After twelve years as a Protestant pastor, Jeff returned to the Catholic Church under the guidance of Bishop Paul Dudley. His conversion story, one of the best known and inspiring stories of its kind, is chronicled in the best-selling book, My Life on the Rock.

Over the past several decades, Jeff has dedicated his life to developing The Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible, a practical, interactive program that helps people read the “big picture” of God’s plan in Sacred Scripture and understand its meaning for their lives. The Great Adventure presents the entire sweep of the Bible in a way that is easy to understand and genuinely fun. Its unique Bible Timeline learning system has revolutionized Catholic Bible Study for hundreds of thousands of Catholics since 1995.

Jeff received his MA in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

I took this study in the fall of 2015, but I didn't make it a priority to finish reviewing the final session... until today. Yes, over two years later, I finally reviewed that last session today, and it was delightful.

This study completely opened up the Book of Revelation for me. It wasn't anything like the hyped-up Left Behind version. Instead, it was an authentically Catholic and completely comprehensible approach to one of the Bible's most perplexing books. I highly recommend this study (and the entire Great Adventure Bible Timeline series) to anyone seeking to reconcile the hype of popular literature, sensationalist "rapture" bumper stickers, and the truth of the Catholic faith.

Another really good series of classes by Jeff Cavins. Group discussions followed by a lecture on DVD. Revelation, more than any other book in the Bible, is so hard to understand without help.

Jeff Cavins follows his own agenda which he lays out at the very beginning by dating the Book of Revelation to the year 65 instead the conventional 95 AD. Consequently, the events taken place in the year 70 AD are described as being the judgement of God upon the Jews because of their rejection of Jesus being the Christ. The Roman legions under Titus are instruments of God - clearly intended by the writer to please the Roman authorities. Jeff Cavins however ignores this view and sees the prophecy being fulfilled by history rather than the acknowledged opinion that the history forms the foundation of the prophecy.
