great primer. I read the AMC Guide to Winter Hiking and Camping as a refresher in preparation for the winter camping season here in New Hampshire. There are plenty of great information for the novice and a few good nuggets for the experienced winter camper.

This book has strong, practical advice for leading groups on winter adventures. It is not an extremely technical book, which I think will appeal to a broader audience.
